I love what Jen said “if you try something and it’s not working for you, like there is nothing wrong with you or the thing, it is just you are you and the thing is the thing.”
I love how open-minded, honest, and respectful Jen and Kristen were. They pushed themselves the whole way through, even though they didn't seem the most comfortable out of the group, and were careful to reserve their opinions until the end.
Devin is such a beautiful woman. She has such a beautiful energy around her, and to talk about what her boss did to her is so powerful. I was sexually abused by my ex boyfriend when we were ating, and after we broke up he sexually assaulted me. Ever since that day, I have felt very insecure and still struggle with anxiety and depression. So for her to share her story is beautiful and empowering

@@blossomnessstudios4446 she has PCOS. It's hard to lose weight. I'm pretty damn sure she's tried. The fact she also accepts her body for what it is is good too.
I really love that the studio has no mirrors and has warm low lighting, whenever i see typical dance studios they're super bright and full of reflections of myself and feel almost clinical, which makes it hard for people who might be self-conscious or not know how to FEEL sexy without judging yourself. The warm lighting here is sensual and comfortable and you can have fun on the pole without seeing a glimpse of yourself in the mirror looking like a fool, haha.
But the mirrors come in handy, when you're doing harder tricks and have to align your body in a specific way (like going from straddle to starfish spin, for me it was impossible without a mirror). I love how my dance studio has both bright lights for learning and low lighting for freestyling ;)
I think mirrors really help me critique what I’m doing because I can see if I need to be more aligned or something. In dance it would be impossible for me to get better if there was no mirrors
But tbh I bet it would feel less intermediating without mirrors so you don’t critique yourself to much if you are doing something more sensual like pole dancing

Yes! Real empowerment is allowing people to live their lives the way they need or want to in order to be happy and being supportive of whatever that is, rather than shaming or judging. The fact that pole dancing helped some of the girls get in touch with their sexuality and the fact that Jen learned it wasn't for her are both equally valid and should both be celebrated.
I do think Jen would have enjoy herself more at a standard pole fit studio, instead of S factor and it emphasis on sensuality. I have been doing pole for 2 years now and I still don't enjoy the dancing aspect, but there is a lot to gain from pole than feeling more sexy.
I adore Jen. I kinda love how she just owns up to an experience not being for her but still trying it anyway. I mean everyone killed it, but I love Jen.
When Devin and her friends started dancing, I started crying because it made me realize how freaking beautiful we are as women. We're freaking powerful and beautiful and we are in control of our bodies and minds and this is just so beautiful, gosh. We are all beautiful!!!!
It always interests me when Freddie talks about her insecurities, because I am an insecure person who projects a lot of confidence, too. It's awesome Devin processed her pain into something so positive.
Same. I have like no upper body strength and not a lot of leg strength. I carry most of my weight around my stomach so being able to hold myself up with only my arms or only my legs on a pole would be crazy
i cried after devin said she was raped. i know that feeling. seeing someone who'd been through the same thing, or something similar at the very least, and how they've come to love themselves despite what happened gave me so much hope. thank you. edit: wow this got a lot of attention, i just want to say to everyone who knows this feeling, i'm so so sorry. you never deserved it, don't beat yourself over it, don't blame yourself, you're allowed to find happiness, and you're not alone. you guys are amazing and so very strong, thank you for sharing your stories... you deserve the world, no matter who you are.
Dev...your story broke my heart. You're my favorite person on buzzfeed. You have a great spirit. I'm so sorry to hear of your experiences but so proud of how strong you are and how you have found ways to empower yourself and continue to live your life. It's inspiring to others who have faced similar challenges. Thank you for sharing. ❤
I love how confident and happy devin is in this video. I think she feels like she has something she can truly show off and be herself. I like this look on her~way to go devin!
