    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for stopping by! This week is a good week as I talk about a DAP that I absolutely enjoy!
    It is great to see everyone again! Do let me know what's your favourite DAP at the moment!

      @@humm6155 I will try it haha. I personally like the solid state section of the N8. I just found it a little more dynamic

    What?! No rum review? I am outraged! In all seriousness, thank you very much for your review, this one looks very promising. For me, it was between Shangling M8 and this but in the end, I just could not stomach Android 7, plus to me, the RS6 looks much better. Hopefully I wont regret the decision.

    Really good review bud, thank you. I think I'm going to upgrade from my Shanling M6 Pro with this RS6.

    Hi SuperChonk :), did you try also something else in the 1400 usd price range? (DAPS). Should i consider this over lets say the Shanling m8? And what about the battery life on balanced max gain?

    I read in multiple threads that the rs6 + mest mk2 is a great pairing. Would you recommend this pair-up? Also I read that there are presets for VE IEMs on the rs6. Any similar preset for the mest mk2 on it?

  • @markallen6317
    @markallen6317 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My understanding that burn-in and headphone cables adding finesse to the sound aesthetic is pure mythology. Never the less, I've read dozens of reviews that claim the RS6 approaches its peak after 2 or 3 days of burning in. Still an urban legend or is this a different animal?

    • @SuperChonk
      @SuperChonk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With regards to cables, to each his own but do give it a shot before completely dismissing them :)
      The RS6 does sound a little better with burnin :)

  • @calico88

    How about the sound detail ?
    Do you think it’s comparable to higher level DAP ?

    • @SuperChonk
      @SuperChonk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well in terms of detail, it is better than others in its price range but against flagships like the AK2000T or the PAW Gold Touch, it lags behind a little.
      But that said it is already very good value.

    Really good. Now wait comparisons with AK Kann alpha:)

    • @SuperChonk
      @SuperChonk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It runs circles around the Kann Alpha.
      The Kann Alpha has lots of power but is rather noisy. Also it sounds quite a bit more digital as well. Interms of drive, I think the Kann Alpha has the edge but sonically isn't as strong.
      Resolution wise, I feel that the Hiby R8 has an edge over the Kann Alpha as well.

  • @markallen6317
    @markallen6317 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did they skip the balanced 2.5 headphone port?

    • @SuperChonk
      @SuperChonk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well because the 2.5mm port at this day and age is quite obsolete. It is physically the weakest connector especially when you want to use larger gauge cables on them.
      The contact points for the 2.5mm is so ridiculously small that makes it really fragile.
