The first name that popped into my head for who the inaugural Women’s United States Champion should be, was Chelsea Green. It’s between her or Michin honestly
The first champion should be Candice LaRae imo. A woman that has never held a singles title in WWE (Speed doesn't count), but has been in the company since 2017. She's the 3rd oldest women on the roster (1-Asuka, 2-Natalya), so her career needs this moment sooner rather than later, similar to how LA Knight needed it. For the road to Wrestlemania, you want a good story for the belts first-ever appearance. So it'd be best to have a heel hold the belt initially so that there's a satisfying chase for a face, like Mia Yim, to ultimately conquer the villain on the grandest stage. Candice can also be a workhorse. She's a consistently great match, whilst also being a very solid promo. If you want a safe pair of hands that's a company gal who is also respected by the lockerroom and also benefits heavily from the title themselves, Candice might be the best option.
Candice is great but she’s not going to make the title prestigious. It should be a well-established name like Bayley or Charlotte. Candace as the first champion would make the title less meaningful.
Disagree to a degree. Chelsea should hold the title and then put over Candice and then see what momentum she can bring. If she can't bring any momentum have another placeholder like Naomi or Bayley and then they could put someone over like Jade or Michin
@@CulEdz The belt is supposed to be less meaningful than a World Title.... that's the whole point. Having someone, who is already established as a main-eventer, win the first ever mid-card title completely removes the point of it's existence. You need a mid-carder to win the belt, so it signifies that this is not a world title caliber belt. It's there to elevate the talent that is not quite ready to be at the top, allowing them to iron out any issues and dial in their character/presentation, or wrestlers that haven't had the opportunity to showcase their talents in full. Only once a few mid-carders have had their reigns should anyone like a Charlotte go anywhere near that belt.
How about this, Chelsea does her usual shenanigans tries to steal a win but ends up winning her first tournament match with like a very clean roll up now she’s like, wait I did all myself and then she goes at it again for the other match and by just a miracle she does the samething a clean roll up but this one was more creative like it comes out of nowhere. Now for the final match she’s gain so much confidence that’s she goes at it alone and gives a performance of a lifetime and hits her finisher and wins the belt and tell everyone I told you so.
It should be Chelsea Green cause we need more character based champions. Too many ring generals. This is WWE not AEW, we want good characters not workhorses.

Ahree with you on Chelsea. The first champion should be a workhorse. Chelsea is a great character but she's isn't strong enough in ring to establish the title.
Yes!!!! Michin should carry that title first. Chelsea winning it only to have piper help her out is the same as liv as champion. That title won’t mean anything after a few months if Chelsea is the inaugural champion
Michin should be. Chelsea is a great character but we already have a champion that needs help winning in Liv Morgan. Michin has put in the work puts people over and really deserves that spotlight for once.
If we’re looking for a true “winning” champion, Mia Yim isn’t the first person that comes to mind. She’s done great work, but not someone who immediately elevates anything at all.
Saturday mornings at 1am was the WCW time slot here in NZ And as a kid it was hard to stay up and then it would get bumped to 3am and no way would be waking
My question going 1st & involved in the thumbnail, makes me feel honored 🎖 & i totally agree with you Steve, Mia Yim is my other choice (tied with Chelsea). Now you want me to see a tournament & having it end it Chelsea Green vs Piper Niven or Mia. Or going a different route with Naomi vs Jordynne Grace 🤯 I just hope they go all out & use all the women that's not involved with the women's World championship & add in some successful NXT names...maybe a couple TNA 🤷🏽♂️
Have Chelsea Green beat whoever the first champion is at Wrestlemania. Have her go on a winning run, last 4 in the Rumble, runner up at the Chamber, win the US belt at Mania.
I feel like Chelsea can win via shenanigans at first, after a few months she starts to show more in ring skill and retains more by actually wrestling. The more months go by the more everyone wants to challenge her to get the belt off of her. After she loses at Mania to whoever, she releases she needs to wrestle and stop winning strictly via shenanigans. This gives Chelsea the Title to do some amazing character work and establishes the belt as something that everyone wants for reasons other than "ooh shiny." Also I feel like Mox going after talent like OC and Danny Garcia who haven't done a whole lot over the years is the entire point. Mox is saying to them "You were supposed to be better and you've just been coasting for years. It's time to step up or step aside." And then he proceeds to murder them.
I'd love to see them elevate Alba Fyre for the US title, she was an amazing womens champion in NXT UK and they haven't done a great deal with her since. Maybe not first champ, but definitely a good showing in the lead up I think would do her great.
I like lash for the first purely because she came out of nowhere. She had her talk show thing, did a solo bit but blew up with Meta four. Now when you look at her showing up on main roster with Jade Cargil having tons of hype and the look, Bianca the ultra athlete, she comes off as the missing 3rd member outcast. Like how did we miss her. She's one of the few people who look like she can match Bianca in a fair match.
I reckon with the whole 2 night Wrestlemania there's that incentive to do 1 night in one city and the 2nd night in another city. Split the roster for the weekend. Have a bunch of guys and girls in Detroit for night 1 and the others in London for night 2.
best ways to earn this new Women's US title: 1. Tournament, top 8 on SmackDown, maybe even 16 if you open it to NXT talent 2. Qualifiers that lead to a 6 Woman Ladder match like the Women's North American title. 3. Qualifiers that lead to a Triple Threat/Fatal 4/etc. NEVER a battle royal.
I agree with Michin, she is one of the most entertaining wrestler on the WWE woman's roster. She needs more show time. If it is defending a title all the better.
Saw Jordynn Grace at an independent show last night. She's great on tv but seeing her up close in a small venue and how fluid she is was incredible. Push her to the moon and give her the US title

Judging from cole's comment it seems like the women us title may be a travel title so their might not be a women's intercontinental title. But I have a few names on both sides of the brands that could be the first champion, both mid carders & established workhorse wrestlers. Smackdown would be mia yim, naomi, Candice larae or Chelsea green & on raw Lyra valkyria, Kairi, or io shirai as the established workhorse champion. If you ain't gonna give the woman's world champion or tag titles to io shirai might as well make her the first us champion & make her the established women to beat. Their are three other names I could see it being for three different reasons that would suck & I don't think people would like. 1.Raquel just to give her & liv Morgan titles, 2. Tiffany cashes in her mitb contact on the us title finals instead of the main women's title, or a returning Charlotte wins the title first😬.

It's kinda lame they're just using the exact same names and designs as the men's midcard belts for the women's. World and specific division title like Cruiserweight and Tag Team are one thing, but the US and Intercontinental titles are specific titles with their own specific branch of history. They should have revived the European Title and maybe had the Smackdown belt be called a TV Title since it'll now be the main WWE show on network TV.