If I'm being honest here, seeing women being confident enough with their bodies to classify themselves as sexy is one of the most empowering things you can see. Edit: omg so many likes, thank you 😊
Devin, way to turn a frightening negative horredous experience into an incredible posative! Awesome! Jen your body lamguage changed from start to finish, you are less closed in on yourself and more open with your gestures and how you hold yourself! Kirsten! Wow girl you rock!!! I have a similar body shape and putting aside my disabled aspects of my body id be terrified to try pole so well done!!!!! Yay ladylike!!!! SPOOOOOOOOON!
It's also an eye opener into the experiences of other women who have been sexually assaulted as well. Her support and is essential, relatable and beautiful. Here's to strong women, may we know them, be them and love them.
You know what I love about this. They took this class, one that is done in a private, windowless, and mirror-less room. Only to put it on the internet. That is bravery and courage and that makes these women even more amazing.
Hi. You wrote in your channel description that you like K-Pop 💕 Which groups soloists do you stan? I personally love Stray Kıds #stay 💜 Of course I like other groups but Stray Kıds are my ultimate bias group 💕👍
@@myanancy I love BTS , TXT and Itzy 💜 I started stanning Twice since Fancy era because I prefer more mature concepts over cute ones. 7:12- 7:50 that part literally gave me chills. Like I was almost in tears. Those women looked like goddesses on the pole and they looked sexy and empowered and confident in their own skin. I think every person deserves to feel like that about themselves. Thank you for this powerful video. ❤️
Honestly, I respect and love Kristen so much for not giving a damn about not exactly having like the "ideal" women's body, and just being able to still look hella hot and having a good time.
Hertta Oksanen Me too. And i thank her for saying that anynody can do this. Cause in the back of my head i was thinking of trying this but though i'm not strong enough or don't have the body type.
Kristen makes me so happy! Im also not what you would call an "ideal" body type and that fact that she participates in everything the other girls do is so uplifting! Ugh I love her!
You know what? I know that Kristin's weight and figure is due to a condition, and you should always feel good in and love your body. But let's not forget that being overweight and not working out is actually a health risk (so is being too skinny or being "just right" but eating only junk food). Whether Jazzmyne or Kristin do or don't have a condition, they also don't look after their body very well (that's obvious from many videos). They are incredibly talented ladies and it's so inspiring how confident they are and don't hide their bodies. But saying that they don't have to change as long as they feel good, could be just as harmful to young people as the size-0-talk, in my opinion.
I've always adored Devin. She's so strong and seems to know herself well.. not to mention she is so sexy in this! Glad that her boss' actions didn't break her.. She's thriving and overcoming.. love her.
Lunars Legacy no it's not. I agree with her comment, however you only put the comma after the S if there a multitude of things such as the 2 cats' mice, while if a word or name ends with an S you still us the 's such as boss's
Morgan Johnson actually, no that's not how it works. You only put an apostrophe after an s if there is a plural possetion. Such as "the boys' dogs." While if a word or name ends in s you still put an apostrophe s, I see this mistake everywhere. Example "They couldn't deny the Kiss's power
I’ve always really liked Devin’s energy and personality in videos. Seeing the way she teaches these other ladies and sharing her story has made me love her even more. Great job to all of these ladies!
Changedma Name Really? Quite the contrary, I felt like this was the first time on any Ladylike video that I saw one of them talk this openly about something so near and dear to their heart, every word Devin said and every step she took seemed to overflow with genuine passion and authenticity to me. Weird how differently everyone perceives things. 🤷🏻
My favorite part about this whole video was that there was so many different body types and it gives you such a different point of view of pole dancing then what you think it actually is
@@Opple-s4e *Yes maybe in a stripclub* but they are doing it as a sport/training and not to turn somebody on they are just feeling beautiful and confident about themselves and their bodies and i think that thats an amazing thing. And why does it bother you that much ? I think that pole dancing is such a cool thing and Devin is such a bad ass for being able to turn such a negative experience into a beautiful thing
I love how Jen immediately finds a way to turn something sexual into something so freeing and conservative 😂👌🏼❤️ (Edit: 2 thousand likes guys? Well thanks 💋)
Devin’s story is so empowering and amazing. Although it is rough and sad I feel like it was very brave of her to talk about it and it makes her a huge inspiration and role model to me for being so strong and being able to keep going. Her strength and willingness to change things around is truly admirable
SF Stefanie I was simply referring to how since she got married she has mentioned her husband in every video. It's adorable and reminds me of how Ned loves his wife and always mentions her. It's a good comparison and a good thing to do.
