Got some bright orange paracord and ties this on my CRKT Foresight. For the bead, I drilled two holes in a cheap die I had lying around. I love it, great tutorial, man

I've used this knot on all my small knives, with various hardware as spacers. On smaller knives I used a 330 parachord instead of 550. Really scales it down nicely.! Loved the video, use it repeatedly as a reference.! You have to be careful getting into cars though, the nuts tend to whack or scrape against the car if you leave the lanyard hanging out of your pocket.

Thanks so much for the vid. I got some paracord at Wal-Mart and these little brass fittings from the hardware that I polished. I was able to duplicate the snake knot and the diamond whatever knot. I couldn't cinch up the diamond knot. Will have to practice. Thanks again. My little SOG is stylin'.
I think I am going to try this the only thing I might do a little different is I will be going to a craft store to see if I can find some skull beads which might make it look more interesting. Thanks for the demo it was very helpful.
Yeah, I only use this method for lanyards. I've used TIAT's method for making snake knot bracelets, but this method is the same method used by those who make the official CRK snake knot lanyards. Thanks for watching!

I don't know what size nut you used but I found that M6 in A4 stainless steel works for me. Cost about £1.80 per 20 delivered on Amazon from Graphskill - for U.K. I got some other stuff, shackles for bracelets etc. at the same time from them so postage was shared between orders. Everything was shiny when delivered as well. :) M5 should work for gutted 550 paracord. Thanks again for the video.
Interesting way you have to tie this knot. I tie it differently as found on many chinese knotting sites, but also here on youtube check out "How to Tie a Paracord Snake Knot by TIAT". I think you will see the difference.
I thought that the nut looked like it was polished. I would just suggest smoothing out the interior of it so it doesn't fray the line when it moves, if you were to use them again in the future.
I'm well aware this is not a true snake knot, but if you look closely at how CRK ties their lanyards, this is the way they do it. The whole purpose of this video tutorial was to emulate the specific style of lanyard you can buy from CRK or other knife dealers. I have another video on how to do the true snake knot.
Do you find using the "torch" you have better for welding/melting the cord? I find using lighters, butane and fuel (Zippo) types leave a more pronounced burn mark. Especially with lighter colors. Thanks for the tutorials and info. Peace
i did this to one of my knifes but i dont have any bolts or any thing so put like 5 knots and then left sting at the bottom the 2 stings and but 2 nice wood beads on each one melted the ends so the beads would not come off it tuned out nice for my first time
