Went to seaworld for the first time last week. I thought both Manta and Kraken were first class coasters. Rode Manta twice, my first flying coaster. Once in the front seat, I thought the extra wait was well worth it. I'll be coming back often this year.
I love the noise that it makes when the trains move into the flying position. It sounds like its coming from speakers, but i know it's really the machine pulling the train up.
go on it, i used to be scared, they are nuthing,, really fun and u do not get that feeling in your stomach anwyhere near as much as you wud think, good luck!
It's a great ride and intense as well. I couldn't rie more than three times in a row without having to step away for a break during the media day event.
Well, I usually suggest starting small and working your way up to the bigger coasters. Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa, FL is a good place to start. They'll soon have junior coaster when Grovers Skyfari opens this spring, then you can work your way up from Cheetah Chase and Scorpion to the the heavyweights of the park like Montu, Kumba, Gwazi (Lion & Tiger) and Sheikra. However you asked about the Orlando area so any coaster at Walt Disney World will do.
Not yet. The only things I saw they were selling in the Manta gift store, which (I believe) was the old Gulliver's Travels store, are t-shirts, magnets, hat pins, key chains, etc.
@TheThundercoaster Actually, that is just a sound effect as well. I've been on Superman Ultimate Flight at SFGAdv in New Jersey which didn't have that sound effect and it was pretty quiet when the train was raised into the flying position.
Well I haven't been there, yet. But from what I've heard it's pretty good. They've just restored their antique carousel and upgraded their dark ride called The Monster Mansion. The coasters are pretty good with Goliath being the star attraction and visible from a great distance. I've also heard that Ninja can be very rough at times.
Well to me Manta is one of the best rides in Orlando, but Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit still has yet to open and it looks impressive as well. The only thing I can compeare it to is flying like Superman.
Sorry it rained during your trip but this is our rainy season in Florida. I filmed this during the media event on 5/21/09 and was quite worried as it poured all day on the 18th & 19th, but it relented for half a day on the 20th and all day on the 21st. Then it poured on the 22nd and 23rd. What you experienced was just a normal storm, a Tropical Storm is a very large system and is one step below a catagory 1 hurricane (the weakest classification).
@equinekrazy Also, there's alot of high G forces so you might have abit of a headahce afterwards especially with the superman position as opposed to a regular sitting down roller coaster.
@EllaTaylorx well, i am 13, and live in florida. start at busch gardens. air grover first, cheetah chase 2nd, scorpion 3rd, gwazi 4th, kumba 5th, montu 6th, and end it all with SheiKra!
@woodencoasterfan Okay. I noticed while waiting in the station it sounded like it was coming from speakers, but i did not understand why they would want that noise. You do know the noise i am talking about right?
@gabiifrancoo Well, I don't keep track of how many times I've ridden a certain ride but it's safe to say that I've ridden Manta many times and yes it us quite fun :)
It's probably just to heighten your senses. Their is a certain anxiety created within your body EVERY time you ride a rollercoaster. That "high" is what people love about roller coasters. The anxiety before and during a ride. Even simple errie machinery noises like this can be used to stimulate that anziety and adrenaline. Most Disney rides do this. Take tower of terror for example. The elevator makes all kinds of creepy sounds. All of which originate from speakers and stimulate your senses.
@Shad0vvStalk3r There has never been a coaster classified as a "Lay down coaster", not even firehawk. This and Firehawk aren't even built by the same company. This is a flying coaster, and firehawk is a Vekoma flying dutchman.
@kitten123654 This is actually what you see when you're in line for the ride. I just so happened to have filmed this when my club was invited for the media day event when the ride was closed so the TV crews could get their shots of the line.
essa ai é uma montanha russa muito boaaaaa primeiro vc sobe depois vc começa a cair em espiral e da um monte de loopins positivos e negativos é muito legaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll

the best themed coaster ive ever seen
No doubt about it. Sea World does a great job theming their rides and shows. I think they really out did themselves on this one.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. It took me well over an hour and a half to shoot everything.
It's a great ride and intense as well. I couldn't rie more than three times in a row without having to step away for a break during the media day event.
this is the prettiest site I've ever seen
Thanks, had lot's of fun that day getting to ride Manta many times that day :)
This is the best vid of Manta I have seen so far. Amazing quality! 5*
It's a fun ride. I was terrified before I went on it, but when it was over, I was mad. It was too short, but still a fun ride!
@woodencoasterfan yes that deep, loud noise that it makes. Kind of hard to describe.
Persanoly I am terrified of coasters but I rode on this and it was like flying and u can't back out if u r going to go on this :) so fun

Well glad you had fun, unfortunately, there are no Six Flags parks in Florida. The nearest one is Six Flags over Georgia near Atlanta, Georgia.
@equinekrazy Also, there's alot of high G forces so you might have abit of a headahce afterwards especially with the superman position as opposed to a regular sitting down roller coaster.
graet video nice wat to experience it without even being there *****

@woodencoasterfan Okay. I noticed while waiting in the station it sounded like it was coming from speakers, but i did not understand why they would want that noise. You do know the noise i am talking about right?
I like it!! this vid is soo good!
nice vid! this type of coaster is not a new idea, its been around for some years now.
@gabiifrancoo Well, I don't keep track of how many times I've ridden a certain ride but it's safe to say that I've ridden Manta many times and yes it us quite fun :)
GOD! I SURE DO LOVE MY FLYING COASTERS

I need this in my backyard! ! !

@DiegoFoster No, you don't. You're probably thinking of the wing dip at the 8:36 mark or the waterfall flyby at the 8:50 mark
@Shad0vvStalk3r I hate to contradict you, but it is actually classified as a flying coaster.
@TheThundercoaster The sound that's made as the train rises right?
IVE been on that:D omg its awesome!
Yep, shure is.
essa ai é uma montanha russa muito boaaaaa
primeiro vc sobe depois vc começa a cair em espiral e da um monte de loopins positivos e negativos é muito legaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll
@MrRollercoasterfreak it is!

i live in florida so ive been to seaworld alot and i ride that everytime
What do you mean by that?
This ride is sooo fucking fun!!!!!
@lankyle2 No it isn't, there are many other flying coasters in the US besides this one.
i was just here 3 weeks ago!!!
well more like a month right before killtuma or w/e that whales name is killed that lady!
It's my baby
Four times :)
Tatsu is waay better than Manta but the line for the ride is the best.
@CeletialDarkness air grover is a waste of time! LOL. Id rather end it with montu, just better then SheiKra.
Explain, what's "so dumb" about this video.
