Dr Kimball, thank you so much for creating these videos! I've had 2 microdiscectomies in the last 8 years (L4/5 and L5/S1) and am dealing with constant pain the last 2 years since the 2nd one. I've been told I have "FBSS", but your videos are educating me and giving me hope. My first step is to drop some weight and get my BMI from 25 to 23 or so. My surgeon seems WAY too busy to have time to make educational videos, so thanks again!
I am 6 weeks out 2 levels disc replacement . So far so good. I had facetjoint arthropothy (not severe) based off mri and was still able to get disc replacement my pain was coming from degenerative disc
Hello Dr. Kimball, thank you very much fir your videos. I had a right side L5S1 disk economy on 2015 and again on 2021 left and right sides. I am having really bad back and leg/food pain again and I am afraid I may need another surgery. How do I know if I go through this surgery again it would last more than 1-2 years? Is disk fusion a good option and what is the stats for needing another fusion 5-10 years after the first one (for L5S1)? Thank you very much. I have images that I can send you as well.
Hi Doc! thanks a lot for your video =) I live in Germany and for some reason some doctors (who don't do this surgery) tell me that I should not even think about ADR surgery, that it's a very bad idea and I will develop problems over time... my pain is disc related, however my protrusion is only 5mm yet. Are you agree with them? I also got to see a website about one spanish doctor who failed a lot of such surgeries and some discs like M6L fail a lot... is that true? Could you please share your experience on this topic? Thanks in advance!
It's too weird that you live in Germany and surgeons are against disc replacement?! People usually go to Germany for this surgery. Have you heard about ONZ surgery center? They are in Germany and do this process!
Don't take advice from any doctor about ADR if they have never done one. Dr Jack Zigler of Back Pain Institute in Texas has done many ADRS and has tons of data proving its effectiveness.
Germany 2 Level Lp-esp in the house, best decision I ever made! This patient already has adjacent segment disease at L4/5, if you do single level now he "might" get lucky and avoid another surgery.. 50/50.. if you only do micro 100 percent chance he will need a second adr... I'd bet my house on it!

I’m 37, I found out when I was 21. Do you believe I can be a candidate?
Can’t hear you
