- The 90s were a great time for movies. Sure, everyone loves the 80s, but pound for pound, the 90s were likely just as good. In this super-sized compilation of Best Movie You Never Saw episodes, we take a look at three little seen gems.
G.I. JANE: This Ridley Scott movie is probably most famous now for being the inspiration for the line that got Chris Rock slapped at the Oscars, but this Demi Moore-led Navy SEALS movie is great, and gives Viggo Mortensen a terrific early role.
THE PEACEMAKER: George Clooney's only real action movie pair him with Nicole Kidman as the pair chase a stolen nuclear warhead before it can be set off.
ARACHNOPHOBIA: Anyone who's afraid of spiders might want to skip this comedy-horror mashup starring Jeff Daniels, the late Julian Sands, John Goodman, and a whole bunch of creepy crawlies.

Oh, don't worry. We didn't forget the greatness of GI Jane. Chris Rock informed us about the upcoming sequel.
"GI Jane 2, can't wait to see it."
-Chris Rock
It slaps!
Keep my wife's name out your f-king mouth!
@@rockoorbe2002 🤣😂
This comment slaps harder than Will Smith on Oscar night
Haven't forgot about Arahnophobia. John Goodman was excellent, and the spiders were creepy
Arachnophobia is the reason I hate and am scared to death of spiders
Same
Don’t blame the movie. Blame yourself. 😂
If you have Shudder there is a movie called Infested that makes Arachnophobia look tame 🕷️🕸️👀
Same!
It's wrong to be afraid of spiders when most spiders are afraid of humans.
I have big spiders in the basement and they are eating other insects. It's recommended to have spiders in the basement for that purpose as they eat almost anything you don't want in the house. The spiders themselves are harmless in any way and they run away when you get close to them.
GI Jane is Demi Moore's best role, in my opinion, though most people have no idea about the plot, and only know it because of Chris Rock.
Watched G.I. Jane bunches of times with my mom as a boy. I grew up loving Demi Moore as one of my favorites.
*Yes* to Peacemaker 😊
Just watched the movie and it's good.
Damn, I actually forgot that G.I. Jane was a Ridley Scott movie! Gonna watch it again tonight! 💪🏻
Plays better now than it did in ‘97
These are all on my list even though i can't watch arachnophobia.... that nose scene still gets me
I'm sorry, I had to fast forward through the arachnophobia review. I can't afford the therapy after seeing it again 😂
Put that Cookie Down! Now!😃
Can you do "Jingle All The Way" with Arnold Schwarzenegger, please?
Please!!
I never saw GI Jane, but that needs to change. Looks like an excellent movie!
:You don't have to be afraid of Julian Sands anymore....
John Goodman MADE Arachnophobia great!
Love Disclosure
90.s 😎🤘
I read disclosure as a kid after I read Jurassic park and andromeda strain. Yeah disclosure was not what I was expecting… but it def made an impact on me at 14 lol
Comedy my booty. Arachnophobia is one of the best make your skin crawl unintentional horror movies of all time.
Trust me you’re not the only one who has to check under the toilet lid for spiders every time either. That movie ruined dumps for me for life.
This really makes it obvious to me why I so rarely go to the pictures these days. Endless superhero films are not for me (I've seen 9, including 3 x Superman C Reeve, Supergirl, 2 x Batman M Keaton, 2 x Batman C Bale & Joker). When I was growing up, we definitely had more choice.
I saw both G.I.Jane & Arachnophobia at the pictures & thoroughly enjoyed them both!
I love these trips down memory lane - even the small reference to St Elmo's Fire was heartwarming 😊
We really did have more choice - a much wider variety of movies.
