Anyway, Natsume Mentioning Harvest Moon's history/anniversary as they have done is a bit much though. They don’t deserve the credit for the original harvest Moon games, aside from the words they translated.

They hear Harvest Moon they immediately write about Story of Seasons that it is the real Harvest Moon, that they stole the title and other crap things. The game is super fun! I think this one is even better than SoS games imo. Super innovative, there are so many things to do. I'm happy that Natsume heard our complaints about previous games and they improved a lot! Btw. One World looks incomplete yet I enjoyed it a lot!
I'm sure I'm not alone, hate yard work but enjoyed playing the old school farm SIMS. I love that the graphics type is like a BOTW Lite, I love farming items like that
I havent played a single HM game since the split but seeing how well this game has been reviewed im definitely wanting to play it! I just cant believe they ACTUALLY made a good game for once 😂
It's honestly what I was hoping would happen. At first I was excited to have more farm sim options but then HM games were SO BAD. I think they're finally getting to a decent point where the games are pretty good. I have my gripes with WoA and I haven't played a ton yet but I'm hopeful for the future of the series. I'm hoping enough healthy competition in the genre pushes all devs to make the best game they can make. Even SoS has been kinda lacking lately imo. Indie farm sims seem to be really taking over.

This is the first Harvest Moon game I bought after the split since that abomination called The Lost Valley, and I think Natsume is finally managing to turn their Harvest Moon into a great farming sim in its own right. I even like this game more than recent Story of Seasons games so far. If they keep improving on this model that started with One World, they're gonna shine.

@elithegaymer in Marvelous' defense, FoMT and AWL were faithful remakes rather than brand new games and it obviously detracted from their appeal when comparing to a lot of mosern games. Poot though was pretty rough especially after so many of the 3ds games were stellar. I'm hoping the next one will be better but I'm honestly leaning on a lot of indie devs for farm sims these days.
Now this is such a interesting take on the harvest moon games. I'm also happy that the models in this game are stylized but don't look too young. Neil is my favorite looking one so far because he stands out among the other romances.
This is probably the most addictive harvest moon game I've ever played. I have about 56 hours into it so far and it's quickly become my second favorite game out of all the harvest moon / story of seasons games (a new beginning on the 3ds is my favorite) as a completionist, the massive amount of crops and mutations and other collectibles to gather makes me really happy, and I love how beautiful a lot of places in the game are.
Honestly as someone who bounced hard off HM after the name split stuff and genuinely was worried HM was 'dead' it makes me so happy to hear Winds is good, I'll likely grab this on steam thanks to reviews like this!
The big open world and the sonar mechanic in mining makes me think they took a look at the My Time series, but tweaked it to fit their vision. Which is a good thing! I think it's neat how farm sims kind of keep building off each other. I'm not sure when I'll pick this up, as I'm also interested in playing RF3 Special, but I think I definitely will get it at some point!
Yes, there are some really beautiful areas! And the different weather effects make the different areas look cool as well. Plus you can take photos and even selfies anywhere, haha.

Regarding animal feed, here's a tip that is saving me a ton of time and money. Grass does NOT need water to grow. At all. For 300 g you can get 60 grass seeds. That fills up the entire beach town field. With a few fences in place you have a guaranteed 60 feed every 3 days without ever needing to take time to water it. Just pick a day you aren't working on quests or gathering materials from the mine or chopping wood and drop by 3 or 4 in-game days later.
You're welcome! It will definitely be a big help because one of the early quests is to get silver, which starts appearing on level 11 of the mine... I got there the hard, old fashioned way. Let me tell ya, that was not easy...
I'm glad it's good! I was worried too so didn't pre-order. The sleepy cow plushie was very tempting though! Now I definitely want to get the game whenever it comes out

Yeah, I think the games started out rough… but they have definitely been constantly moving in the right direction! This game is a big improvement over the past few games.

i put fae farm on the back burner until they sort out the bugs, me and my wife kept having issues with animals not producing and such, lol, so this is a good keep me busy till then game lol
I just grew a snowman...... so cool. The garden is in Letchenbury(spl) and it's winter and i grew a watermelon. Absolutely surprised me and helped me laugh and smile. Love it.

