Man, at the start I had to pause to get my popcorn and beer again! The green Wolftick shirt is prepped for Thursday! Can’t wait to see the real-time review on these. $75 is a steal if these hold up and you’re just the person to run them through the ringer.
Well thank you!! I feel the same man, and funny you remembered! Isn't the Patreon the greatest!! LOL So happy you are representing the green baby!! Much Love WILLIAM🤘🤘🙏🍀
9:41 The white stuff on the bolt is original thread locker, I always applied Loctite 243 to cleate a bond between the threads. It's unlikely these bolts got corroded, as they are less exposed to road salt. So to do this you really have to want to make them corrode. Just in case the bolts should only be tightened enough for the brake to be secure while in use, but you should be able to knock them out of position. This is done to protect the brake, if you torque it down hard you will bend and snap brake levers. I've seen alot of ths ton kids bikes, cus bikes were assembled by summer job ppl not mechanic. Not checked. To prevent bolts from corroding you can use a bit of grease at the shim. Also Loctite protects it from corroding too. But let it cure over right. But keep in mind it turns into powder eventually afte rmany months, but Loctite works well to keep bolts secure. But don't overdo it. It will be harder to remove. But to me it seems like you overtorque the bolt. You should be able to remove these bolts with a mini ratchet.
Not sure if there was ever Loctite on there, but there was definitely corrosion. When aluminum and steel are joined together for a while plus some rain it will start to corrode.
Haha it was at our normal time. Remember we use daylight savings time so it changes every spring and fall.😆 In a side note, Jeremiah forgot and was an hour late to work🤣.
Those pads are 1000% asbestos 🤣. Wasn't expecting ol Wolfman to be talking about pinching the tip this morning lol. Pretty clean install, nice to see the GT Aggressor make an appearance.
They look like semi metallic pads to me but I don't have much experience with pads haha my codes have full metallic pads and they stop on a dime. Little bro had a good time riding this weekend. He didn't go otb and I didn't eat it on my first try with clipless pedals 😂 honestly pretty confidence inspiring for someone who's scared of jumps. You really feel locked in with them
Loop the brake hose and zip tie the sh*t out of it. Thats what I did cause I didn't want to cut my hoses either. Might be looking for a full suspension frame to build and I'll probably need the longer hoses for it haha glad the GT is getting some love. Hope those new zooms perform well! Neat to hear they work well with shimano rotors too
Dude you clueless now!! Ooh! FANCY LOL, I have thought of it but it scares me....I really don't think I could pedal with a planted foot all the time. Bit getting air would be nice with the bike stuck stuck me
That's why I put some grease on bolts, so they don't seize. Plus, I don't tight too much brake leavers and shifters, I can turn them up or down with little bit of effort. Just in case if I crash, I won't snape the levers. Considering how often you crash, you might try same tactic 😉 just don't leave it too loose, or it will move under normal riding, when braking or changing gears.
I run the brake lever on the inside of the shifter on the handle bars so my one finger can just reach it really helped me keep my other fingers out of the way😉
Love you guys's videos. But can you tell me what size Hydraulic line sleeve and Olive for the zoom brakes. And where to get them. Thank you and have a good day.
When you were showing the brake lever hitting your knuckles, that's the same problem I'm having with my Shimano MT200's. I don't know if it's because I switched from the RaceFace Half Nelson grips to some grips that are a bit more thick or if maybe I need to slide the brake lever over some, all I know is it's pretty annoying, I didn't have that problem with my Zoom brakes, and actually my Zoom brakes had the same type of lever as your Shimano MT401 levers.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 🤣🤣🤣 had to color match the grips ,lol. I actually went with BW Ergo Lock 1.0 grips, they're a tiny bit thicker then the half Nelson but thinner at the inside and go wider towards the end of the bar, makes for a more comfy grip, you should give them a try, actually I'll just send you a pair, look out for them next week.
@NonLegit Nation 2 awesome man, thanks for thinking of me! Now don't hate if I don't dig 🤣🤣 Please!!! But I probably will like them if they are only slightly thicker😉 Appreciate it and please add a note if possible. Thanks again brother 🙏 also color matching is no EXCUSE!!😜

