Fun fact: No recording artist -- soloist, duo, or group -- charted more songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 1960s than The Four Seasons (or Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons). Not the Beatles, not any of the Motown groups, not the Beach Boys, not the Rolling Stones. The Four Seasons topped them all in number of singles on the Hot 100 in the '60s.
This was the song my husband and I chose for our first dance as husband and wife at our wedding reception. It was great - all the wedding guest were singing the chorus as we danced. Love this song!
When I was pregnant with my daughter in 1990, I sang this song to her constantly. I was 37 so it had been on my playlist already for many yrs. She is 34 now, I’m 71, and we sing this song to each other ALL the time. One of my favourite memories and favourite songs. Love and Peace from 🇨🇦
5:13 This is why I always say to listen to the studio versions first of music from the 60s and 70s! Not because the live versions aren't good, because they are, it's just that audio quality isn't always that great and some artists like to change the song to the point where it can sound like a different song....And I totally get why they do that because I can only imagine playing the same song over and over the exact same way can get a little stale sometimes, but the studio versions are how it's meant to be heard... If that makes any sense!
I've seen him twice in concert, I love when he sings this song and the crowd shouts out I LOVE YOU BABY , and he expects it ! Frankie is a treasure . Please react to My Eyes Adored You
One of my most favorite memories of my mom, was her dancing around the living room when this song came on. I cannot hear this song without thinking of mom.❤
I saw Frankie Valli last year at the Texas Theater, he is getting a little old, but man he can still hit those high notes. He had some backup singers as well to round out the sound and a great live band, it was a good show definately not what I usually see, more like wht my parents listened to, It was a one or a kind show! Thanks BP
I read that Frankie Valli really wanted to sing this song because he didn't need to use his usual high falsetto voice, it was one of his first songs sung in his normal range. He didn't want to be stuck forever as "the singer with the high pitch voice". So the smash success of this song really helped his solo career.
When I was in high school in 1970 the 4 seasons came to my school. There sound man anger was just starting out and Roy Clair was the Industrial Arts teacher. They came unannounced to surprise him. To say the least we were thrilled. It also speaks volumes on there character.
Frankie, solo or with the Four Seasons, is a great rabbit hole to travel 🐇🕳️ The music of my childhood and youth! Classic early Rock/Easy Listening genre. Frankie's voice is iconic and has traversed time to be one of the easiest to recognize. Awesome reaction to one of the classic vocal gems to come out of my home town ❤
Yeah your reactions between the two versions is like watching night and day. Yes we can see you enjoyed the live performance but you completely and totally got into the studio version. 😊👏👏👏👍
I almost skipped this reaction, but thanks for brining this song back into my life, it's great, and been in many movies while I was growin' up. Great reaction!! 40!
Omg !!!!! This is the song my husband used to sing to me …… Beautiful song, my husband loved FRANKIE VALLi AND THE 4 seasons. My husband is gone now, but have great memories !!!!!!
Yay!! Double bonus of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". I prefer the studio version because of its rich sound. I definitely appreciate the live version of Frankie singing this. God! I love Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons!! 💙🎶🎶💙
Lauren Hill covered this song in 1998 as a solo artist after she separate from the Fugees. I really liked her cover of this song and it was a hit. I think it was the most popular cover of the song. I knew it was a cover because I remembered the original from Frankie Vallie when I was a little kid. It's also been in many movies even Heath Ledger (RIP)sang in the movie "10 Thing I Hate About You".
There are at least a dozen movies that contain this tune. And tons of cover versions. And I guarantee that it was played at millions of weddings in the late 60s, 70s, 80s....