Love this honest review! Just wanted to ask: On Steam, it was originally listed as launching today but it suddenly reverted back to "Coming Soon". Would you happen to have any news on what happened with the Steam release?
Natsume replied a bit ago on X saying that the Steam version has some sort of issue that they're working on, and will have it available as soon as possible. They didn't give a timeframe, unfortunately.
Oh the open world assessment was what i was guessing yesterday but of course wasn't sure since it was based off so little information! That is interesting to find out. The gane looks like so much fun ahhhhh!
I adore this game so much. It's like BOTW but removing all the drama and it's so peaceful. I fell asleep a couple of times to the night time music. It's almost like therapy. I would recommend this to anyone. Good stepping stone for new gamers. 9.5 / 10

I love this game. I bought it for PS5 and it works great on it. I have to say I love it more than any Story of Seasons games. Harvest Moon series is so underrated now and this makes me sad, because I really appreciate the games fomula. There are so many things to do. The huge world, so many crops, plants variations and I even like the idea that I can move out to other locations. I have a feeling that if it had been published by another company under a different name, the game would have been a success. I don't know why people spend so much energy hating on this series on the Internet. After all, it's better to have more options to choose from... and when there are more options, there is more competition. When there is more competition, companies try harder. The games are better. The Winds of Anthos is the best example. Natsume knew about all the complaints and they improved a lot and this must be appreciated... yet people still there to hate it. And you can see when there is hate and when there is constructive criticism. I appreciate that you play all these Harvest Moon games without prejudice and give them a chance. Thank you!

I'm surprised you didn't go over chatacter customization! I had seen the trailer and saw different options for hairstyles etc. Big oof that it's not much that it didn't even get mentioned lol But other then that, I really like the look of it from the video, I would love to give it a try, especially if it handles good on switch. I'll pick it up!
The player customization is a bit basic, haha. Basically choose male or female, hair and skin color… and then that’s it. Hopefully future titles can improve upon this aspect.
I have been playing this game for around 25 hours and I really enjoy it so far. I agree with you that it’s a bit struggle to own animals because the feed takes so much effort and it’s also so expensive to buy. But I love the warp function and I can also warp with my horse. Love the sonar while mining, as that’s one of the reason I stop playing on my previous farming games. It’s too repetitive and boring. The visual is sooooooo beautiful, including the surrounding scenery. 10/10 for visual.

I'm still surprised that they managed to finally make a neo HM game that can actually stand toe to toe with Story of Seasons proper. Wonder why it took this dang long considering it's Natsume 's Flagship
I like it a LOT more than Fae Farm… and it’s $10 cheaper! There’s a much bigger world to explore, more emphasis on raising animals and growing crops, and the social aspect is better. The only thing Fae Farm does “better” is that there is battling in the mines. Oh, and character customization is a bit better in FF, too. But on the whole, Harvest Moon all the way.

I would definitely recommend Winds of Anthos over One World. One World tried a lot of interesting new things, but they didn’t implement them very well. Winds of Anthos is those same ideas implemented in a much better way.
@elithegaymer Uhh so basically Harvest Moon The Winds Of Anthos is a new game but also updated from previous games by natsume. The last Harvest moon game I played by natsume was on the Nintendo 3ds years ago. Neatless to say ended up liking story of seasons both on nintendo 3ds & Nintendo Switch more but still wanted to give the Harvest moon games by natsume a shot on the Nintendo Switch. Not be totally bias towards just story of seasons~ 🤣💖💕 Thank you I much appreciate your opinion on this~ ✌️
I just can't believe you can't jump in an open world game 😂 It does seem like a pretty big improvement from One World though, so I'm excited to give it a try.
The fishing mini game isn’t too difficult, thankfully. In Stardew Valley I always get so mad when I don’t catch the fish, haha. In this game it’s not quite as stressful as that. I did win the fishing competition last night! And my in-game boyfriend even congratulated me on the win, haha.
Oh nice! does this game have the same stamina gimmick from One World that drops when you walk or are in a heavy climate area? Maybe with time and feedback Natsume will adjust a feel problens like having a way to sell animals or even give them better passives, Im curious to hear more about customization, clothes also about the marriage and what happens after, if there are good events and your children grows up and gets more interactive, such things.

