Good timing to dig this comment up lol. He is truly going to be an incredible father. I can see it having a lot of ups and downs for both him and Ryland, it will be a big learning curve. It always is that way with becoming a parent but even more so for these two. But they'll do amazing and love their children and do what they truly feel is right. I just hope they listen to the people around them and try to see things from every perspective as they learn.

And whenever he does pick me up (which hardly happens) an says he "supports" me with softball, all I can think about it how he has gone to 2 games I have played in 5 years. I play select, so I have played thousands of games in that time.

My dad and I didn't speak for 10 years due to his emotional abuse, and I know how that pain creeps up ok you and weedles it's way into every aspect of your life, your relationships, your own self-worth. Yet all you want is that bone-deep love and security that only a parent can provide. It's hard as hell, and fixing that relationship is even harder... My heart absolutely ached for Shane in this video. 😢

Same thing with my mom. She’s tried so hard to do right by me even after my dad died and she became a single mom for a few years. She admits there are things she would have done differently, but I know she was doing the best she could with what she had and that’s all I could ever ask of her ❤

I have a memory from 1st grade when it was mother’s day, and i remember we were making cards. One of the kids wrote it to their dad instead. They got in trouble and started crying and i remember the teacher saying “Were writing mother’s day cards! Not father’s day cards. You need to learn to follow directions” and the kid choked out “But i don’t have a mom!” and the teacher was silent. I still think about that moment a lot.

Yeah my dad's in jail and that happens to me at one point while it was on Father's Day I mean I was going to school was over the summer but oh I know it was people were sitting there making Father's Day gifts and everything when I didn't have an actual dad to give them to I just had to give them to my stepdad which I really love him is just I don't want to actually have a father cuz my father is in jail so I know how you feel your cousins and how that one kid felt

I swear when you started crying, I completely broke. My biological father left my mom, sister, and I when I was born and I have never met him or seen him ever. I don't know what he looks like or what he is like at all. When I was about five, my mom got married to my 'dad'. I call him my dad because he has been there for me when my real father wasn't. Through this marriage, my mom and him had two kids, my little brother and sister. Last summer my mom and him separated. It was awful and I didn't know if he was still going to be there for my older sister and I. But he stayed. He stayed and took us in as if we were still his kids. This is something my biological father has never done.
Thank you so much Shane for telling us these things about you because whether you know it or not, you are actually helping some of us. I go through the struggle everyday of wondering whether my biological father loves me or not. But after hearing you say those words about being thankful for the people who take care of you, you've made me realize just how lucky I am to have my mom and 'dad'. I love them to death and I thank the Lord I have them. Love you Shane. ❤

This is my favorite series. My dad died when I was 7 so I understand what it's like to grow up without a father and how much it must have meant to reconnect with him in this series. When I was a teenager, I used to always think about what it would be like to meet him again when I was older and this series is pretty much how I imagined it would be. I miss you Shane and hope you come back to keep making meaningful videos like this. ❤️

Shane is definitely right that it can look different when you’re an adult. My dad left when I was a kid and he left me with an abusive mother. I thought I would never forgive him for that. But I found out later she was horrible to him and he never thought she would turn on me and my sister. So he left because it’s all he knew how to do. But when I grew up, and surprise surprise married an abusive man, and I needed help getting me and my daughter away from him I called my dad. Me and my daughter have been living it with him for five years now. He paid for me to go back to school and he has been a wonderful grandfather to my daughter. This is a man that I hated so much when I was a child and now I don’t know what I would do without him.
That’s a really huge deal Shane I’m so proud of you for reconnecting with your dad. I’m sorry you didn’t have a good childhood and you didn’t get a chance to enjoy being a kid. I have family issues too. Alcoholism and depression and divorces really fucked me up. And I still have trouble trusting people. But I’m proud of you Shane

I never had a dad. At least, I don’t allow myself to think and feel about him in that way now , anymore. Ever. I’ve been in a very depressed state, and you’re the only one ( and jeffree ) who makes me laugh after my mom passed away from 10 years of suffering. And like... I don’t know, I’m just thankful that you exist, and I’m thankful that you continue do what you love.

I feel like me and him are kinda the same because:
My dad cheated on my mom and my mom and dad got a divorce when I was 5 and from there he tried to make my moms life hell and they would argue all the time and when I didn’t call him he would call the police and they would come to my house. Then when I was 10-11-12-13 which is now I eat all the time and now I’m insecure about my body because I have fat thighs and stretch marks all of my thighs and when I wear shorts my younger cousins ask me what are those. And I tell them. But ever since I stared watching Shane Dawson he has made me laugh and smile and he makes me feel like I’m not alone in life. And even though he might not read this all I want to say is Thank You

Monica Gartner oh this is about the fifth or sixth video I've watched of Shane I can tell the passion in his soul he has for people more than any other TH-camr I have watched on here in the last couple years. The reason I started watching TH-cam and musically is because my husband passed away and I couldn't get out of bed for long so my granddaughter turned me on to the internet which helped me to keep from being so depressed. I thank God that I came across Shane Dawson don't care how long it takes me to watch all his vlogs but that is my mission in life right now. I love this young man and don't even know him.
