Updating my previous comment. The California dealers have stepped in to assist and they have been a great help. Hi SpiralDiving .Thanks for asking. 1kW is the input power of the electric motor, not the shaft power. When we talk about gas-powered outboard, the power is referring to the shaft power, say Mercury 20HP, Yamaha 425HP, Mercury Racing 450HP. 3HP of Spirit 1.0 is the equivalent horsepower to gas-powered outboard. The 3HP is neither shaft power nor input power. By equivalent horsepower to gas-powered outboard, it means both outboards have a similar speed at the same load.
@@EpropulsionHk If 1kW is the electrical input power, your propshaft power will be ~80% of that or 0.8kW which is just over 1HP. As you say, a 3HP motor has 3HP at the crank shaft... Now a gas engine has to have gears that may lose 15% in transfer to the propshaft but that's still twice the power... My point still stands. Electric has some other advantages -especially noise, solar recharging, and mounting ease (weight split into 3 parts) -so perhaps you should focus on those rather than make implausible claims as to equivalent power? FWIW I've used an e-outboard and a 3.5 HP Honda so I've seen what both can do.

The video did not say anything about the cost of Spirt 1.0 electric propulsion. The main issue is the cost! They are expensive! It costs $2000. Also, it is good for short-range travel and runs like 3 hp. These E-Propulsion electric motors are made in Communist China! That explained for backorders. Therefore, it is not worth it.

How can I buy a Spirit plus in Canada?
Hi Miguel. Thanks for asking. Please fill out this form and we will have a local dealer to contact you. epropulsion.typeform.com/to/cpDJAn
@@EpropulsionHk Done it a few times already. Nobody has contacted me. Do you ship to Canada at all? Or do I have to go with the Torqueedo?
How long the battery can last?
Hi Rafiuddin, the Spirit battery can last one hour for full-speed and four hours for half-speed.
The battery power runs out when you are thirty miles away from the sea coast, and you will be marooned and die hopelessly in the vast sea.
I've had nothing but trouble with my Spirit 1.0 in the short time I've owned it. I can't get the US distributor or a dealer to call me back for help.
Hi Don, sorry to hear about this experience. Please send a message to our official Facebook message. I will follow up your case shortly.
Could you confirm is your motor inrunner or outrunner configuration?
Hi TeslaScoop. The Spirit 1.0 Plus features maintenance-free with brushless direct-drive motor design.
Looks good. How much do they cost?
Welcome to check the price with your dealer. You could fill out this form then we will have a local dealer to contact you directly.

In what world is 1kW 3HP?!
I know, complete joke. 1hp = 746watts, so 1 kw is about 1 1/3 hp ... you cannot argue with physics.