There are at least three outfits in the base game (the original, one for cold weather, one for hot). There’s also the two DLC outfits (the female outfit looks so good!). When I got stuck in the mine, I just kept sprinting and then fainted, haha. I haven’t found any of those animals yet, unfortunately, haha. I have seen foxes, bears, jaguars, and owls.

I feel like with the whole exploration thing it would be really cool if we could set up camp at night so we wouldn’t have to be going back and forth a lot.
The symbols represent the seasons. The leaf represents fall. I think it means that the will grow well that season and might produce hybrids. If you grow a crop outside of that season, it will might need fertilizer.
@@elithegaymer but if you notice there are more than 4 icons, you have: the blossom, sun, maple leaf and snowflake those are the seasons. And you have mountain peaks, volcano and a leaf icon. What do those last 3 mean?
Its nice to see Harvest Moon looking good again. Last time I played a HM was on gamecube and when the split happen both Harvestmoon and seasons just didn't look right. Still thinking if I should get this for ps5 or switch. I just hope Natsume will listen to the players and fix some known issues and make some quality of life updates/
Well… I kind of hate to say it, but I might choose Winds of Anthos. I wanna get to the endgame before I say that for sure, but playing SoS AWL I always felt like it was just missing a little something. I’ve said again and again in many videos that I felt SoS AwL needed some DLC to add a bit more content… but they just left it feeling a bit unfinished in my mind, which is a shame, because I like SoS AWL.
Hey Eli, as you know i have been looking forward to this game for a long time but to be honest i had no intrest in it until i stumbled onto your channel, your videos made me hopeul about the series again. Also i have a question, does this game have Same Sex Marriage?
Yes, you can marry and date any of the ten marriage candidates regardless of your gender! The only thing that’s locked by gender is your outfits. The developers said that the character models for the male and female character are too different so clothing has to be gender locked.
Sounds good to me but I'll wait for a sale especially if it includes dlc later. I'm busy juggling fae farm, rune factory 3, and Disney dreamlight valley right now.
I'm maybe 13 hours in and I can tell you there are 4 spots in the fishing village and they have bomber and I mean BOMBER spots. The great pier, there is a spot in the town near the first sets of shops where you can only fish prawns out of but those prawns are worth big money. Like for comparison I have the first rod upgrade and fishing that single spot for 5 prawns a day will net you thousands. I just fished up 5 and made 7500 off just those 5. Not to include the other 3 spots in that area that have really good fish
My girlfriend bought this game and got bored with it about 3 hours in. I'm about 3 hours in now too, figured I'd check your channel for tips. Was not disappointed.
Unfortunately you cannot change your hairstyle, only the color. There are three outfits in the base game and one DLC outfit. One set for the male character and one other set for the female character.

In about 30 hours I’ve only run into a bug or two (like the one I showed here where I got stuck in the mines). I hope you enjoy it if you go for it! I like it quite a bit!
Right! It’s a lot of work for too little money, haha. Once you get hybrids you make a bit more (because you get 2 crops for one seed) but yeah, early game it’s not a money maker.
@@elithegaymer it can be a money maker if you aren’t buying seeds, no spending means profit lol, idk what seed prices are yet cause I’ve got a full garden of sprite given seeds lol
They sell it in the tool shop (picture of a bag of seeds and a piece of wood). You might have to level up the town one more star if they don’t sell it yet.
Me even more so once it's Nov 17th & Winter because I also pre-ordered Super Mario RPG Remake & the Pokémon Violet DLCs. Part 2 comes in Winter (done with part 1 story & Dex, same with with main game).
Not keen on the gathering animations. There's something satisfying about shaking a tree and the fruit falling before you pick it up for instance. In the footage she was just waving her hand and apples teleported from the tree into her inventory without any animation. Also just running by mushrooms and them teleporting into inventory with no animation seems a bit lazy. Might seem a small thing but it was a bit off putting
I'm just so happy it's better than One World. 😭 (although I know theres some who enjoyed it...I did not enjoy the world that was made but I still got this and I'm so happy I did lol).

