Thank you for doing this video. I started my crochet journey years ago. But I never had any formal training or anybody to teach me. But watching your video is teaching me some techniques with doing the stitches. For example, at the end of each round after you slip stitch to the first double crochet, you pull the yarn to tighten at that junction. Like this need to be shown or taught. So I appreciate your video and the hat is beautiful. Thanks again.
The first one i made i had to take out because i could not find what i needed to fill the brim. But now i learned to make the brim without a filler. Now i will try again.. ❤ it's a beautiful hat. Thank You.❤

Wish I looked good in hats lol. You always have such nice hat patterns. Will have to be a gift. Since you use Bates hooks, I always know what size from the color you are using lol.
Hello Ms Joy, I did try it with mainstays brand cotton. That blue shell color hat with torquoise band and edging shown at :22 on the video. Work good. Just relax the tension. But they are other medium 4 weight has thicker strand. I suggest either Mainstays and I love this cotton. The are the same thickness to me.
I crocheted two of this with my left over yarns. I gave one to my granddaughter & she loves it. Thanks for sharing.

Wool Ease is a chunky 6 weight. It looks like she's using 4 ply here.
