Maybe this is just me, but the orange faced clown is more unnerving than the obviously made to look scary clown. Like, obviously manic and/or gory clowns are too over the top to be scary imo. you know Joe Davola from that one Seinfeld episode? He was a good scary clown.
right clowns are usually pretty cute and awesome in their own right but what SHOULD make them scary is that childish cuteness clashing with something sinister just making it a scary guy with white face paint doesn't really make it scary

the thing with this game is that its designed for one person.. but upto 4 can play it. Friend of mine streamed it and it was a solid 90mins to complete looking for everything.. with 4 of them looking for items, no wonder it took them only 40mins
Even if people call this game "scuffed", it's actually a really good game. It does both horror *and* terror amazingly well which is something most scary games fail to do.
Having good ideas does not excuse the negatives. The horror element is lost off the gate with TTS intro. When you enter the game the clown dialogue can be spinechilling until few minutes pass and the lines start repeating it immidietly breaks immersion and all sense of dread because you are now reminded periodically that this is a repeating recording not an actual being. The game allows you to see the monster completely and from safety for far too long, this also breaks immersion as you are able to contextualize what you are facing. Xenomorph was most scary in the first movie when you never saw the full creature clearly. Here you can look and see the clown completely and once again reminded that this is a simple dumb AI trapped in a fence instead of intelligent devious hunter. Like sam demonstrated. He hates clown horror but the moment he saw it clearly he calmed down. This is the effect of knowing too much and seeing too clearly that immidietly kills all mood in horror. As for gameplay this is just jankier devour and devour itself isnt much to write home about. The game isnt breaking new ground and alot more work just to be same level with devour, and helluva lot more work to be decent horror game.

You know exactly where the "enemy" is at all times due to the audio, the capture is just a shitty jumpscare, and there's nothing else that threatens you. You literally could speedrun the game like they did by just getting all six masks right at the door unmolested
It has potential, it was spooky up until they saw the clown up close and realised they are completely safe and that derpy guy is the only enemy. Sucks all the atmosphere right out of the game and atmosphere is everything for horror. They would've been better off using the wood clowns like weeping angels where more and more wake up with progress, would've fit the voice better too. Instead they move... once. likely a small team and their first game let's hope they take another swing at it and update it with something scarier.
Pretty scuffed but it's just as fun to see you guys having a laugh.
The roast from Daz was perfect and Sam if scared of clowns and Stan is afraid of spiders.
