I had a Acer Nitro 5 in which 1 Gig was used default by the internal GPU Vega 8. So total usable went to around 6.9 gigs and my dedicated GPU VRAM memory gets loaded around 3.6 gigs while my usable ram gets bottlenecked at 6.7 gigs. Now I have upgraded to a new predator system. With 16 gigs , although that Ryzen satisfaction is missing, single core performance is satisfactory on intel.

Go to task manager check page faults. If your regular application lands in a million pages, u should buy a new ram. Also SSD is anytime beneficial, that will process information faster in the boot drive virtual memory (paging space). Altogether its not just RAM, its a combination of CPU as type H processor its cache size RAM size SSD for decent processing. For gamers - GPU is a must.

For people buying ram in 2020, dont settle with 8gb, most newer games especially since 2019 now use over 8gb ram in 1080p, although they are playable with 8gb ram you will notice stutters which greatly affect gameplay, talking from experience. An example is COD warzone, i had to upgrade to 16gb ram from 8gb to get smooth gameplay even though i hit above 60 fps at 1080p on high settings.
I have 8gb ram. Ryzen 3300x gtx 1660 super.. days gone shows error after 30mins playing and turns off .. other games like ac odyseey,origins,metro exodus works fine
in 2023 i'm still using 4GB RAM it carries basic tasks properly like ytube ms office vlc player adobe photoshops adobe readers and other music players properly but not in games...so for basic users who don't play games this much is enough

Go to task manager check page faults. If your regular application lands in a million pages, u should buy a new ram. Also SSD is anytime beneficial, that will process information faster in the boot drive virtual memory (paging space). Altogether its not just RAM, its a combination of CPU as type H processor its cache size RAM size SSD for decent processing. For gamers - GPU is a must.

For people buying ram in 2020, dont settle with 8gb, most newer games especially since 2019 now use over 8gb ram in 1080p, although they are playable with 8gb ram you will notice stutters which greatly affect gameplay, talking from experience. An example is COD warzone, i had to upgrade to 16gb ram from 8gb to get smooth gameplay even though i hit above 60 fps at 1080p on high settings.

No one every talks about this but dont get 12gb of ram. It will run the 8gb stick in dual channel and the 4gb in only single. 12gb looks fine but its not
