Being a performer can be strange, for part of the job involves a very public sharing of facts about one's interior life. Performers have to expose themselves that way all the time. This is a nice interview because it lets Sara share truths about herself comfortably. Bradshaw knows Sara's story well enough to keep the interview informative and respectful. And Sara is Sara.

Of course she plays guitar...incredibly. It seems that I'm constantly surprised by bluegrass musicians who I know by a particular instrument, then there they are playing a different instrument at a professional level. I am also struck that nearly every bluegrass musician origin story I've heard has some connection with the "bluegrass community" helping, teaching, supporting young, new musicians. What a lovely community it is.