As a child of the 60s, my two favorite groups were Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and The Beach Boys. Still are. So many other loves, too. But Frankie Valli is my Jersey Boy. Grew up singing along to his falsetto. Favorite Four Seasons song is “Let’s Hang On”. Give it a listen.
Bob Gaudio , keyboardist for the Four Seasons, wrote this and most of their hits . He was in The Royal Teens before this and was responsible for their great hit Short Shorts. The young lady from the Short Shorts video leaxes comments about her dancing
Back to an earlier reaction before I hope you dance we listened to joan baez forever young. I can remember holding my first daughter as a new born listening with tears running down my face knowing the world would never be the same
Oh I love me some Franki Valli. Thank you for reacting to this one , it's such a beautiful song and it's timeless . Deep rabbit hole, hope you will check out more of Franki Valli and the 4 seasons, and Franki after he went solo
Most people are familiar with a lot of The Four Seasons songs. Here are three of their hit songs that many of you may have never heard before because of average views: 1) Bye Bye Baby 2) C'mon Marianne 3) Save It For Me.
This song is in a classic scene in 10 things I hate about you which made it alive again I think I just listened to it again and agree it just gets to your body and soul and just melts you Frank santra also did a cover
Yes, real brass: baritones, trombones, trumpets, etc - you can't synthesize this song's sound. Frankie delivers......great memories of the scene from The Deer Hunter movie when the cast sings this song.
🌸 I grew up in Vegas and I remember so fondly hearing this song as my dad and I are my grandma and I would walk through the casinos to the restaurant for breakfast or whatever
I've hesitated to bring this musician to your attention because he's not your run-of-the-mill kind of guy. His name is Leon Redbone (no relation to the group Redbone) and his biggest hit was "I Want to be Seduced". He sang a lot of songs from the Tin Pan Alley era and had a very distinctive look and sound. Bob Dylan once said that if he ever got his own record label, Leon would be the first person he's sign. He did a lot of voice-overs and movie soundtracks, and was a frequent guest on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. His signature song was "I Want to be Seduced", which is the one I'd love to see you react to. I think you'd love him. There is a tuba in "Seduced", how could anyone not love a song that featured a tuba?
Fantastic recording! It has one of those crazy 60's style mixes where they pan the rhythm section to the right and put the strings/horns on the left. But they really made it work. A modern mix would put the rhythm section (Bass and Drums) in the center behind the vocal, and probably pan the strings to one side and the horns to the other.
The pride of Newark! Joe Pesci was introduced Frankie to the Four Seasons. Listen to the song “ Grease” from the movie- that’s also Frankie. Many rappers sampled or rerecorded his “ Beggin’” which is perfect for breakdancing.
My favourite cover of this song is by the Boys Town Gang, it was a huge dance floor hit in the mid 80s, as soon as it came on the dance floor was packed, please checkout that version.
Love the studio version better. And yes it brings back memories of the Deer Hunter. They were so happy and innocent at that time having no idea how their lives were about to change and not for the better.😢
Baby boomer here. We had some awesome music didn't we! Always will be timeless!
One of my favorites by Frankie is “My Eyes Adored You”
"My Eyes Adored You"......Frankie singing softly. Is one of Frankie's best. All his songs are great! Glad you're enjoying him too.
Fun fact: No recording artist -- soloist, duo, or group -- charted more songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 1960s than The Four Seasons (or Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons). Have you every played "Sherry?" It is one of his first, if not the first, with the Four Seasons. It really highlights Valli's falsetto. The best!!
This was the song my husband and I chose for our first dance as husband and wife at our wedding reception. It was great - all the wedding guest were singing the chorus as we danced. Love this song!

