There’s always tons of artists like this. The “nowadays” statement is invalid (cognitive bias) same with statements like “there’s not a lot of good music anymore” accompanied by “back in my day”. There’s always bad, good, great and amazing stuff. You don’t need to put other artists to compliment one.