Honestly, we should have something like this for just dancing, no mirrors, no judgement. Be FREE to SSPAZ out and express yourself, no matter how "ridiculous"
but then the whole point of dancing is learning to look good, right? i'd love to learn to dance and slay everyone at a party but i currently look like a ridiculous chicken when i dance so i have a long way to go
But the difference between dancing and this is that you're trying to look good and coordinated. If you're on Broadway, and you don't rehearse a dance number in a room of mirrors, you're going to look off point
Kristen: "For me, sexuality isn't performative. Its more private" Me: mind blown. I have always struggled with being sexual publicly and the simple answer is that for me it's a private thing and the weight on my shoulder just disappeared. Stay awesome Ladylike!
Alexaerive Em you are definitely not the only one. I’m a very private person too. It’s ok! As long as you are comfortable and don’t feel shameful about anything.
I love the concept of no mirrors and warm light, it would make me feel so comfortable and confident. Also women being together and cheering up each other is wonderful. I really want to attend a class but there is nothing comparable to this near me..
I was always taught that pole dancing was purely for strippers and impressing men, I love being able to see a different side of this dance form. Devin' s story is so empowering I almost want to try It! Stay strong ladies ❤💚
Kalista Willington being a stripper isn't just about impressing men 🙁 you should be about empowering all types of women including exotic dancers too. There's nothing wrong with being a dancer
I feel like it doesn't matter if you want to do it for yourself or if you want to do it as a job or even to impress men. What matters is that you want to do it and I think people should stop being so judgemental about everything. Let strippers be strippers, there's nothing wrong with that if they want to do it (:
Man, I wish I had the confidence to do something like this. I am also a survivor of assault, and the feeling that your body doesn't belong to you anymore is a super real and heartbreaking thing. I struggle with it every day. Thank you for being so open and sharing your stories. It helps.
I have heard of people trying intermitted fasting to regain the feeling of control and ownership over their body. Or try and work towards a fitness goal, like running a half marathon, all after medical consultation of course. :)
I went through sexual assault as well it is very hard my assaulter is in prison for 10 years. I have depression and I’m very self conscious as well as anorexic it hard but we will get through it
I'm normally not really fond of buzzfeed videos but this video really opened my mind to pole dancing. I've always see it in a negative light due to movies and ignorance. Never knew it could be so artistic and graceful. I loved that it shows that women don't have to be ashamed to feel sexy in their bodies.
0.00001% I would use this to bug the fuack out of my wholesome boyfriend. I would just be spinning around the room like a ceiling fan, knocking everything in my path
Freddie for sure should continue! Seems like she likes it and she looks like she likes it! It you show you like something, it just makes you better at it.
*Okay 1. I LOVE THIS* and 2. it makes me sad/scared that it is now on the internet, because like what Devin said, "I want to to be a safe space where you won't be judged", but now it's available for so many awful people to utter their judgements
i'm 99% sure buzzfeed doesn't let their employees read the comments on videos. but people could tweet them about it or something like that. i totally agree with what you're saying though
I have a hard time believing anybody could be at Buzzfeed for years & not see those comments coming. So maybe it's a sign of her strength that she is willing to open up on the internet.
GO JEN! if it's not your thing then it's not your thing, but finding something in it that you like and focusing on that aspect is honestly one of the most inspiring things you can do.
