Been waiting on you brothers to do this review! I really like what Acura did here. They kept their philosophy true, but brought a far more competitive car to the class. The interior is well thought out, although I do wish Acura would've made the infotainment a touchscreen. However, I'm really impressed with the low, uncluttered dash. This thing will keep the ongoing rejuvenation fresh at Acura.
I hate all those buttons they have in it but the look of the interior is nice.

The exterior is beautiful. I really don’t like the execution of the grille, but I love the proportions and the stance of this car. Great improvements, Acura! This gives me hope again for this brand.

Huge improvement from the previous model especially the interior. I've sat in the old one several times & it didn't look & feel any nicer than an Accord IMO. Can't wait for the Type S.

Wow! I've been waitinf for this review. The new TLX is stunning, even without the A-Spec package. The interior is beautiful too. I'm also pleasantly surprised to find power-folding mirrors on this car, but not on the RDX. And as a bonus, I love the purple paint on this one. Thank you so much Drew and Mason for the awesome video, I can't wait to see you guys drive the Type-S version. ❤

Right? It’s missing some key luxury features power rear sunshades, power telescoping steering wheel ,panoramic roof hoping they add some of these features.

Very nice. For an advance trim I was hoping they could of added usb charging units from the bottom of the rear climate vents.
Those slim headlights make it look mean 👿😈 Love the new styling minus those exhaust tips.

I'm still not sure why people are comparing this car to the 3-series or C-class. It is almost 195" long. That is the size of a Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Cadillac CT5, BMW 5-series, and Mercedes E-class. Hence, not "compact." And when you make those comparisons, the back-seat room and trunk space are pretty bad (except perhaps for the Cadillac CT5, which has an anemically-small trunk for its size).
I don't quite understand the manual adjustable steering wheel in a car that'll cost close to $50k. Wish it were touch screen.
Yeah , I was looking for a powered adjustable steering wheel , not manual. My 2017 MDX has a powered steering wheel.
Great video as always! You guys always have the details that I want, and I really enjoy your down-to-earth presentation style. Just saw 2 with the advance pkg at the dealer, one Phantom Black Pearl, the other Lunar Silver. IMO both were stunning, amazing what a great job they did on the proportions. To my eye, it has the same presence and elegant swagger of the 6 series gran coupe, I wouldn't change the outside a bit! And I rarely have more than one person with me, so interior space is fine. What I would like however, is to have the tt V6 in the Advance pkg. I like the idea of powerful elegance and equipment without all the boy racer cues, trim, and dark wheels.

@@CarConfections Or with the RLX Sport Hybrid going away, perhaps that powertrain would appeal to those desiring more amenities and with the cash to make it happen! Offering the racy ttV6 with all the racing cues and a sophisticated sport hybrid, they'd really have performance covered. I'm really feeling this car, can you tell!?

Power Steering wheel and a digital dash would be nice too.
I just imagine if Acura designers use that are over start button & front of left central air vents to Dynamic Mode Selector.
Also, move Gears Buttons to left, instead of central area where is Auto Shutdown & Brake Hold buttons move, and keep right area for Wireless Changing Pad.
Canceling of current Wireless Charging Pad, could allow more space for storage behind Gear Shifter & more are for hand resting.
I can understand keeping Hazard Button on same distance between The Driver & Front Passenger, as if the Driver get problems, but Gear Shifting.. no can not.
This car is the best Acura did since the legend. Beautiful car. I want it.
The interior is way too busy IMO. No touch screen, some of the door controls are hidden by the door handle, the metal speakers are also kind of hidden when the door is shut.

Best Car I ever Drove was a Acura TL 2004 model- and I Bought it at that very Acura Lexington Kentucky and 7 years latter they bay back the car for very good money 💴

So the car is bigger & heavier but less space in the cabin & the trunk??? I really don’t like that. I had a 2020 TLX so I rewatched your vid like 3 times because I want a 21 but it’s has its pros but a lot of cons to me personally.
I had a 2020 & it got totaled. I don’t really like the back of the 21 or the 1 screen when it was double screen but I need a new car & im torn on if should get a 2020 again (which I loved) or 21. Ppl that have the 21 said they love it.
Honestly all brands have pretty good looking exterior but the interior is where each brand separates it from the rest. The technology from the infotainment and comfort features are lacking compared to the Audi, BMW, and Lexus. The German competition is really holding them off for some buyer in which I wished they had put more time and effort on the inside as well.
But keep in mind its not as expensive as most of those.
Did you just say Lexus has a better infotainment system than this??? LOL, Lexus has hands down the WORST infotainment system among luxury rivals. This Acura is light years ahead of ANY Lexus

mct8888 Lexus literally just switched to touch screen because their touch pad was too shitty. Also Acura was touch screen with the dual screens which I actually liked, but people like you complained about so they changed it now you still find something to complain about.