Tulip and Daisy are both seeds that you can find. When I get home tonight I can check where they are exactly if you need help finding them (at work right now, haha).
Haha, I didn’t know what I was doing in the beginning, so I pushed my character to the limit a lot. I don’t faint as much anymore. The mine trick helps a lot!
This is the one game that I don't WANT to want, but I still kind of do. I still think Natsume is kind of scummy, taking what is essentially the property of another company, clinging to the empty shell name when Marvellous started translating in-house, then releasing money-grubbing cash grabs to people who don't know any better -- that what is now "Story of Seasons" is the series of games formerly known as Harvest Moon, and that the new Harvest Moon games are their own thing entirely where Natsume claims credit for a long history of games that aren't theirs aside from the language translations. Still, it's nice to see them come into their own and work on making Harvest Moon its own ALMOST respectable series. Well, perhaps I'll give it a shot sometime.
What are those hearts on the bottom of the screen? Is it health or an energy gauge? How long is each day, and can you control the speed of the day? Also, can you save the game whenever you want? I am glad there is a fast travel option too.
The hearts at the bottom are your stamina. You can save and load anywhere except for inside the mines. There doesn’t seem to be a way to control time. I think the days seem about right (not too slow or too fast).
Yeah, I like the game as a whole, but there are definitely also a few areas that I feel could still be improved a bit. The animal system has so much potential but it’s not quite there yet imo.
I wouldn’t consider the day to be too short or too long. Fae Farm I definitely thought the day was too short (and time continues in menus in that game!). In the Winds of Anthos I think only once or twice did I have to go home because it was too late (and I did a LOT those two days).
I personally think that this game is the best of the three games. One World is definitely the worst of the three. In Winds of Anthos, they improved on pretty much everything. A wonderful life is good but I felt like it was missing something. Would have benefited greatly from some dlc or a bit more things to do throughout the day.

Love this honest review! Just wanted to ask: On Steam, it was originally listed as launching today but it suddenly reverted back to "Coming Soon". Would you happen to have any news on what happened with the Steam release?
Natsume replied a bit ago on X saying that the Steam version has some sort of issue that they're working on, and will have it available as soon as possible. They didn't give a timeframe, unfortunately.

I adore this game so much. It's like BOTW but removing all the drama and it's so peaceful. I fell asleep a couple of times to the night time music. It's almost like therapy. I would recommend this to anyone. Good stepping stone for new gamers.

I love this game. I bought it for PS5 and it works great on it. I have to say I love it more than any Story of Seasons games. Harvest Moon series is so underrated now and this makes me sad, because I really appreciate the games fomula. There are so many things to do. The huge world, so many crops, plants variations and I even like the idea that I can move out to other locations. I have a feeling that if it had been published by another company under a different name, the game would have been a success. I don't know why people spend so much energy hating on this series on the Internet. After all, it's better to have more options to choose from... and when there are more options, there is more competition. When there is more competition, companies try harder. The games are better. The Winds of Anthos is the best example. Natsume knew about all the complaints and they improved a lot and this must be appreciated... yet people still there to hate it. And you can see when there is hate and when there is constructive criticism. I appreciate that you play all these Harvest Moon games without prejudice and give them a chance. Thank you!

I'm surprised you didn't go over chatacter customization! I had seen the trailer and saw different options for hairstyles etc. Big oof that it's not much that it didn't even get mentioned lol
But other then that, I really like the look of it from the video, I would love to give it a try, especially if it handles good on switch. I'll pick it up!
The player customization is a bit basic, haha. Basically choose male or female, hair and skin color… and then that’s it. Hopefully future titles can improve upon this aspect.

