Four of the five are normal, then there's the one who's life is a hot mess because of the stupid decisions he makes. You can't really blame it on parenting when the other kids turn out fine.

The bill of sale probably stated $100 to help HIM avoid substantially more sales tax etc. but the agreement between them would have been very clear, especially since he paid the $300 for so long. To try to use a loophole to stiff your own grandmother, who's on pension, is repugnant. I hope the rest of the Camille shuns him until he apologizes
It amazes me how many of the people we buy a used car from wants to put that it's selling for less, or that it's a gift. They think they're doing us a favor by saving us money. We try to be honest, and paying taxes is a part of that, and have to insist that we put the accurate amount.
I learned the hard way, don't sign the title over until the vehicle is paid for.

It amazes me how so many people think that a wife is not involved in ownership of property. To say she "inherited" the car is an insult. This is a real thing for some people. My own brother tries to say this is not my home because he thinks it is just my husband's home. My brother lived here for awhile and it was his way of trying to disrespect me. Long story. My son also tried to say that the money in our bank account was not mine too. In other words, they did not have to respect me in my own home and did not have to listen to me. If I told them to get out of my house, they would pull that stunt. They were both addicted to alcohol and drugs. We let my brother live here because he was homeless at one point and lived with my other brother for 3 years and lost his job. He is now in a nursing home and is a double leg amputee. My son is well now and sees his wrongs. My husband backed me up as much as possible but it tore us up for a long time. Keep toxic family members at arms length.

She probably wrote $100 on the bill of sale so he wouldn’t have to pay sales tax on a $10,000 purchase hence doing him a solid. I can’t believe he had the gall to stiff her.
He just admitted publicly to lying to avoid a transfer tax on the vehicle. However it's probably moot since many/most states do not levy a tax on title transfer of vehicle between close relatives, so he could have put down the real price of the car.

It's really smart to admit you defrauded the tax department of NY state. I assume you pay some sort of sales tax when you transfer the title? Otherwise why would you get the bill of sale for $100 when it's a $10,000 vehicle?

I live with my 92yr old grandma and she is spoilt and tends to act up if she doesn't get her way or isn't the centre of attention (kinda narcissistic) but I would NEVER do her wrong, in anyway.. This guy is despicable.
