I tore my ACL playing soccer in college. Did 3 weeks of PT before surgery, then 6 more months of PT after surgery. It’s extremely frustrating to feel like you’ve lost your strength and independence. I am a nurse too and can agree we make the worst patients, but I promise that taking your rehab seriously is SO worth it. I’m pretty much back to full function now minus an occasional pain here and there in the gym. My friend tore her ACL around the same time as me, was inconsistent with her PT, and still has knee issues to this day. Take care of yourself and hang in there!! ❤

So true! Fractured humerus couple years back. I was super consistent and pushed myself on PT, full ROM and pretty much "normal" now, minus the occasional aches and pain after a workout session if I didn't warmup/massaged post workout. Side note: There's no normal post injuries, you have to accept and acclimate to a new "normal" and that sometimes others don't understand (esp. if they never got injured).

Seeing you talking about Fabletics really brings back memories of your UO videos that kept me company for my uni years. Funny I live on the opposite side of the earth but it brings memories back for me too hahaha. Love how it went from athletic wear to scrubs, just shows how much time flies~

I had repeat dislocations in my right knee about 3 years ago! I ended up having a tibial tubercle anteromedialization + an MPFL reconstruction! The recovery was long- 9 months of PT to gain back knee and quad strength/mobility. It was hard but now my knee is more stable than ever! Love the video! Good luck on your recovery! 💕

Let me tell you Kiara sharing your leg story was so reassuring, I’m going through that right now post-meniscus tear and it’s been such a pain not being able to workout 😭😭 especially as I use to do it 4-5 times a week but I have 100% trust the Lord has me in this season and everything will work out!

I've had Calcific Tendonitis in my left shoulder. The only things that hurt worse are the heart attacks and I have had 2 kidney stones. They put me on Oxycontin for the tendonitis and it still hurt. I will never take that stuff again. They finally gave me a shot and within 3 minutes it stopped hurting. I cried I was so happy. I hope they get your leg sorted out. Cheers

Broke my collarbone three times. Fragile bones, I guess. 5 operations, and I am still waiting to get the metal out. In total I've been struggling with it for 4 years. Still can't see the end of it. I picked myself up soo many times. Dealing with an injury is unbelievably mentally draining. I'm with you Kiara!

I had tendonitis in my left foot from something. The insurance I had at the time was terrible (anx would have to pay out of pocket for PT), which lead me to walking on it for a full calendar year. Switched jobs and got a new insurance, I finally went to Athletico to get checked out and I went with them for 6 months 3 x week and graduated. The only time my foot is acting up is when the weather changes or if its real humid. This runner is so happy to be back running

Yes! I sprained my shoulder at the gym, last summer. And irresponsible me never got a proper rehab, I let it "heal" by itself.
I lost a lot of strength but I had to learn the hard way of always check a doctor before it´s too late.

I'm glad you kept your appointment! Even if the doctor had said "oh it's going to pass by itself" it would have been good to know for sure.
I twisted my knee as a teen and unfortunately it never fully recovered. It's okay as long as I keep resonably fit and don't overburden it, but that happens so quickly... I guess it will be a weak spot forever. I hope your leg does fully recover!

i’m a competitive dancer :) sprained my left ankle BAD via a hard fall last july at my national dance comp…but i continued dancing because i didn’t want to be taken out of any of my dances even though i literally couldn’t point my foot 😬👀 (would never do this if it happened again. it was so painful) to this day i have to be careful when doing a couple of tap steps where you wing your foot, but other than that i fortunately recovered fully after about 4-5 weeks and had my most successful season yet this past year. it took some time to build back my strength and confidence and i still struggle with it from time to time, but i’m so much stronger than i was pre-injury. sending you lots of love and well wishes for a successful recovery ! 🩷

Yes- Achilles tendonitis! Horrendous because at first I couldn't figure out what was wrong- I thought I needed to walk more which was such a bad idea as that made the pain worse. Then I tried new shoes but nope, not the problem. Went to the Doctor in the end and my achilles tendon was so swollen! Only thing that sorts it is regular stretching so took a good few weeks to sort itself out and even now, I can still sometimes feel it.

Yes it is always better to get injuries checked out even if they are feeling slightly better. I hope that you can get the care that you need and recover quickly but stronger than ever!
Answer to the question of the day: Oh, my entire life as been a series of injuries that i've had to bounce back from 🤭 (probably once a decade something major happens)
I have CP and when i was 15, i had a derotational osteotomy on my hip and recovery took 6+ months (i had the op two weeks before christmas and i didn't go back to school until April)... i've also broken my collarbone which wasn't fun with the shakiness of CP... I've also broken both of the 5th metatarsals at separate times (stress fractures walking on the side of my feet), the latest being 3 months and i just this week, i started walking on my own again. 🥳(i completely lost my balance and leg strength)

Praying for you! I was hit in the back of the ankle 3 weeks ago at camp and my achilles tendon tore completely so I am in a boot and can't walk or drive (or really do much of anything) at least until August 28th and then will hopefully be just walking in the boot without one of the heel risers or crutches (they said it will heal and I don't need surgery at least!) and I am also just 9 weeks out from my wedding 😥 So I totally get how frustrating that injury and changing pace of life can be!!

I’ve had quite a few volleyball injuries, but by far my worse one was while I was at work. I was 23 (I’m now 27). I was a waitress and the floor was concrete. Well my coworker mopped the floor and I didn’t see that. No sign. And I was rushing so wasn’t paying attention. I slipped in the water and landed on my tailbone. Ending up shattering my tailbone and because of that injury, I have residual damage up my spine. I have a herniated disc along with another bulging disc. So 4 years later, I’m still recovering from back issues

I'm not sure if this is considered an injury but I've had two surgeries go wrong. I had a hernia surgery and what happened was my intestine folded up like you would fold up a garden hose and there was no flow going through. And my intestine got caught on the scar tissue the surgery before. I felt horrible and told my surgeon. He won't listen at first. I kept telling him to get me examined and he finally did. He examined me, rushed me to surgery and if I didn't have the surgery I would be eating through a tube the rest of my life. Then months later that surgery went bad and I lost a lot of blood and almost didn't make it. So it was a surgery that went bad to another surgery that went bad to fix one another. How often do surgeries go bad or wrong?