I have been playing this game for around 25 hours and I really enjoy it so far. I agree with you that it’s a bit struggle to own animals because the feed takes so much effort and it’s also so expensive to buy. But I love the warp function and I can also warp with my horse. Love the sonar while mining, as that’s one of the reason I stop playing on my previous farming games. It’s too repetitive and boring.
The visual is sooooooo beautiful, including the surrounding scenery. 10/10 for visual.

Is it better then fae farm ?? Fae was my most anticipated game. But I didn't enjoy it ans regret wasting my money on it.
I like it a LOT more than Fae Farm… and it’s $10 cheaper! There’s a much bigger world to explore, more emphasis on raising animals and growing crops, and the social aspect is better. The only thing Fae Farm does “better” is that there is battling in the mines. Oh, and character customization is a bit better in FF, too. But on the whole, Harvest Moon all the way.

I would definitely recommend Winds of Anthos over One World. One World tried a lot of interesting new things, but they didn’t implement them very well. Winds of Anthos is those same ideas implemented in a much better way.
@elithegaymer Uhh so basically Harvest Moon The Winds Of Anthos is a new game but also updated from previous games by natsume. The last Harvest moon game I played by natsume was on the Nintendo 3ds years ago. Neatless to say ended up liking story of seasons both on nintendo 3ds & Nintendo Switch more but still wanted to give the Harvest moon games by natsume a shot on the Nintendo Switch. Not be totally bias towards just story of seasons~ 🤣💖💕 Thank you I much appreciate your opinion on this~ ✌️

I just can't believe you can't jump in an open world game 😂 It does seem like a pretty big improvement from One World though, so I'm excited to give it a try.
It's a huge improvement over One World! I was a little bit thrown off by the lack of jumping initially, but got used to it after a while.
How good are you at fishing in the game? I'm normally not great at fishing in games. 😂
The fishing mini game isn’t too difficult, thankfully. In Stardew Valley I always get so mad when I don’t catch the fish, haha. In this game it’s not quite as stressful as that. I did win the fishing competition last night! And my in-game boyfriend even congratulated me on the win, haha.

I know there's the base game one and the DLC one but are there any others? And when you got stuck in the mine did you just have to wait for the day to end to get out?
There are at least three outfits in the base game (the original, one for cold weather, one for hot). There’s also the two DLC outfits (the female outfit looks so good!). When I got stuck in the mine, I just kept sprinting and then fainted, haha. I haven’t found any of those animals yet, unfortunately, haha. I have seen foxes, bears, jaguars, and owls.

It's giving Harvest Moon Winds of Arceus and I am not mad at all. This game looks amazing I will be picking up a copy soon.

Trying to figure out what the leaf symbol on some seeds mean (specifically broccoli). Does someone know?
The symbols represent the seasons. The leaf represents fall. I think it means that the will grow well that season and might produce hybrids. If you grow a crop outside of that season, it will might need fertilizer.
@@elithegaymer but if you notice there are more than 4 icons, you have: the blossom, sun, maple leaf and snowflake those are the seasons. And you have mountain peaks, volcano and a leaf icon. What do those last 3 mean?
The volcano represents the volcano farm. The mountain peaks represent the mountain farm. They would grow best there.@@JustWendy.
Its nice to see Harvest Moon looking good again. Last time I played a HM was on gamecube and when the split happen both Harvestmoon and seasons just didn't look right. Still thinking if I should get this for ps5 or switch. I just hope Natsume will listen to the players and fix some known issues and make some quality of life updates/
I started playing HM as a teenager I think HM3 GBC was my first. But I did see the original Harvest Moon on Gameboy, the original.

Well… I kind of hate to say it, but I might choose Winds of Anthos. I wanna get to the endgame before I say that for sure, but playing SoS AWL I always felt like it was just missing a little something. I’ve said again and again in many videos that I felt SoS AwL needed some DLC to add a bit more content… but they just left it feeling a bit unfinished in my mind, which is a shame, because I like SoS AWL.

Hey Eli, as you know i have been looking forward to this game for a long time but to be honest i had no intrest in it until i stumbled onto your channel, your videos made me hopeul about the series again. Also i have a question, does this game have Same Sex Marriage?
Yes, you can marry and date any of the ten marriage candidates regardless of your gender! The only thing that’s locked by gender is your outfits. The developers said that the character models for the male and female character are too different so clothing has to be gender locked.

