14:57 I think it’s a bad point to say glasses are the final form where this will gain “eyes”. AI doesn’t need “eyes” it needs inputs. Sensor for all our human senses will be a final form for AI in multiple ways multiple times. Apple has this in the bag. From watch sensors to AirPods to even the AirTags, they can do crazy things with AI using those sensors solely or combined. AI will be a tool not a feature and tools are never final or not iterative. If python was a feature we couldn’t keep making new things and apps and AI’s using it. Features are built using the tools. This will be the way it is for a while. Eventually as we get things that can run locally and are far more advanced we could see AI be more feature like but I highly doubt that will be its final form even then. It will outlive that final form for sure. Over and over again. And if I’m wrong then every promise/reason to build AI is a fallacy because that means it’s a meta and apple benefit not a general tool for humans to enrich our lives. Vision Pro has “eyes” and we see that it’s just a tool that needs developers still to utilize and create features. Apple will play the feature game at WWDC and I think that’s the one thing every other tech company will regret not doing in a year from now.
@@uncoverage yup you got it! Mentioned that in the comment there also! And I agree we definitely are on the same wavelength, my head is always nodding “yes” constantly watching your videos haha
mostly agree - and that is one of the reasons their taste is such a huge deal - but i’m curious about what you think it affords them! i actually think it is more a liability than an advantage at the moment
Yes, but it misses the point. You need to offer the user of those devices useful and trustworthy features. Most tech companies are too quick to pump out new cool stuff without ensuring that users will actually benefit beyond the hype
Hey uncoverage, I watched the whole video and I think you are absolutely right. I have been saying to my family that Apple will release a meta style glasses for months now. If you think about it the only competitors Apple has is Meta. Not Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, but Meta. So continue growing they both have to make devices that dominate the competition in the US. I think your analysis and video is well thought out. When you make a Patreon I will be your first.
it would very interesting to see if they do drop a new product, or whether it will light a fire under their ass to encourage them to make an Apple Vision Air sooner rather than later - by the way, i generally agree with you that their biggest competitor right now is Meta. video about that soon!!
As Ben Thompson has said, we are in the same spot in the hype cycle with AI as the Internet was in like 1998-2000. It’s going to change the world, but it could take 10+ years to really deliver.
That may be true, but the sheer speed at which these things happen now has changed. Thus the 10 years after ‘99 will be more like 2-3 years in todays environment
neat ideas and presentation as usual - while i largely agree, this does make some non-trivial presumptions like apple getting their act together and have the different platforms work symbiotically - a feat they've failed at with siri (experince being fragmented cause of commands being device specific, can't ask on tvos what you can on ios etc) icloud (cloudkit) syncing leaves a lot to be desired… and many others… though what i will say they seem to be focused on and good at is universal control. now if they can take that level of care and apply it to all other cross device experiences, we could really have something there!
100% valid (and sorry for replying late to the game) - i’m curious, with the hindsight of the WWDC keynote, whether you think their AI (claims) meet the bar that i discuss in the video
fun fact: squirrels were artificially introduced to parks in the late 1800s and Central Park was one of the first to successful host a population before they expanded throughout the country!! 99percentinvisible.org/episode/uptown-squirrel/
Thanks for the video. Yes i think that's where we are wainting Apple. What is the right way to do personnal genAI? How to make it understandable and usable for anyone ? Beyond just the technical aspect...
Dude, I like your videos, but this time with so much noise in the background and a loud trumpet, I couldn’t really understand. It was very hard not to skip your video watched to the end. 😄 🎺
@@uncoverage No problem at all. Just thought I would let you know so you could correct it for future video! I am interested on your take of what get released at WWDC and its impllications and so I wanted to let you know so you could fix it in future videos!
adjusted the title of the video based on this feedback - this channel is an ongoing conversation and i’d love to have your input on where to drive the conversation next!
@@uncoverage yo I LOVE the framing you use, it's really refreshing. And the music choices are sublime. My only thought is that at sometimes music levels are a little off (like the intro section with Jobs talking) which can momentarily make it hard to hear what's being talked about.

What a beautiful video. I loved how you used Central Park as a setting, makes it feel super genuine and casual. Keep doing what you do man, love it!
thank you for the kind words :) Central Park is the best and i’m grateful i had the chance to film there!
Awesome take as always! And I’m loving the outside vibes
thank you!!
This video felt like low resolution input I already have high resolution knowledge about
lol
@smicha15 ha! what would you like me to dive deeper on?? or what’s your take? i’d love to build on each others’ ideas
I think Apple has another advantage: billions of its devices are now in use worldwide.

as for the future of the channel, i’m going to have a fun announcement soon, so keep your eyes peeled :)
One last comment, I really admire your ability to focus with all those distractions. Job well done.
Agreed
haha!! thanks :)
Gotta say, I love your thumbnail for this video😂
i was waiting for this comment to roll in!!

love the thoughts here, and love Thompson’s analysis too - do you know where he said that?? i must have missed it

i love this, especially with the tagline post-announcement: “AI for the rest of us”
Music too loud
sorry about that! i always add captions to my videos in case they’re inaccessible to you - i’ll make sure to consider this next time
Dude, I like your videos, but this time with so much noise in the background and a loud trumpet, I couldn’t really understand. It was very hard not to skip your video watched to the end. 😄 🎺
sorry about that!! my videos always have subtitles to help with accessibility if that helps in the meantime :)
Great video but the big band music at the end is way too loud and distracting! 😲 I can barely hear what you are saying.
so sorry about that!! my videos always have captions in case they aren’t accessibly mixed - that’s on me

A 15min word soup of nothing.
tldr: longer context and ar could be apple advantages..but in the end no conclusion as well. What a waste of time

bad framing, 15mins of bad audio babbling, stevie jobso would make you cut that isht down

they call it the Big Apple for a reason, right‽
