when my sister had her first child, it was also an emergency, like it was a super emergency, she didn’t wear the hijab and her arms and legs weren’t covered, i was in the room and i was wearing hijab, the first male doctor came in he saw me and soon he realized something, he said he’s sorry but at the moment no female doctor is available, during the whole exam process he didn’t directly watch my sister’s face, he only focuses on my sister’s condition, he tried so hard to avoid cause any uncomfortable situation towards my sister. this doctor literally touched our family.

I remember my husband was upset that there was no female available to give me the epidural. I was in so much pain after being induced and he didn't want a man to see me. I was stuck and suffering immensely. Alhamdullilah, he had a change of heart. I respect my husband and I knew he would realized that he couldn't put me through this. After I got the epidural, my husband cried apologizing to me. He realized he was in the wrong, and I completely understand him. I am sorry there was no female anestiologist available for you. Sadly, most people who do anesthesia, especially epidural, seem to be man. I am not sure why, it would be nice to have more ladies availabe, because some of us just feel more comfortable with a female doing presidure (I know I do and for me its not even because of religious reasons, I'd just rather have a female doctor or a nurse taking care of me most of the time unless there is no other way). But I am glad you got some help eventually, I can't imagine the pain during childbirth. My mom had a difficult birth with me since I was born facing legs first, and that's actually more common than people realize.