Ooo I appreciate Jen and how she stuck it out even thought she knew it wasn't for her! That must have felt so weird and I could totally understand that kind of discomfort.
This is the best video LadyLike has made. Feminine expression and sensuality is so important to be realized in everyone. I love the strength these women have!! and Devin, thank you for your vulnerability. You speak to so many women through your confidence and reclaiming of your body and your world.
I would recommend something less eye catchy. I think it would help, but a lot of people are assholes so I don't know how much into the comments of ''stripper, and prostitue'' would it help you :/ Hope you find something that does tho!! Maybe go for Hot Yoga cuse that's INSANE.
Yep I would say this would be great to try. After all you will be doing this in a room with ppl and a safe trusting environment....not on a TH-cam video with both a visual and a personal narrative. Go for it! I bet you build all kinds of personal confidence.
You should just try it out in a safe place. Find a good instructor, see how you feel whilst doing it and if it's not your thing or you feel uncomfortable with it you can always stop and if you worry about other people you don't have to share this with them.
another option is bellydance. it engages body control and awareness. pole not required, and it can be done in group or solitarily, depending on how you feel. i hope only healing for you.
I love how everyone hated Devin when she first joined LadyLike (for what reason idk.. I loved her from the get go) and now people are like OMG she's a goodess. Stop prejudging people!
She's definitely not my favorite, but mostly because her interests and personality don't vibe with me. I can't really relate to her the way I can with Kristen (I struggle with similar health problems) or Jen (we're both Japanese). It's ok to have a favorite and least favorite of the group.
Learning pole dance was one of the best things I went for; everything they say is true. It does make you like %75 more confident once you learn and while you’re learning; and it’s perfectly fun exercise

Eszra I was thinking the same thing.
i think it's contradicting
Eszra I mean, it was a video to show what this was all about after all.
I love how everyone is saying that they feel sexy and Kristen is just like IM SO SORE I WANNA DIE
Hi. You wrote in your channel description that you like K-Pop 💕 Which groups soloists do you stan? I personally love Stray Kıds #stay 💜 Of course I like other groups but Stray Kıds are my ultimate bias group 💕👍
Nadja S my ult groups are BTS,TXT and Stray kids but some of my other favourite groups are Twice,Itzy,Ateez,Seventeen,SHINee and Got7💜💕
@@myanancy I love BTS , TXT and Itzy 💜 I started stanning Twice since Fancy era because I prefer more mature concepts over cute ones. No offense to cute concepts but I prefer dark, creepy, elegant, badass and more mature concepts. I got into futuristic and fantasy concepts a couple of months ago 💖💕😎
Nadja S same I’m not the biggest fan of cute concepts but I started stanning Twice during Dance The Night Away era
Nadja S also who are some of your biases? 💜💕

7:12- 7:50 that part literally gave me chills. Like I was almost in tears. Those women looked like goddesses on the pole and they looked sexy and empowered and confident in their own skin. I think every person deserves to feel like that about themselves. Thank you for this powerful video. ❤️
Does anyone know the music?
Preeti Kaur the song’s called Sleep Alone by From a Window. I love this song with their dance, it’s just so beautiful 😍
@@maeday_stoods thank youuuuuuu. After so long someone replied. I agree, this song really goes well with the dance
They look so good
I cried
Honestly, I respect and love Kristen so much for not giving a damn about not exactly having like the "ideal" women's body, and just being able to still look hella hot and having a good time.
Hertta Oksanen
Me too.
I'm like Freddie
I've always considered myself cute and never sexy...

I JUST LIKED THIS COMMENT AND IT TURNING TO 1K JUST MADE MY DAY
Devin sharing her story was so special, and impactful for me. It's something she by no means owes anyone, but I really appreciated it
I've always adored Devin.
She's so strong and seems to know herself well.. not to mention she is so sexy in this! Glad that her boss' actions didn't break her.. She's thriving and overcoming.. love her.
