Sorry for the video audio quality! I didn't realize until it was too late. I appreciate you watching and it won't happen in the future. Thanks for you patience as I learn.
Thanks for this interesting video. I agree with everything 100%. One thing I should mention - the sound quality is pretty low on this video, lower than your usual videos. It made it a little hard to understand you sometimes. But I still enjoyed it very much, and thought it was a much-needed message.
Yes thank you! The audio was not great (I messed up a camera setting) and I tried to fix it but there wasn’t much else to do. Hopefully it won’t happen again and I appreciate you watching anyway!
So, how does intuitive eating work when the person is morbidly obese? I have been told by multiple healthcare providers that I need to lose weight because of my health, eg. diabetes management. I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject.
This is a great question! First, I'm so sorry that you continue to be told to loose weight instead of getting support around management of diabetes. This is not ok. Because IE isn't a weight loss program or diet, but rather a way of creating a new/more peaceful relationship with food, it is useful for anyone at any size. Intuitive eating can still be done alongside of medical nutrition therapy for management of diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Additionally, intuitive eating has been shown to decrease binge eating and increase food variety, all of which help tremendously in the management of many diseases. I could offer more, but let me know if you want me to create a video on anything specific!
@@KatherineMetzelaar Thank you for your quick response! I would like to learn more about how to balance the two. I feel like I'm getting pulled in two different pathways. My doctor suggested that I have surgery to lose weight and manage my diabetes, but I don't want to have surgery. I would rather do something like this, but I'm confused about how it works because there are no "rules". I'm told to keep numbers like carb counts and calories. Thank you for reading and answering my questions!
@@jorgerivera7044 you’re welcome! What I might recommend if it feels ok is to seek out a weight inclusive dietitian that specializes in diabetes. Here’s a few people and accounts to check out that I know of ( on Instagram) and to maybe consider doing a consult with: @erinphillipsnutrition and @foodfreedomdiabetes
@@jorgerivera7044 thank you! I really appreciate you watching the videos and for being here. Let me know if you have any requests or questions future videos.

I lost weight, because I stopped the food noise and binge eating by eating intuitively.
That can happen too :) The tough thing is we don't know what will happen to weight throughout our journey. Thanks for sharing your experience!

My intuition wants to be fat. I don't. The hell with intuitive eating, I watch my calories. It's the only thing that works