Now this is a great redesign! The front end looks awesome with the aggressive grill and the interior is a lot better compared to the predecessor.

The advance is supposed to be the “luxury” trim kind of like Mercedes c class with the “luxury” and “sport” trims. The A spec is supposed to be the “sporty” trim and the Type S is the high performance trim.

Le Roy Yeah that would be cool. That’s what they did the PMC editions but really hard to justify that much of a price increase. I actually rather the looks of the advance however. The apec has weird looking wheels for some reason
I agree the a- spec model should have at least around 300hp-320hp to differentiate between the base model. Because all you're paying for in the a-spec model is the technology with the same speed. They should have the base at 272hp, then the A-spec and above models have 300-320 hp and then cap it off with the Type S being 355 perfect line up of cars and more options to choose from
Wave 876 I actually said something similar to this on another TLX video. I think the ASpec should’ve been the 355hp version to compete with C43, M340, S4 and the Type s should’ve been a top tier performance trim with 500hp to compete with the M3,RS4 and C63 AMG. But that will never happen lol, wishful thinking I guess.
I’ll tune back in when the 3.0 here finally Acura stepping up performance to compete with q50 and bmw 340
I wish they had a pano sunroof and a power tilt and telescopic steering column and manual side sunshades for the rear doors and also one more thing I kinda wished they did was when designing the new TLX they had a choice to go RWD but they still decided to go FWD which is ridiculous also it would have been nice if they made it like a lift back design like the AUDI A5 SPORTBACK
I found a wasted are between Gloves Box and the area above, to below Stitching line.
I wish if Acura Designers could use more of that area to increase glove Box size, anyone know reasons the didn’t?

The inside looks simple & but a lot going on.
In my opinion the design is beautiful, for some reason I feel that Acura was able to capture some of the essence of the Acura Vigor of yore. Also it would’ve been nice if they’d went the same route as Lincoln did with their vehicles and go back to actual names.
Just drove an A spec literally a few hrs ago. I was thankfully surprised at the power that 2 liter 4 cylinder has.. its.slightly slow dead off the line but once moving its peppy. Dont like the limited color and interior options. A bit more expensive than I hoped..base with SH AWD was $42,025.. nice car but a bit steep.. the A spec I drove was almost $48k. And no spare tire?? Cmon.
I'll wait for the S Type....
The price is lower than almost all of its competitors if you compare the features. I made a massive spreadsheet comparing cars in this class (looking to buy one) and this (along with Genesis) appear to be the best value.
Some reviews state the adaptive dampeners make the car float and smoothed ride.
55.8DB seems to be lower than the figures online from other car reviewers. Weather, road surface, and decibel meter accuracy seem to come into play here.
Alex on autos gave this car a 72db rating on his test track at 50mph. Given this car has the acoustic front glass, 70db seems like a believable measurement.
On par with a Toyota Camry/ Avalon and behind the Lexus ES and Acura RLX.
Still a good first sedan for me to buy one.
New TLX is good car, I just sit on it while service my 2018 tlx. The interior parts are not share with Honda, I think? One downside I think is the interior room is not improve

Is this car in Canada or United States? I’ve never seen the car mirrors open when someone opens the door. The feature has always existed in the Canada Models but not US models.

Forgive me for making this comparison but how do you think this tlx you just reviewed compares to something like a top end v6 Camry XSE or 2.0 Accord Touring?
Size wise maybe but keep in mind that the Accord and Camry are significantly cheaper and with those savings comes a much less luxurious car. This is more of a 3 Series and A4 fighter given the price.
Daniel H. True but it’s not like the cam cord are sloppy. The new ones in top trims are quite nice for what they are. Also th Camry can cap at 40K
@@naveenthemachine Yeah they definitely aren't sloppy and poorly made. It's just that the material choices and technology used for both isn't up to luxury car standards.
Daniel H. But now the difference has really narrowed between the top end cam cord and that tlx they drove. Sure the tlx is better but is it miles better? P
Things like the infotainment in the tlx needs a touchscreen imo and a cleaner dash layout in terms of buttons.
Also things like the HUD could be a bit better laid out, and the 360 cam could be a bit better. It also needs to have rear automatic braking like the Camry has
Well like Daniel said, there will be a noticeable difference in materials and general luxury, but they are pretty much the same size-wise. This might be something we explore in an upcoming comparison!
