    The thing I appreciate most about rugby players at a high level like this is that when they get a red, they don't shout or go nuts or argue like soccer or a lot of other professional athletes. They take it and walk away. Because most of the time, they already know it's going to happen because they know the rules.

      As a Uruguayan, being Futbol (soccer) and Rugby my two beloved sports, I couldn't stress enough how mad it makes me watching soccer players diving, pretending and crying like big babies. My applause to the rugby referees and players who respect the rules like gentlemen.

    Head clashes are generally just timing gone wrong unless forwards are recklessly charging into the breakdown.Tip tackles are another thing all together especially when players can pull out or lower the opponent safely and dont.

    • @michaelbaker7499
      @michaelbaker7499 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep. A lot of these could be down to bad timing.
      Things think bastero (or however the French 13's name is spelt) striking the opponent in the ruck, that's a different story.

    How on earth can you call this a list of rugby's most deserved red cards when you omit Duncan McRae's red card after he pinned Ronan O'Gara on the floor and repeatedly punched him in the face?
    Also, special mention should go to manu tuilagi for the most deserved red card that wasn't a red card. After punching Chris Ashton repeatedly in the head.

      Like the ref said, it was never legal so mitigation. It was a shoulder charge, no arms, and got him in the head. Read all day

    Refs need to start using the term, “forearm shiver” when calling those forearm hits.

    Sam Cane one was definitely not a red card, 100% yellow card at most, that refs and TMO needs their eyes checked because there is mitigation but they both say no mitigation.

      @@RugbyClanOfficialWould suggest if you going to try compiling this type of video again, that you just show clips where referee immediately gives red card. Those are what your video title is deserving of.
      But showing tackles where yellows were awarded, and then tackle being upgraded to red are simply wrong!

  • @joshuabarnett7354

    INSANT RED CARD!

  • @BVHooligan
    @BVHooligan 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think the Red should be for flagrant foul play or reckless play. About 50% of these were poor technique or bad luck. Poor technique should receive a Yellow at worst. Rugby is a contact sport. It's getting to the point where you need to field a 16th player : A Lawyer who can tuck in behind the fullback and negotiate with the Referees.

    • @andrewmathews6005
      @andrewmathews6005 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sam Cane's red was correct as per the rules, but the rules need to be addressed as it was ridiculous for that to be any more than a penalty.

      South Africa one was way more worthy of a red card than Sam Cane one was. The South African coach probably paid the English refs to cheat in the final just like they did in the Quarterfinals and Semifinal.

  • @hellas_crater
    @hellas_crater 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I hate to sound like a grumpy old fart, but about 1/2 of these don't deserve reds, & 20 years ago they might not even have been penalties. When you go in for a wrapping, ball-&-all tackle, there's always a chance that your shoulder will make glancing contact above the neck, but virtually no harm is done. There's just no way that THAT "offence" is worthy of the same in-game punishment as a stiff or swinging arm across the face, or hitting a bloke in the air while's jumping to catch a bomb, or knees in the back, or a late hit on a kicker, etc ........

    • @jimmy18scot
      @jimmy18scot 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Maybe but it’s all about safety now, especially when there is irrefutable evidence that head and neck injuries have a direct link to Alzheimer’s and MND so I’d say the extra caution is definitely warranted.
      To be fair, lots of the incidents in this video were absolutely deliberate and most of the red cards were bang on

    Mitigation, and degree of danger. These words should never be used in the game of rugby. Save it for the judiciary and suspend players after the game.

    If it was american football those tackles would be legal mainly because of the helmet and shoulder pads hence why they wear them. Maybe Rugby should look into the same technology and make it compulsory before rugby is reduced to ripper rugby.
