How to Set up and make HDMI ARC work

Don't hear any sound? With this video you can trouble shoot your HDMI ARC connection. Once you correctly set up the HDMI Audio Return Channel connection feature your TV and sound system can more seamlessly work together to get the most from your TV and Sound systems. Thank you! The salesman at Best Buy kept saying that I’d have to get the $600 sound bar versus the $400 sound bar because it has the extra HDMI ports directly on the sound bar itself. I could’ve sworn that using the HDMI arc input I would be able to get the sound from anything else I plugged into the TV. Thanks for confirming.

I got my audio to route through my speaker using ARC but the sound isn't being amplified or controlled by the receiver. Visio E Series sending ARC through an HDBaseT device to a Yamaha RX-V379 receiver. One oddity is that I have CEC enabled on the tv but it cant find my receiver when it looks for devices. The receiver has arc set to the Audio input and enabled. Pretty sure newer vizios can pass through 5.1 via arc. Any thoughts on where I might be messing up?

Thanks for the video. I have a question hopefully someone here can help with. I have an older Sony 850C TV that uses ARC and a Yamaha A860 receiver. I used to use an optical cable for sound going into my receiver whenever I used aps on the TV...think Netflix, Prime, etc. I never had any issues. When I got HBO max and Disney +, I could only get stereo sound out of the optical cable so I switched to using the ARC. That solved the stereo issue, I get 5.1 surround, but I am constantly getting sound drop offs....where it just cuts out for a second or two. It only does that with HBO max and Disney+. I have no issues with Hulu, Netflix, or Prime. I tried different cables but have the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the Vizio Oled and just ordered the JBL 9.1 sound bar that has E-ARC. Now what HMDI cable should I get for the e-Arc port? My number 2 & 3 ports are 2.1. And Port 1 is the e-arc on my Vizio tv. I got HMDI 2.0 high speed hdr, Hi speed ethernet port. Is that the best for Maximize in Derby Atmos and DTX? I don’t need 2.1 cable? I know the 2.0 is at 18g bandwidth and the 2.1 is at 48gb. Thanks
