i love the boldness to actually do this!! i had the same idea in my B6 slim but ultimately decided that the page layouts wouldn't actually work for me, so i completely abandoned the journal :( its so gorgeous though so i do feel bad haha. i ended up buying sterling ink's blank grid notebook in the B6 slim size to use as a bullet journal so i can create my own layouts. but i love what you did with yours! B6 slim supremacy!!!

Love that these planners are so versatile and customizable.

I’ve definitely done similar with notebooks! I would have taken the cover off, overlapped the excess spine on the back cover with the other spine with the pages you kept and glued the end paper to that slimmer text block, if that makes sense. But ultimately it looks like you won’t need to do that. It looks brilliant. ☺️ always here for any sort of notebook massacre

A strip of wide washi on the whole incision would cover the tiny hole and also give strength to the rear cover??

I think you did a good job, Katie. Definitely not reckless to me! Last week you inspired me to make my own passport size horizontal week on 2 page booklet. I was going to buy SI's or PTD's passport booklet, but the cost for just the booklet seemed stupidly expensive given that I have all the materials to make one and I can design my own planner pages using Word and copious tables. LOL I don't have the best tools and materials - I need a better paper trimmer and would love to use Kokuyo biz paper instead of regular 32 lb copy paper - but what I have is good enough for my needs atm. I was only able to make a quarterly booklet instead of a semiannual one given the thickness of the copy paper, but I'm happy that I flexed my crafty muscles for a change. 🙂

Could you comment on how well your Sailor Procolor seals? I love how mine writes...but the dry out is really bad. (If I leave it for a week half the ink will evaporate from the converter...) I'm trying to figure out if this a common issue or if mine is defective.

I have a Kinbor A5 that i used to journal this year. Its a chunky girl! I have to fd it back to make a level writing soace and the spine has held up just fine. I ordered another one for 2025 because i got the red covers with the chinese yewrly animals. I really love mine! ❤

I love your ingenuity! I add pockets to my clear cover for note pads and memo pads for a similar purpose, i do it with adhesive pockets, and it works out to have the same capabilities. I've tried to use ring memo pads in my planners before, like you're trying out, they always caused issues for me unfortunately, partly the ring mechanism, partly flopping around too much and partly causing an uneven lump when writting in my main planner cuz it wasnt the same size. I have settled for those super thin hobonichi memo pads instead and just slide one in the front cover and one in the back cover of my planner, utilizing the adhesive pockets (i can't do strings, those create lumps that bother me too) so i just go with a codex. I can't wait to see the cover you create and what setup you'll settle on! ❤❤❤

What kind of paper do you print your photos on? … I use photo paper & the thickness of the photo paper makes the tomoe river paper stiff & not as nice to flip through

I use an Archer and Olive notebook its great a bit expensive but if you want a huge book walmart has a a4 lined notebook for 1.92 cant beat that with a 10 foot pole :)

Some people like to have a planner for work and one for home, but if you aren't someone that "plans" a whole lot, but more of a journaler, then consider using the monthly, weekly, and daily for different types of planning. Like monthly for anything related to kids school and events, weekly for work, and daily for personal. The planner doesn't have consistently plan the same events on the three structures. I dont know your life, of course, so thr above example was very general.

Why not just use the Kenmore for some thing in your life that takes up time like a hobby sports cooking and just use that for that type of entries or whatever topic or topics you decide on maybe just a common place book for random ideas or categories you wantto research or are interested in you could use the days as your index pages

You had me at TWSBI-Benu Frankenpen! I got the Talisman Firefly Stone in fine, but I couldn't get the fine nib to to write much less wet than a medium, so I had to change inks & it actually helped make a pale purple ink look like a darker purple. But I want to get another Benu that I see discounted on line, but broad is all they have at that price, so I've been searching a nib alternative. This is it. I LOVE TWSBI nibs! Thanks!
