why cover them in modpodge? What does the mod podge do?
It helps protect the design by sealing it in and gives it a nice finish!

What kind and brand of paint did you use? Because usually when I paint the background first and try to paint something over it, the background can still be seen and so the layers on top dont really cover it much. And how do you get those pastel colors?
I mentioned every single brand and colour in the video. Sometimes I get that problem too, so I just do two coats of everything!

Are you doing the painting on paper or are you doing it on a board and if you are doing it on board where do you get it at.
It's just called a "stretched canvas" and I got it at Michael's Craft Store!
do you really need the modpodge? or is that just your preference?
The Mod Podge helps protect the paint and seals in the design. It's not mandatory but I just always use it!

I don't get how too make the light brown! I'm mixing my brown and white and I keep on getting a pinkish color
It may be just the shade of brown that you used; mine had a reddish tint too!
If it helps I find, mixing the primary colors to get brown and then adding white. This works especially if you use cheap paint (which I do)

The 'donut' is a pun on the word 'don't.' You can make it say whatever you want it to say.