Cerena Leigh *boss's though I agree with you
Pepto Bismoll No her grammer is correct. Society is the incorecct one.
Lunars Legacy no it's not. I agree with her comment, however you only put the comma after the S if there a multitude of things such as the 2 cats' mice, while if a word or name ends with an S you still us the 's such as boss's
Pepto Bismoll when a word ends with an s you put just an apostrophe after the s
Morgan Johnson actually, no that's not how it works. You only put an apostrophe after an s if there is a plural possetion. Such as "the boys' dogs." While if a word or name ends in s you still put an apostrophe s, I see this mistake everywhere. Example "They couldn't deny the Kiss's power
Right after this video, I googled the nearest pole studio and I never looked back. Thanks to Devin for inspiring me to get into pole dance.
I love that she shared her story. Empowerment and being confident in your skin is something easily taken, and hard to get back. This was wonderful.

I’ve always really liked Devin’s energy and personality in videos. Seeing the way she teaches these other ladies and sharing her story has made me love her even more. Great job to all of these ladies!
i usually like her but in this video the things she said felt forced and a bit fake to me, as if it was just to cater to the audience :/
does devin’s back hurt from carrying this group cause she really always gets the girls doing something more than the others 😂
My favorite part about this whole video was that there was so many different body types and it gives you such a different point of view of pole dancing then what you think it actually is
Diet Coke yes it is empowering. Nothing wrong with feel confident and owning your sexuality. Plus I heard it's a good workout.
Diet Coke Pole dancing doesnt make you feel horny do you even know the difference between feeling horny and feeling sexy ?

Ashtyn Hurst I KNOW RIGHT RIGHT.
Pole dancing isn't a sexual thingy unless you make it that way. It's a form of dancing.
Tiny Mayo I know. I’m just saying the rest of them made it sexual 😂
That’s Jen for yee
Devin is so kind and Jen is so cute. Kristin is so fabulous and Freddie is so funny. I LOVE THESE GIRLS!!!
Devin’s story is so empowering and amazing. Although it is rough and sad I feel like it was very brave of her to talk about it and it makes her a huge inspiration and role model to me for being so strong and being able to keep going. Her strength and willingness to change things around is truly admirable
Kristen is rapidly becoming the Ned of Ladylike
Trueeee
😬😬😬 or she’s just Kristin of ladylike and doesn’t need comparison
SF Stefanie I was simply referring to how since she got married she has mentioned her husband in every video. It's adorable and reminds me of how Ned loves his wife and always mentions her. It's a good comparison and a good thing to do.
yeah! it made me chuckle when she played Ned for the Try Guys calendar
SF Stefanie stfu
Honestly, we should have something like this for just dancing, no mirrors, no judgement. Be FREE to SSPAZ out and express yourself, no matter how "ridiculous"
Can't you do that at your own house?
but then the whole point of dancing is learning to look good, right? i'd love to learn to dance and slay everyone at a party but i currently look like a ridiculous chicken when i dance so i have a long way to go
I think ecstatic dance is like that
But the difference between dancing and this is that you're trying to look good and coordinated. If you're on Broadway, and you don't rehearse a dance number in a room of mirrors, you're going to look off point
i like mirrors tho cuz then i can see how good i look and get more confident cuz ngl my body looks nice
I want Jen to find an activity that makes her feel sexy and then do a Lady Like video about it with all the other women.
I could totally see Jen enjoying Brazilian zouk as a leader. E.g. th-cam.com/video/c6wzTC6Cd-Y/w-d-xo.html
Kristen: "For me, sexuality isn't performative. Its more private" Me: mind blown. I have always struggled with being sexual publicly and the simple answer is that for me it's a private thing and the weight on my shoulder just disappeared. Stay awesome Ladylike!
Alexaerive Em I feel the same way as Kristen about sexuality.
Alexaerive Em you are definitely not the only one. I’m a very private person too. It’s ok! As long as you are comfortable and don’t feel shameful about anything.
