I had a kasparov set (i broke up with a woman, her son liked playing chess on it so i just left her keep it for him)...the international master one. Definitely the same piece structure. The piece size looks pretty close.
Yes these are nice sets, and for some it may have nostalgic value since Kasparov is associated with them and Pavilion were a Toys "R" us brand. The larger rooks are interesting and I like the wooden board colors which appears to have mahogany for the lighter squares. The larger sized Kasparov ones are harder to find, but you can still find these on ebay. I saw one where it appears the darker pieces were of a brownish color. Mine are black so there may be variations.
Hi, i found a Kasparov wooden foldable chess set included with those chess pieces that you have. Is it a rare find and what is the name of the foldable kasparov wooden set? I'm planning to purchase it and meet the seller in person. Usually what is price on the market for these chess pieces alone?
If it is like the pieces I have in the video with a 'K' stamped in the rooks it is a rarer find. They are out there, but not too common. The Spruce-Tek pieces come in 2 sizes, smaller ones with a king below 3" and a larger set. When they come with a folding board [Kasparov brand feature] they're called: 'Kasparov Travel Chess' for the smaller pieces. The larger pieces are called: 'Kasparov Championship Chess Set'. When they are the smaller pieces in a cabinet style board like mine in the video [Pavilion/Toy-R-Us feature] they're called: 'Deluxe Tournament Chess'. With the smaller set they're usually about $60 and below with or without shipping. The larger ones can easily be over $100 and they're usually with a non-folding board. I've only seen the larger pieces alone without a board a few times but don't remember the price. The company that makes these also makes other chess pieces that look kind of similar, and also metal versions. But the Kasparov set is very particular, especially with 'K' on the rooks and knight's profile. Good Luck!
@@asherasatorthank you so much for your insight and prompt response. What do you think about the weight of the pieces? Are they weighted? I’m fairly new to chess. Update! I’ve just confirmed that there are K stamps on the rooks.
@@itsiqbalgaming I only have the smaller ones, and they're not heavily weighted. I don't know about the larger sets since I haven't handled them. They're not wood, but a resin: Spruce-Tek, that's more durable. If they have a 'K' on the rooks they are a Kasparov set.

Hi again, if there is the K stamp, are the pieces made out of wood or plastic? and are they weighted nicely?

@@asherasator oh no! I'm disappointed to find out that they are not made out of wood. Is there any downsides to resin chess pieces? Thank you.