Weird seeing zoom brakes with the levers being on the"correct" sides. My zooms had the handles opposite which drove me crazy until I sucked it up and got a hose kit so I could size the hoses and switch the hoses around
Man you are right! So happy that they are not wonky🤣🤣 Last thing I want to do is cut hoses man, it drives me nuttz. Makes for some good content but usually takes a while.
I have the zoom 2 posting and they work good however I'm not on downhills and any black diamond type trails..but was thinking of upgrading them to a more powerful bite for a bikepacking setup..hence the extra weight on the bike..thanks for video you guys rock!!!
I might have to try the zoom hb 876. The other zooms I got. I took apart. And added fluid. They work better then when I first got them. Now would I recommend them for downhill. No. Simply because ya can not feather the break. I have them on two budget bikes I have. They work. I will probably get the hb 876 for the budget bikes since it seems better. I’m gonna be spending way more money on breaks for my intense bike where ya search n search for the best deal. I’m looking for magura or trp. Have you guys used any of them ??
Funny you said the brake levers are weird I was looking at all those zoom type brake sets and was thinking the same about the levers so I said the heck with it and just ordered the zoom HB-100 Xtech calipers the other day so I can use my stock levers. they probably will work real well the full oil set up but I been happy with the HB-100's on my other bike so I think they will be good on the goose ledge X1. Nice video guy's

The problem with other brand of brakes thats noy Shimano,if u broke a lever or Caliper u cant purchase a replacement parts, also it its difficult to repair.Thats why i install a shimano Deore brakeset (Easy to bleed, Performance and Durable).Well, brake and fork are the most important/crucial bike. upgrade.

Awesome video as always! I have a question about this GT. I have a GT Timberline 29" with basic parts, but I wanted to upgrade it and basically just take advantage of the frame. Can this frame handle heavier trails and small jumps (maximum of 1 meter)? And regarding the suspension, Is yours ok? I'm thinking of a Pike 130 mm (original is an XCM 28).
Hey brother, you can catch up on our videos of the GT. We have put it thru hell and back and have gotten plenty of air as well!LOL But frame is great, and the factory fork is not that great over time. I run now an x fusion, but just watch some videos brother. If you got any questions feel free.

First of all, thanks man😊👍 We admittedly don't do our selves any favors by the way we do things. This channel was, is, and always will be centered around our relationship first and everything else second. We have made some changes over time that help the less interested or newer viewers, but we definitely don't follow the TH-cam trends. We have made some episodes in the past that include everything but we prefer our usual way, especially since we do two episodes a week while holding other jobs. We put 50 hours a week into our channel and it would probably take another 10 or so to make one of the episodes complete every week. We do appreciate the constructive criticism but we hope this helps you understand a little more about our stance on this. Thanks again man, and thanks for watching the DVD episodes🤣👍👍

That's some great collection of the best music ever my man😆. I used to have more but my boy's took them to school for weight lifting class and left them there🤬. Damn kids are overrated😆! My DVD collection is also pretty strong and about 10 times my cd collection.

Great question man, as many bikes as I have ridden and brake tests, not once have I had failure. Thank God!! I will tell you that will now be in the back of my head because of you!!! 🤬🤬😉
I have to chime in on this, this is the old guy. The Tick has been hit in the head alot so he forgets. He actually famously had a complete failure of his rear break and it didn't go well from there. Here is the link to that video and you might want to skip all the stuff in the beginning, so fast forward to the 12:07 mark or use the time stamps in the description. Thanks and here you go: th-cam.com/video/sLEIOoxVY_0/w-d-xo.html
I am not too sure, they have a weird punch out design, you just put pressure on the pivot point of the lever and it comes out. Curious if there are any others like that.
just so you guys know, the video thats posted in the google format doesn't allow for likes or dislikes. It makes you remember or care enough to push the YT button to view it on YT before you get any likes or possibly any views. idk. fyi.
Interested to see how they feel vs shimano 4 pots? Those levers are fricken ugly and very poor design. Isn’t the whole point of 4 pots being 1 finger braking and lots of power? Why do you need to put your whole hand on brake lever? Almost as ugly as that stem that came on XR pro. Always nice to see the GT!
😉🤣🤣🤣🤣 Man you are so right!! And the stem comment too! LOL WOW thanks for the laughs 😅 We will see ya on the next brother, thay makes so much sense, why have a foot long lever for a 1 finger brake🤔🤔
Brakes look like they will be good stoppers but you are right. That lever shape is Whack! Even the tektro levers have a bend for that one finger action!!!
I can't believe you wrapped the back brake line like that. The line should be trimmed to length, and after reconnecting; bleeding would be addressed. I'll look elsewhere, I guess...
Just use the shimano lever on the zoom's 🤯 prob the cheapest pads u can find on aliexpress. Old man if he gives u shit in the photo shoot just kick him in the 🐈
kinda wonder what goes in in the mind of their design team... "lets build a really good brake and offer it at great $ value but then use the worst lever possible"