I saw in the 90s and it was a solid movie! But at the time the media was really negative with Demi Moore and the movie bombed
Movie was legit, the razzie wasn't deserved for G. I. Jane as it looked the part. Also I heard there's a sequel in the works.
glad Cris B brought this up, indeed under-rated movies especially both GI Jane by the master Ridley and of course the superb pairing of Kidman and Clooney from the great action decade of the 90s with Peacemaker
Great vid
Arachnophobia is probably the best movie in the animal horror subgenre (granted there are not a lot of good ones to begin with) and it has a lot Spielberg trademarks (similar to Poltergeist which is also really good).
If they made GI Jane now it would be awful, they would have some slay queen beating up everybody with minimal training then becoming the first person to become a 5 star general in 3 weeks.
"Take out bad wood. Put in good wood."
I must be living in a matrix because I remember GI-Jane being a big hit! I thought that line was pretty well known in the film when she says "Suck ......". I remember the training montage in the trailer before I ever saw the film. It was quite impressive to me, and it still is. Vigo gives her that book at the end of the film, it was great I never served so I can't provide that perspective but it's certainly seemed like they didn't pull punches. It's quite visceral where a movie like this needs to be as well. Now we get an actress who gets paid millions and doesn't even want to put on Blue makeup so I don't know. It's funny I love film and I always think about Demi Moore as an example of the hypocrisy that must exist in Hollywood. All these actors older than me trying to do young mans roles. The female equivalent counterparts end up on what...streaming.... Disney Plus..
It was a flop but well-loved by some, including us.
Can’t wait for GI Jane 2!
Chill factor is the shit
Ohhh slap! Who had to bring up G.I. Jane, again? Damn autocorrect! snap* 🤓
Been There Seen That! 👊😊✊😊👍😊👌🍁
I think the GI Jane title doesn’t do it any favors
I love GI Jane and it would be an honor to be compared to Demi Moore's character, but well...
Yeah I guess Jada didn’t think so
I saw it a lot. My Mom loved this movie
Should’ve pushed Arachnophobia as a Horror Thriller.
I liked Peacemaker
I watched Arachnophobia at the cinema on release. There is one scene in the movie were everyone jumped.
Those who have seen it, knows which scene.
I always check the toilet for spiders now. Always.
@@JoBloOriginals No need to worry. House spiders are not good swimmers.
I'm shocked to learn that GI Jane got panned in reviews! (at the time)
I guess I just wasn't paying attention to that, I absolutely loved this movie.
It was really slammed - very unfairly
It was panned because its military propaganda, not because of a female character. Stop simping
@@PodcastClips23969 I was in the military at the time! ;-)
Yes, how does one shake a camera? 🤔
I loved G.I Jane right off the bat. Really don't get the Razzie - pure mysoginy.
I also really can't stand all the TH-cam videos panning the movie's inaccuracies in regards to the SEAL training sequences. If you want real life go watch the news. This is a movie, and the reality is there to suit the narrative.
talking bout demi moore, what happened to her?
Demi Moore was a smoke-show.
Dude. Big time. Still is
👍👍👍🎥
In G.I Jane Moore was not a do it all -girlboss. No, she was a real woman trying to survive amongst men and then getting their respect. If Jane was made today, she would be all powerfull lesbian, who is smarter and better at everything than her male counterparts. That's why G.I Jane holds up, it's a realistic portrayal, not some feminist power fantasy.
Yeah... I Thought 'GI Jane' was actually a pretty damned decent movie. And yeah, Moore? She was DAAAAAAMN HOT back then! 👌
😎🇬🇧
I think making her a lesbian would have been to cliche.
Why is it sad that female directed action flicks are rare?
Because he is a liberal.
GI Jane was awesome...who didn't like it?
good ol 90s. So many of these movies would never be made again because of all that PC/Woke crap floating around. We were lucky
Not only that, but they wiped the slate clean too. Don't forget Jennifer Lawrence was the first female lead in an action movie.
@@Cimlite lol i forgot abut that one
This review was going great until you started harping on the sexual orientation thing. It was 30 years ago, we get it, you are progressive.
GI Jane isn’t good it is a snore fest.
All these movies suck. I rather watch Forest Gump again
Garbage. 0/10.