Beautiful story !!!!
Beautiful Mom and daughter 🥰😘

Totally agree with you.
Led Zeppelin is a prime example.
His best song, among so many great ones, is “My Eyes Adored You”, IMHO
This Song played in a Wonderful Scene in the Movie “Deer Hunter”
The Amount of Incredible Acting Talent in That Scene is Incredible
That was a very heavy, but excellent film with a great cast!
I've seen him twice in concert, I love when he sings this song and the crowd shouts out I LOVE YOU BABY , and he expects it ! Frankie is a treasure . Please react to My Eyes Adored You

To think at 1 point he only had about 35% hearing. That's amazing.
True !!

@kbrewski1 this song isn't that good, Who Loves You from Frankie V is a lot better
@codypatron5968
I disagree. So does over 160 artists who covered it, and at least 12 movie directors, including the director of Deerhunter.
@kbrewski1 that doesn't mean anything they may have never even heard Who Loves You. But I guess it's just personal preference.
@kbrewski1 as far as vocal talent, these guys are some of the best ever
th-cam.com/video/DFMQTKnTMAA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ObMDor7eIWSWBTDd
@codypatron5968
They blow chunks. If I want to hear shrill falsetto voices, I'll listen to the Chipmunks.
When that orchestra swings in on the last last verse has always been heavenly
The Brothers Gibb (BeeGees) probably popped up at the end of the song as they wrote the theme for the movie "Grease" that Frankie Valli sang.
Frankie Valli and the four seasons One of my favorites I used to sing this song back to back back to back back to back they had some other hits too...
I was 9 years old when this came out and I would just wait for it to come back on the radio. Love it. Enjoy
This is for the ladies ❤ seriously what a voice.
This song was the first dance with my husband at my wedding reception ❤
My wife and I saw him live at the Fox Theater in Detroit about maybe 6 or 7 years ago. He still had the voice. Generational talent for sure
Are you sure he was actually singing?
When I was in high school in 1970 the 4 seasons came to my school. There sound man anger was just starting out and Roy Clair was the Industrial Arts teacher. They came unannounced to surprise him. To say the least we were thrilled. It also speaks volumes on there character.
Frankie Valli was a member of the Four Seasons before he went solo. Love his voice.
I'm a baby boomer from the '60s and '70s and we had the best music....

That scene in The Deer Hunter was magnificent.
Love these oldies, missed you all week ,on vacation, nice to come back to this music....
Love me some Frankie Valli
This is so good! Love FV and the 4 Seasons!!!!
Met them at Michigan state fair when our dancers performed when they did. In the sixties.
Omg !!!!! This is the song my husband used to sing to me ……
Beautiful song, my husband loved
FRANKIE VALLi AND THE 4 seasons.
My husband is gone now, but have great memories !!!!!!
I love this song ! Brings me back to my younger days.
This was when music was music.
They dont make music like this anymore
Thats why I love TH-cam
I can go back to my younger Days
Wifey should react to this!!
As a teenager my brother played the Four Seasons a lot.
After seeing Jersey Boys -this was sung for his daughter.
That was "My Eyes Adored You"...
This is the best version!!!
I want to disagree (a little).
I love Valli, but dancing with my daughter as we watched 10 Things I Hate About You will always be my favorite!
This isn't "a version", it's the original studio recording.
This is the original version
I was born in the 50's, but heard it on the radio with my parents! I always have loved this sound!
This is a massive song for the Wales national football team fans, it's an anthem for us 👍🏼
Exactly!
Seen Frankie in the broadway theatre about 12 or 13 years ago ! He was amazing !
The Deer Hunter....
Yep! Every time I hear this song I still see that Deer Hunter scene!
Fabulous movie, I remember this song was played in the movie
Yay!! Double bonus of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". I prefer the studio version because of its rich sound. I definitely appreciate the live version of Frankie singing this. God! I love Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons!! 💙🎶🎶💙

