    Amazing video as always Simon!🔥
    I had one question:
    If I have just learned Backend (a beginner), but I am already good at frontend , should I take some months or maybe an year to improve my backend skills from ok to good, or should I start building the products now?
    I fear that I wont be able to keep adding features, since the experience may hold me up.
    What would you suggest?

    • @SimonHoiberg
      @SimonHoiberg  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Thank you, Swapnil!
      If you're already good at front end (I assume you got a good grib of JavaScript / TypeScript), then I honestly don't think it'll take you that long to pick up the necessary backend skills.
      Dig into NodeJS / Express and Serverless. Grind that for 1-2 months, and you'll be good to go!
      Obviously, there's much more to backend than can be learned in just a few months, but this will get you started building full-stack applications pretty well - and you'll pick up the rest from there.

    • @SwapnilMane
      @SwapnilMane ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@SimonHoiberg Thanks Simon, That clears up alot of my things. It took me around 2 years to become good at frontend and I am still learning. The thought of giving 1-2 years more for backend haunted me a lot, because I just want to quickly get to building products.😅
      I will make sure to take some months (not more) and get to building cool products soon! 🤩

      I'd love to build it!
      So, if possible, could you give me feedback as a potential customer when I need it in the process of building this product? (I know you are busy, so email communication is fine, no calls).
      I can pay you some money if needed (I quit my job in April to become a full-time indie hacker so it will be around $100/m at most...).
      Until this product is released to the public, I will develop this app just for you based on your feedback.

I would love to get you access to the plugin so you can do some exclusive beta testing. I was able to write 200 affiliate articles in a day with this and they are starting to drive traffic 😅. It would be so cool to have you do a test to see what happens when you use this method on an established site...

  • @johnmccain3877
    @johnmccain3877 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    1. You create successful plugin for webflow and later on they will adopt to own implementation (guess which one will be more popular)
    2. Website builders heavily relies on marketing (aka it's hard to sell yet another website builder rather than "build")
    3. How many on the web there are enthusiasts like you willing to pay for "Hosted Learning Management system with API & JS library"? Most "teachers" (or individuals) will use big platforms. Large organizations are capable of building their own solution. Building "micro SaaS" for few geeks is questionable.
    4. IDE is the best tool to edit markdown files. WYSIWYG times are in the past.
    5. Companies are paying/investing thousands hundreds of dollars for a product but would buy/subscribe for "Price page generator"? It's not a rocket science to build your own which you can customize in a way you want and without any dependency on third party/integration.

    What would you expect from a courses CMS that is pluggable? Do you want a UI somewhere else to edit the stuff, and possible REST API, and then plug a JS that will bootstrap an app into your current page? What about user linking, how would you expect to integrate users with the rest of your website?

    • @SimonHoiberg
      @SimonHoiberg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'd love an admin UI to set up the courses, quizzes, and content.
      Then a REST (or GraphQL) API to use the data on my site.
      A little like Prismic is doing as a headless CMS.
      But just much, much more simple and only for course creation.

      Nice! Never heard about Learnyst. It does seem like a place to sell courses, rather than to manage the content.
      So it's again one of those that I'm not looking for here.

    Great video, intresting one actually since I am intrested in knowing more about Saas. What do you think about creating a marketing agency for Saas companies, and why ? Thank you man you got a subscriber.

    • @SimonHoiberg
      @SimonHoiberg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So pleased to hear that 🙌
      I think there's a huge potential in marketing services for SaaS - especially for founding teams that are mostly technical.
      There's a well-known barrier for engineers when it comes to marketing, so if you can offer a service that bridges that gab, you'll be doing great business.
