      I recently bought a GoTrax Ultra. When I bought it I was thinking it was confusing because it's so similar in specs and appearance and almost everything to the GXL. and now they released an Elite that is basically the same thing as well. I don't get why they keep releasing new models that are exactly the same (and only $10 price difference). Only thing I can think of is that they're just rebranding from other MFG's. I like the Ultra I have though but I just wish it would go faster. It had a top speed of 15.5 but you'r averaging much slower since it cuts out the motor at 15.5 and the motor restarts around 13.5-14.

    • @TisforTech
      @TisforTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right on the various different names and specs of the different models. It may be what you are saying/mentioning - that they are rebranding other scooters. I will say that I also wish it would go faster than 15.5 mph. I feel that it probably could, and it could definitely go faster downhill if it were allowed to coast vs be restrained by the motor. I haven't had a ton of experience with other scooters - only a few various rides on the Lime / Uber scooters in San Diego :)
      It does seem pretty well made though and a good overall build quality.

    Nice video thanks for posting..have you ridden the xr ultra? If so wondering on your thoughts between the two. Did you notice any difference with the battery being in deck vs neck of the scooter? Did 15.5 mph feel slow? I have heard disputing thoughts on it

    • @TisforTech
      @TisforTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not ridden on the XR Ultra unfortunately. I do like the fact that the batteries are based low in the deck vs the neck. I would assume that slightly changes the characteristics of handling - with the lower center of gravity. But that would just be a guess because I haven't ridden the other. 15.5 mph didn't necessarily feel slow, but it would be great if the top speed were a bit faster. I'm not talking about 30 mph, but an additional 3-5 would be good for faster traversal in flat / long rides.

    • @domd5702
      @domd5702 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      T is for Tech I agree I have looked online and haven’t seen any way to unlock the speed limiter on the gotrax scooters. With a 300w it can definitely go faster. Battery life would suffer but I would be fine with that.

      @TisforTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that. There are 2 modes. One that goes slower, and one that will get to the max of 15.5 mph. You basically hold the red power button for 3 seconds to engage the faster speed. (see below comment...this may be incorrect...there is a sticker that indicates there is a 3 second push of the button for a different speed mode, but there is no indication that there are multiple modes)

      Yeah so I'm confused about this too. I assumed this was the case because of the icon on the sticker that seems to indicate there are two modes. When my kids were riding I thought it was going slow until I did that. But it may not be true.

    Too put it in good terms, my xr elite came in today, and it’s getting sent back tomorrow. That should say everything. Dude this scooter is too slow people should use their scooter for fast transportation like cars. My 5600w (6000w+ actual output) scooter lost one of the controllers due to failure and been running off one motor (3000w) and still managed to go 50+ mph on the road shocking drivers out there.. You might want to change the way you think about scooters and treat them like cars. Get a fast ones like I have and you have plenty of power that you can use in the future. You can even hook up a trailer to the scooter (hooks on the seatpost) to transport big and heavy stuff. Financial collapse is coming soon and a lot of people will go homeless and lose their cars... Electric scooter would be a good replacement for transportation needs.
