All those planeswalkers in one place, better split them up before another oath forms and takes over the narrative for like a decade.
You can tell that Rudy isn't much into recent Magic from how all those walkers freak him out. It's pretty normal to have them like that these days. Pick up one of a kind for EDH, plus a 3-of or 4-of for the odd Standard-deck. and you end up with a pile like that.

Does infect do anything to planes walkers? Wouldn't it not do damage?
No, infect works on them allright. The question is, why would it work better than just regular combat damage? I mean, I get it that if you can only take ten points of damage you'll probably make some different blocking decisions, but other than that?
Volkbrecht so they even if a creature has infect they deal normal damage to a planeswalker? Not -1 -1?

I like how I know nothing about vintage cards and by just consistently watching all your counterfeit videos I've been able to pick up on identifying counterfeits. I was able to correctly guess the two fake lands from the dullness of the color in the lands name. And then when you flipped them around the color of the card backs was a dead give away.
Wow what a beautiful collection despite a few 'bad apples' in there! So many memories going back to when I started playing Magic in 1998.
Also just as an FYI, that Maze's End is probably worth substantially more than a regular one, you'd be surprised at the market for "misprints" out there, even if it's just a "quality" fuck up.

My promo maze's end had the same exact issue. They probably sent them out like that on purpose because of the pre-release crush.
I would have guessed the second Scrubland and the Bayou. The colors of the card name fond were quite different, as in less colorful.
The reddish lettering on the counterfeits gave it away for me. great video tho.

That time spiral thing is happening on the EU market too. It also had a significant increase in the past two years, which is the main reason i bought a playset of it for my spiral tide deck recently faster than i planned to do so. Better keep an eye on that card and urzablock cards in general of course.

When you flip over the cards to show the backs, you can see the two fakes are off-color from the rest of the set (1080p60).

I have some revised thunderbolts and incinerate that shine yellower than modern cards. are those fake too or just the glue they used back then? still the same brightness that comes through though

That garbage quality Mazes End is a pretty sweet misprint. It will fetch a decent premium.
Yea, the fading out ink all over it is not something I've seen much in other misprints.
I've seen a couple in a misprints group. Not this particular card but similar misprints and they always get a huge value on them.

Did you know an oversized card is the same size as two regular MtG cards? (you have to put them next to each other side-by-side)

I'm at 7:50 and going to guess the left scrubland - from the lighter text. Savannah looks sketchy but it could be it's condition and maybe the 2nd Plateau - Lighter text again. Will be back to see how far off I was.

I couldn't tell either. At first I was sure the Bayou was a fake, because of the printing misalignment.

Im an offset printer, and im not sure the volcanic island is fake because of the color..
It's easy to mistake color on a print run. Even if they have to measure the quality very much on such cards!
What you said about the other card's pixels. Thats a decent point about quality.
Could be the digital file, but i cant see that on camera. Can be the offset press plates for each color. If its the plates, it would be a "fake"
Couldn't tell which were fake till you showed the back. They just stood out then.

Looking at the backs of the duals, it's pretty obvious which cards are fake, but in an opaque sleeve it'd be real convincing.

yeah the maze, i knew it was real, i got a full box of alara reborn that was really badly printed, nearly all the text is "double" or just slipped

When you flipped them over, I could tell which were the fakes. There were 4 with dark backs, 4 with light backs, and 2 with weird purple-ish backs. You said 2 were fake, so it had to be the 2 with matching backs.
Same. But I'd imagine these are hard to tell apart without having legit copies to compare to as even legit copies vary in print color
I like oversized for cheap proxies for commander decks where I Just need to scribble on a token the oversized card name :)
A friend pulled a Maze end that was also a misprint and it looked exactly the same
He pulled other two maze end in the same booster box and one of them was foiled

Hey Rudy, I have a question:
While you were looking thru the stack of Planeswalkers cards, I saw that Ugin in Portuguese.
Here in Brazil, Cards that are in Portuguese and English have the same price, but any other Language (Japanese, Italian and Spanish specially) have,as people say, a "15% raise for being more collectable". Do this exists in USA as well or it is a made up concept?
Alex Marzani for the most part in the US non English cards are generally a little cheaper except for certain languages where there are smaller print runs like Russian. And the big exception being FBB.
Yeah, Russian is a also a big deal here. I remember a guy that didn't want to sell me his Aetherflux Reservoir because of it. Can't blame him, Aetherflux Reservoir in Russian is such a beautiful card ahhahaha
Japanese, Italian and Spanish print runs (especially the latter) are larger than any language but English.
But Portuguese also is spoken in only a small number of countries (Brazil and Portugal are the only two I know of).
English is the baseline. Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French are worth less but German is to usually but it has some cards which are not because of the name like Frontbringer, Ubermyr, and other with punny or non-PC names. Traditional Chinese usually costs a little more then english. Japanese, Korean, and russian tend to be more expensive.
As a tier list from most expensive to least its something like:
Russian (foil Russian cards have a huge price increase)
Korean
Japanese
English - Traditional Chinese
German (not counting unique named cards) - Simplified Chinese - Spanish - Italian - French - Portuguese
Russian cards are realy cheap in germany. and i dont get why european cards arent more expensive, the quality is better

Rudy what are you're thoughts on the Dragon ball super card game? its gotten really popular in my area.
A combination of powerful nostalgia and having an anime art style so the yugioh kids will switch over. It's not much a surprise that it's gaining ground and it's not just in your area, many areas around me as well. However after the nostalgia and yugioh kids, how do they plan on expanding to more players? is there support by the company? and is it a Japanese only copy that'll listen to western audience or is it like most Japanese companies, maybe it's a competent western sub-company? If that was the case maybe they'd have the support to build a community like MTG has.
Really it's hard to make a good TCG that gains ground and the community building is key. If no one you know plays anymore, then you aren't playing either. DBSuper has begun to cross that hurtle, but the anime just stopped and that'll have some kind of effect on it, though I have no idea how much or in what way. They also need to bump out new ideas and if they were willing to "what if" cards could give them expansions for 5 or so years.
I want to see him rip one of the fakes down the middle to really show us that it's a fake.

I live in Daytona Beach. I see a lot of collage students playing commander. Males and females. I play standard and a little modern. Buut comander i only play is 1 ledgandry commander and the rest commons and uncommons that i accumulated in my collection from playing standard and draft from 1998 to now. i have a tight budget so there's not a lot of money i put into commander