Thanks brother, I will suit up COMPLETELY!! LOL I may be a ball of bubble ha ha ha!!! Our patrons get to watch most of our openers unedited and full length. That was a a favorite one!! LOL See ya on the next brother 🤘
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 🤣🤣🤣
Are those CD or DVD's?
That's some great collection of the best music ever my man😆. I used to have more but my boy's took them to school for weight lifting class and left them there🤬. Damn kids are overrated😆!
My DVD collection is also pretty strong and about 10 times my cd collection.
They kinda look like copies of the shimano brakes, looking forward to seeing how these perform, cheap for what they are. Make sure you wear those gloves! 😂
Great video as always
Take care gents 😎👍🍺
A little copieish! Lol Globes will be worn, and always appreciate ya brother. 😉
My late dad was an irish/galician blue eyed cuban , 6' , 180 pounds of prime muscle , boxer , wrestler , jiu jitsu black belt , built like a stack of rabid cannonballs with a very short fuse ..... I just couldn't , I look like mom ; 5'8" , 155 pounds with a body like a retired tennis player . Lol .
🤣🤣🤣Your dad sounds like WOLFMAN!!! And your built like an old tennis player! LOL
Hey tick u ever have full brake failure , with hydraulic brake system or cable , if so can u do vid on that , maybe test it , lol
Great question man, as many bikes as I have ridden and brake tests, not once have I had failure. Thank God!! I will tell you that will now be in the back of my head because of you!!! 🤬🤬😉
Make sure ur padded up , and gloves , lol , I be watchin , lol
I have to chime in on this, this is the old guy. The Tick has been hit in the head alot so he forgets. He actually famously had a complete failure of his rear break and it didn't go well from there. Here is the link to that video and you might want to skip all the stuff in the beginning, so fast forward to the 12:07 mark or use the time stamps in the description. Thanks and here you go: th-cam.com/video/sLEIOoxVY_0/w-d-xo.html
Zoom lol if the fail that's exactly what you'd be doing! Love the name!
🤣🤣 Man I really hope not!!
Can you not just swap off the levers?
I am not too sure, they have a weird punch out design, you just put pressure on the pivot point of the lever and it comes out. Curious if there are any others like that.
97 Canadian Kopex. Not bad. But do they actually have 4 moving pots?
We will see on the next video man, pretty sure they do, but we will confirm it for the realtime review.
I’m assuming you do wrestling or mma, because of the ears?
🤣🤣🤘 Yes and I am currently a coach, i teach all no gi jiu jitsu.
It looks almost identical to MEROCA M4.
Very similar, all but the levers and bleed port I believe.....
6:45 lol
Knew you would catch that too!! LOL
He wasn't looking for oil in the box he thought there was beer in there
🤣🤣🤣 Oh My God you are so right!!! LOL
just so you guys know, the video thats posted in the google format doesn't allow for likes or dislikes. It makes you remember or care enough to push the YT button to view it on YT before you get any likes or possibly any views. idk. fyi.
I have the Zoom HB-875 multi color Breaks single piston and i find they work better the the Zoom 4 piston but thats just me..
Home Depot has better riding gloves than any bicycle store ..... Word .
HA ha i could see that, a little Mechanix gloves.
2:15 lol
New you would catch that, Lol
Brakes look like they will be good stoppers but you are right. That lever shape is Whack! Even the tektro levers have a bend for that one finger action!!!
Man they seem chincy, hope they do well on the trails. Stopping is always a good thing lol. Thanks brother
Look same as Meroca
Very similar, all but the levers and bleed port I believe.....
First 🥇
🏆🥇👍
I can't believe you wrapped the back brake line like that. The line should be trimmed to length, and after reconnecting; bleeding would be addressed. I'll look elsewhere, I guess...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love that you actually answered the pad question after all that.

We used to do alot of giveaways but it was too hard to get people to claim their prizes. What would you want to be given away?
kinda wonder what goes in in the mind of their design team... "lets build a really good brake and offer it at great $ value but then use the worst lever possible"
🤣🤣🤣 YES!! That is exactly what the ad said!! LOL
4ur bike vids I'd like 2giv u my salsa and pickle recipes