That scene where Heath sings this is so sweet and so fun, RIP Heath 😢
So many memories! I am almost 70 years old and still love this so very much! You should put Wifey in front of this! Love your reaction!
There are at least a dozen movies that contain this tune. And tons of cover versions.
And I guarantee that it was played at millions of weddings in the late 60s, 70s, 80s....
He still performs!!!
Well, sorta ...😀
As a child of the 60s, my two favorite groups were Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and The Beach Boys. Still are. So many other loves, too. But Frankie Valli is my Jersey Boy. Grew up singing along to his falsetto. Favorite Four Seasons song is “Let’s Hang On”. Give it a listen.
Heath ledger sang part of it in the movie 10 things I hate about you.😊
It's a great scene. Heath Ledger sings it to Julia Stiles and brings in the marching band.
@debramirez2110 I couldn't think of her name...yes good scene.
Frankie recorded this song in 1967! He was the first to sing it.
I’ve heard a few version
Bob Gaudio , keyboardist for the Four Seasons, wrote this and most of their hits . He was in The Royal Teens before this and was responsible for their great hit Short Shorts. The young lady from the Short Shorts video leaxes comments about her dancing
Al Kooper was also in Royal Teens and Short Shorts. Please do Blood Sweat and Tears 1st lp only w Al!!!
I Still remember the words to this song still !❤❤❤
Back to an earlier reaction before I hope you dance we listened to joan baez forever young. I can remember holding my first daughter as a new born listening with tears running down my face knowing the world would never be the same
❤ such a beloved song…! Brings goosies.
The great ones always please your ears and drive deep into your soul.
it was partly covered by Pet Shops Boys in "Where the streets have no name".
Thanks for yet another "walk down memory lane"....good stuff right here 💗💞💗
takes me back,..... great song and reaction.... thank you.........
My mom & dad in the 60's use to play all their songs and thats how i got into them. I was in the single diget age. They are so good
If you ever get a chance to see the musical THE JERSEY BOYS go see it. It is the story of this band and the music is great!
Oh I love me some Franki Valli. Thank you for reacting to this one , it's such a beautiful song and it's timeless . Deep rabbit hole, hope you will check out more of Franki Valli and the 4 seasons, and Franki after he went solo

This is my favorite song of his.
Played all their songs on cassette player...ribbon kept unwinding....❤ these songs!!!
Great song from the 60s
this was my favorite song in 1968 with my then boyfriend, very hearfelt
This song is in a classic scene in 10 things I hate about you which made it alive again I think I just listened to it again and agree it just gets to your body and soul and just melts you Frank santra also did a cover
Saw them in the last 4 years.... still sound great.... we sang along with every song, but didn't sound as well.
Fallen Angel is one I my favourites by Frankie Valli
My mom loved this song so it always reminds me of her ❤
Love Frankie ❤
🌸 you just made my whole week..... thank you 🤍
Frankie Valli version was recorded and released in 1967. His was the first version released.
Yes, real brass: baritones, trombones, trumpets, etc - you can't synthesize this song's sound. Frankie delivers......great memories of the scene from The Deer Hunter movie when the cast sings this song.
There's a tribute band that toures all over the country named The Jersey Boys that is a must see. 6 riggs of equipment to bring back memories
Got to see him and the crew in the late 90s in the Poconos ❤
🌸 I grew up in Vegas and I remember so fondly hearing this song as my dad and I are my grandma and I would walk through the casinos to the restaurant for breakfast or whatever
This song immediately makes me think of Heath Ledger - 10 Things I Hate About You ♥
Walk like a man is a song you'll totally relate too, highly recommended!!
Beautiful song. ❤️✌🏻🎶
Part of the soundtrack to my childhood in the '60s!
This song was also in the movie 10 things I hate about you, starring Heath Ledger
I believe this was first released as the group The Four Season. It was later in the 70s that Frankie took top billing ...
I've hesitated to bring this musician to your attention because he's not your run-of-the-mill kind of guy. The great Andy Williams had a huge cover at the time Frankie recorded it. Andy had the big hot in the UK #5
Earth Wind and Fire covered it as well as Chicago--they used to use it as an encore in the early 70s.
My favourite cover of this song is by the Boys Town Gang, it was a huge dance floor hit in the mid 80s, as soon as it came on the dance floor was packed, please checkout that version.
"Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Andy Williams. That could be the version you are talking about BP.🎼👍
The Boys Town Gang covered it in 1982. It was a banger and a big hit in Europe 🙂
So romantic. ❤
Love the studio version better. And yes it brings back memories of the Deer Hunter. They were so happy and innocent at that time having no idea how their lives were about to change and not for the better.😢
And this is one reason oldies are chilled out so much.