Agreed!!!
I love the concept of no mirrors and warm light, it would make me feel so comfortable and confident. Also women being together and cheering up each other is wonderful. I really want to attend a class but there is nothing comparable to this near me..
Same here :( the few pole dancing studios near me don’t have this kind of atmosphere and are very expensive.
Can we talk about the cinematography of this video especially combined with the lighting? Gorgeous all around!
Courtney Perry Sometimes it was hard to see stuff but I'm blind so what can I say? Lol
When Freddie said that she doesn't see herself as sexy, she sees herself as cute, I felt that all the syllables in that!
This shows a whole new side of Devin and it’s amazing to see how strong she it
Sophia Rose Yes omfg yes
I didn’t know that happened to Devin, she is amazing and such an awesome woman and role model.
Emily Redeker How would you?
madikinz17 I have a terrible memory; I can’t keep track of everyone on the internet.
Kalista Willington yeah me too
I feel like it doesn't matter if you want to do it for yourself or if you want to do it as a job or even to impress men.

It helps.
KJ Mathias Hang in there! You can do anything! Everyone in this video were also unsure at first, but if you want to try something, do it!
I have heard of people trying intermitted fasting to regain the feeling of control and ownership over their body. Or try and work towards a fitness goal, like running a half marathon, all after medical consultation of course. :)
I went through sexual assault as well it is very hard my assaulter is in prison for 10 years. I have depression and I’m very self conscious as well as anorexic it hard but we will get through it
Survivor?
There’s studios for pole or aerial arts in almost every state and most are 20$ for beginners each class. Do ittt
I'm normally not really fond of buzzfeed videos but this video really opened my mind to pole dancing. I've always see it in a negative light due to movies and ignorance. Never knew it could be so artistic and graceful. I loved that it shows that women don't have to be ashamed to feel sexy in their bodies.

i'm 99% sure buzzfeed doesn't let their employees read the comments on videos. but people could tweet them about it or something like that. i totally agree with what you're saying though
Lets give them some love then! So they will se our comments and not theirs
Pretty sure they knew the risks going in like every other video. They are in the public eye. And they are allowed to read them, just not reply lol
Michelle Lopez Jen replied to a comment today

This is the best video LadyLike has made. Feminine expression and sensuality is so important to be realized in everyone. I love the strength these women have!! and Devin, thank you for your vulnerability. You speak to so many women through your confidence and reclaiming of your body and your world.
I took to yoga after i was raped. It gave me a lot of body confidence, but not sexual confidence. I wonder if this would be a good next step.
I would recommend something less eye catchy. I think it would help, but a lot of people are assholes so I don't know how much into the comments of ''stripper, and prostitue'' would it help you :/ Hope you find something that does tho!! Maybe go for Hot Yoga cuse that's INSANE.
You are so brave. ❤️ I am so sorry that you had to deal with this problem that needs to be solved
I love all the confidence that devin has
When Devin said this isn't a gendered place I was lowkey hoping they'd be like "So surprise Eugene is doing it too!!!"
ArianaNicolex omg saaaameee
I love how everyone hated Devin when she first joined LadyLike (for what reason idk.. I loved her from the get go) and now people are like OMG she's a goodess. Stop prejudging people!
Melody no it's not obvious
I didn’t! I loved her but also missed Saf lol now we get both 💁🏻♀️ since safiya has her own channel
*goddess (sorry, I had too. I'm practically autocorrect...)
She's definitely not my favorite, but mostly because her interests and personality don't vibe with me. I can't really relate to her the way I can with Kristen (I struggle with similar health problems) or Jen (we're both Japanese). It's ok to have a favorite and least favorite of the group.
I love how they describe Nyla's job as "run the world".
Learning pole dance was one of the best things I went for; everything they say is true. It does make you like %75 more confident once you learn and while you’re learning; and it’s perfectly fun exercise
