100% John wouldn’t have done the reunion without Reni on drums. He loves playing with him, bouncing off him. challenged and amazed by him in equal measure great to watch

Thanks for posting this! I enjoyed it immensely. Ian looks like a thin Neandertal and dances like the British gals in the 1980's, and I absolutely love it! Takes guts to get out there tone deaf and singing, but the songs are beautiful and Ian does have a certain charisma that is unknown by many other singers with much more talent. This is what music should be, honest and fun!

Love the Roses, but even autotune can't completely save Brown. The days before they used it, he couldn't sing for shit live. It's always been more about Squire and Reni. I remember seeing them in Edinburgh, and Brown was completely tone-deaf. Seen some other car crashes he was involved in, like one of the Blackpool gigs. I have wondered in the past, had The Stone Roses actually made it big on the global stage, would they have binned Brown eventually.

Thanks for charing, i saw them in La Cigale in 2013 and it was fantastic, but i do not like so much the end of the tour specially with John only playing Les Paul, just compare Parr Hall concert and this one ! Songs are for sure still very good but the group is not that good, they are on a lazy trend, only Reni seems in. This is my opinion and anyway the Stone Roses will always be in my music panthéon.

I always like Stone Roses live videos but this is a bit of a strange one. There doesn't seem to be much of an atmosphere in the audience, Ian hits a high note at the beginning of Love Spreads, and as you alluded to in the description, he is all over the place in Fools Gold. Also, I don't think that they forgot the second chorus of I Am The Resurrection, I just think he wanted the crowd to sing it, but it didn't catch on.

    • @-cityinthesky99
      @-cityinthesky99  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Agree about atmosphere I personally think that is just a Japanese cultural thing very different to typical British crowds etc. About the second chorus in Resurrection - listen to what Squire plays, they are about the go into the breakdown

It's a shame the thought never crossed the band's mind's to try a new singer, Ian is dreadful here, The only members irreplaceable are the musicians, Ian is an over rated singer he's only in on iconic status alone, Reni is probably the most skilled musician in the band. John's a completely different guitarist then he was on the debut LP, he has a completely different style and tone which is reflected in his gear, a mesa is pretty much the polar opposite of a twin reverb. Brown isn't a strong enough singer for John's more blues rock style playing. Just my opinion of course😊
