This captures the spirit and essence of Neil Young's composition so very well. A wonderful rendition from a great Canadian group. Hats of to Whitehorse! Cheers!
Really? Huge Neil Young fan here and I think it's one of the best covers I've heard in a long time. They put their own unique spin on it while still remaining faithful to the original. They could have easily covered it note for note or completely re-arranged it but I think they found a very happy middle ground. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I hardly think this is a "dumpster fire".
+David Leyda - really nice tribute - don't understand the negativity; their rendition of "Ohio" was even better, as in as good as it gets better ... and I've never heard of Whitehorse until this and the previous video ("Ohio").
Yeah - it didn't work great for me either - other than it was an interesting take on the classic. Right out of the gate, the transition from the phone handset to regular mikes was a bit jarring. And while Melissa's voice is stunningly beautiful - the duet during the opening stanza also didn't seem right. That was surprising - and kinda reassuring, as it's really meant to be a single person speaking to an old man. Reassuring in that I'm not normally a lyrics person ... but this seemed incongruent in a non-trivial way. So maybe, in a roundabout way - it was at least meaningful for me - helping me appreciate the beauty of Neils lush yet simple creation. Once the song got going, though? Much better. I've become a fan of Whitehorse - and very much enjoy their covers of NY songs (Ohio? best cover ever).
Well, I didn't particularly like it - but would have never given it a thumbs down. How can you do that to well crafted music, even when you don't happen to particularly enjoy the artistic interpretations they chose?
What a great cover...especially the intro!!!!!!

Great arrangement on this old Neil classic - nice job all around!!
I feel young as I was about 14 when that song came out. (I went back in a time machine)
An interesting and enjoyable cover of one of the greatest ten songs ever written.
Fantastic!!!!
One of the best covers I've ever heard of this song, and I've searched far and wide 👍
Yeah, this was a really special one. Thanks for listening!
Beautfull!! TOP!!
Nice, creative cover
Cool!
This cover and the Ohio are so great and Neil would definitely appreciate!
A vibrant tribute to Neil Young & a terrific version of 'Old Man', one of his many anthems. Thank you Whitehorse!
Nice cover. Thanks, from Brazil.
Melissa and Luke rocked these tunes hard!
I didn't think anybody could make this song sound bad. I was wrong
This is a dumpster fire

@@daveinindy It's just not a match for voices, as i heard it.
Didn't care for the match. Most liked it, though.
Someone put a thumbs down on this????
Right? Morons. And on their cover of Ohio, too.
there's an idiot in every bunch
You're always going to have those people who hate on any cover.
