Outstanding! This old school Soviet fountain pen vibe can be found in many Indian acrylic and ebonite fountain pens as well. I personally love Click pens (especially Click Aristocrat, Orion and Renaissance) for keeping the nostalgia alive in their pens.
You had me at TWSBI-Benu Frankenpen! I got the Talisman Firefly Stone in fine, but I couldn't get the fine nib to to write much less wet than a medium, so I had to change inks & it actually helped make a pale purple ink look like a darker purple. But I want to get another Benu that I see discounted on line, but broad is all they have at that price, so I've been searching a nib alternative. This is it. I LOVE TWSBI nibs! Thanks!
@@KatiesCraftStudio Thx, I saw the finest they have is fine, which is what I have, but it writes like a fat medium. And I've seen other people online saying the same thing, so I feel I'd like to try the TWSBI alternative since I have fine & medium on them & I'd be extremely happy with either of those with a new Benu Euphoria. I've been having my eye on the Ocean Breeze for a while & found it about $35 off the regular price, so the amt I save will give me spare cash to do the TWSBI swap. 😍 I also just saw today one called Rose Tea. I'll have to think hard about it since I just got my Christmas Club money.😄
Hi Katie! I just had to thank you for this awesome video. Yup, just got my Benu Euphoria Iced Caramel Latte in Broad. I love stub nibs so I need to travel down Nib Swap Lane!!! Your video gave me the encouragement to go ahead. I know Twsbi nibs are nice and smooth so I’ll probably get a Vac700 in stub 1.1 to try out❤ Enjoy your 🖋 journey ❤️🙋🏼♀️👏👍
@@KatiesCraftStudio I also have the Iced Caramel Latte in Broad. Whilst the Broad nib is ok, I'd much prefer a stub. Going to give this a try, thank you 🙂
This is such a great video. I have 3 Euphorias but the Schmidt nibs just don't do it for me. I'm going to try the swap to the Jowos. Assuming the TWSBI Vac700R unit still works for these (?).
Thank you for this info! I have fallen rather hard for a Benu body but prefer a different nib so I've resisted. So far. You've given me hope! Id like to know, have you continued to use the Benu with the vac 700R nib unit, by chance? Has it been reliable? It looked like the O-rings were maybe preventing it screwing in as far as would be ideal, preventing the converter from seating really well, and without any O-rings it seemed maybe to leak a bit around the feed, perhaps one O-ring is the sweet spot? Have you reached any further conclusions? Thanks!
@@elmac3 yes, I still use it with the 700R nib all the time. I honestly don't remember what I did about the rings but I've never had a leaking problem. Keep your eye on my channel, though, I also have a custom Jowo section coming my way soon.
Thanks again, Katie. You opened my eyes to what's possible with these pens. I found that Fpnibs sells a flex nib that fits my BENU body, and after a little bit of smoothing (I'm a lefty so the slight snagging I felt may not have been noticeable to a righty, perhaps), I am a very happy camper, with a dramatic nib to go with my dramatic pen!
Hi Angel, of that list I only have a Benu so I'm of limited help. For me it's the right combo of things, the body is fun and interesting and the nib is great (and swappable). The Sailor is, in my opinion, all nib and the Visconti's (based on what I've heard) are all body. But how you value those elements is a personal decision.
I don’t love any particular Benu body yet (although this one is very pretty), but I have heard nothing but rave reviews on their Schmidt nibs, and I would love to try a Benu nib maybe on one of my Jowo compatible hand turned pens! This was helpful for thinking about that!
I love the comfort of my Benu, but can't stand the stock nib. This is a game-changer! Thank you so much!
Have fun! I've had the TWSBI nib in mine since that video over a year ago!
This video is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Oh I'm so glad! Thanks for telling me!

@@NameLikeNobodyElse this is still what I use all the time, but it is worth mentioning that Gold Spot also sells separate nib units for Benu as well

Just successfully completed this to get a Broad nib on my Euphoria, worked like a dream. TYSM!

It still works! I use it in my Earl Gray Euphoria everyday. I also have a new solution coming soon

If all you wanted was a different sized nib, Benu sells spare nibs separately on their site and as an option with each pen.
I know, I like to put my custom ground nibs in there too 😊
But they don’t offer a stub nib
They do not have stub nibs, which is what I want.

Whoa, that is gorgeous! I cant believe how much I am drawn to the Benu Pens, they are way out of my usual aesthetic :) Super helpful video, thanks!!
Thank you! Benus sneak up on people 😝
This is the Vac 700R or the Vac 700 that fits the Benu Euphoria.

Im debating on a benu, 24k kt sailor, or entry lvl Visconti. What do you think? 🤔😊 Also thanks for sharing this video! ❤️

Benu comes out with so many bodies that eventually one of them will speak to you (probably). But in the meantime playing with nibs is fun!
