How To Replace A Headlight On A 2000 Infiniti

- If you are replacing a headlight assembly or just the light bulb you will need to remove the headlight assembly .In this video I will show you how to remove the light in about 30 minutes.
Thank you for this walkthrough. I have this same car and in the same color. Thought it would be an easy 5-minute fix to swap bulbs...but nope.
Take the wheel off, the wheel well cover off, remove a bolt you cannot see, and carefully remove a bunch of clips while twisting parts in and out without breaking anything--all to replace a lightbulb. Great job Infiniti! I can't imagine how much fun you had putting that bolt back in by feel underneath. Why couldn't they make it so you just take the lens cover off? Is it the same procedure for the driver's side? What about the other light bulb in the assembly?
Ended up doing all these steps just to find out autozone gave me the wrong bulbs. I got to put it all back together and do it again the next day 👍

Nothing is like it use to be .When I tell a customer that I have to remove the bumper cover to change a bulb they can not believe it.

Exactly! I thought I was going the cheaper route by purchasing the bulb and installing it myself. But it seems that I will have to bite the bullet and have my mechanic do it and pay for manual later as well.

For my partner's 1997 I30 Infiniti I followed your directions and punted after a couple of hours jacking up the car, removing the wheels, wrestling with the fender protector and trying to get to the can't even be seen nut, etc. On further exploration, I found that the headlights can be removed very easily (like any other car that I know of) right out of their location in the back of the headlight/lights compartment. Besides the trivial unscrewing of the headlight in it's holder and screwing in the new light, there were 2 plastic screw rivets holding a thin sheet on metal on the passenger side that protected the area around the back of the headlight/lights compartment. Perhaps there was something very special about the 97 Infiniti but I totally doubt it.

(Xenon bulbs (arc type) don't have filaments), but it is of course good practice never touch the glass. Those generic no brand xenon bulbs have tendency to slowly burn projectors because they don't have any UV-protection in the glass. Good job and subscribed!!

Dem ratchets are handy in tight corners and are a must have in the shop. Next model will need to drop the engine ! Happy days are here again 😁.

A neighbor friend asked if I would install a headlight bulb on her 2001 Audi. I agreed and pulled the car into my garage. Had to remove the front grill, lower the front bumper and remove the driver's side tire and plastic inter-fender cover just to get to all the fasteners. What a pain in the tush!!!! Almost two hours to complete.
I think that the manufactures just like to screw with us.Lol

autozone shows the same bulb type for low and high beam, plastic connector on the base in an L shape. The video shows the bulb for low beam with no connector, just slides into the slot. Which is it?
so, checked Autozone & Napa, they each show 9006 for the low beam. WRONG

Nice 1969 350 Impala.From what I recall you will need to jack up the engine about 3-4 inch off the mounts.That should give you room to get the pan out.If you need the procedure let me know I will send it to you.
Yeah i had jacked it up all it could thanks jim. Yeah its a green 4 door should have it back all back together mañana.
Be careful I think when you jack up the engine the distributor is very close to the firewall.Just remove the distributor cap so it don't get damaged.

More complicated than replacing a light bulb in my 1985 Toyota Tercel and the 1995 Toyota Avalon. Infiniti did that on putlrpose I bet.

It is a pain at time's i went to replace my left side bulb and almost pulled off the battery for nothing it has two rod's holding the unit in place super ez i almost made it a big job for nothing. That's the way they mount them on my silverado.

For the average person, it will take 1 hr minimum.
Is this an April Fool's Joke or what??? Although, I did this two days ago your video is totally incorrect and misleading!. Open hood, disconnect negative cable ( good tip) Two 10mm bolts on top of Headlamp assembly. Wiggle the dam thing loose... there is a body mount clip that goes to the body in the center on the bottom of the unit that fixes the assembly. That's it, no round about Bureaucracy or "Asterix" cartoon video telling you to go to window #2 or to remove a tire. For the Low beam you remove the three screws at the housing pull the regulator, pull the bulb. It's that simple No Jack Required!