I'm maybe 13 hours in and I can tell you there are 4 spots in the fishing village and they have bomber and I mean BOMBER spots. The great pier, there is a spot in the town near the first sets of shops where you can only fish prawns out of but those prawns are worth big money. Like for comparison I have the first rod upgrade and fishing that single spot for 5 prawns a day will net you thousands. I just fished up 5 and made 7500 off just those 5. Not to include the other 3 spots in that area that have really good fish
Yeah, fishing in this game is crazy good… Farming is crazy awful for making money, haha. I hope you’ve been enjoying the game!

The game gets a lot better when you finish the quests in the first town! At least get to the point where you unlock fast jumping.

Unfortunately you cannot change your hairstyle, only the color. There are three outfits in the base game and one DLC outfit. One set for the male character and one other set for the female character.

Right! It’s a lot of work for too little money, haha. Once you get hybrids you make a bit more (because you get 2 crops for one seed) but yeah, early game it’s not a money maker.

They sell it in the tool shop (picture of a bag of seeds and a piece of wood). You might have to level up the town one more star if they don’t sell it yet.

Me even more so once it's Nov 17th & Winter because I also pre-ordered Super Mario RPG Remake & the Pokémon Violet DLCs. Part 2 comes in Winter (done with part 1 story & Dex, same with with main game).
Not keen on the gathering animations. There's something satisfying about shaking a tree and the fruit falling before you pick it up for instance. In the footage she was just waving her hand and apples teleported from the tree into her inventory without any animation. Also just running by mushrooms and them teleporting into inventory with no animation seems a bit lazy.
Might seem a small thing but it was a bit off putting
I'm just so happy it's better than One World. 😭 (although I know theres some who enjoyed it...I did not enjoy the world that was made but I still got this and I'm so happy I did lol).

Pets eat the same food as the livestock. It’s just animal feed. All animals eat it.

Tulip and Daisy are both seeds that you can find. When I get home tonight I can check where they are exactly if you need help finding them (at work right now, haha).

Haha, I didn’t know what I was doing in the beginning, so I pushed my character to the limit a lot. I don’t faint as much anymore. The mine trick helps a lot!
This is the one game that I don't WANT to want, but I still kind of do. I still think Natsume is kind of scummy, taking what is essentially the property of another company, clinging to the empty shell name when Marvellous started translating in-house, then releasing money-grubbing cash grabs to people who don't know any better -- that what is now "Story of Seasons" is the series of games formerly known as Harvest Moon, and that the new Harvest Moon games are their own thing entirely where Natsume claims credit for a long history of games that aren't theirs aside from the language translations.
Still, it's nice to see them come into their own and work on making Harvest Moon its own ALMOST respectable series. Well, perhaps I'll give it a shot sometime.

What are those hearts on the bottom of the screen? Is it health or an energy gauge? How long is each day, and can you control the speed of the day? Also, can you save the game whenever you want? I am glad there is a fast travel option too.
The hearts at the bottom are your stamina. You can save and load anywhere except for inside the mines. There doesn’t seem to be a way to control time. I think the days seem about right (not too slow or too fast).

Yeah, I like the game as a whole, but there are definitely also a few areas that I feel could still be improved a bit. The animal system has so much potential but it’s not quite there yet imo.
I have been hearing the day period is super short and that has me concerned.
I wouldn’t consider the day to be too short or too long. Fae Farm I definitely thought the day was too short (and time continues in menus in that game!). In the Winds of Anthos I think only once or twice did I have to go home because it was too late (and I did a LOT those two days).

There is customization! You start with the basics and then as you level up each town you can get furniture in the style of that town.

I personally think that this game is the best of the three games. One World is definitely the worst of the three. In Winds of Anthos, they improved on pretty much everything. A wonderful life is good but I felt like it was missing something. Would have benefited greatly from some dlc or a bit more things to do throughout the day.
