Mom and Dad passed away, last year and a few years ago. Selling the house and 10 acres so today I'll be heading to the empty house to sit on the floor and imagine how it used to be. Full of family, friends, a big table full of good food. 25+ years of family gatherings during Thanksgiving. Just want to see it one last time :( Thanks for all of your videos Mr. Paul.
Dear Santa, this year for Paul's Christmas special please encourage him to sit down and tell us all those long-winded anecdotes he keeps promising he could "bore us" with for hours. That's all I want this year; no shooting, no chronographing, no meat-targets, no rebuttles, or field cooking. Just good old-fashioned, fascinating stories and anecdotes from Mr. Paul Harrell. Thank you!
Five years ago, if you told me that I’d be watching a grown man wearing an older shooting jacket making biscuits, id have said you were crazy. But two years in a row, I’m watching and liking.
Paul has inspired me to try my hand at biscuits and gravy. I'm terrible at baking and was worried I'd screw up the biscuits, but watching Paul haphazardly dump ingredients into a bowl then cook in a dutch oven and have them come out perfect, after doing it for the first time no less, I think I can manage it in a modern kitchen
As Paul yelled "dammit get down!" for sure everyone in a circle of 1mile dropped in the dirt and started to sweat instantly until he said "everything is ok"...
I always feel safe when Paul is packin, especially enjoying a holiday cooking over an open fire. Reading the comments on this video feels like a nice Thanksgiving gathering of friends. Thanks for sharing this moment with all of us.
The difference between an F in cooking class and an A in the field is the fact that people in the field are very hungry. Edible is fine, edible with taste and looking like it should is exceptional.
Mr. Harrell, thanks for this. I lost my last living relative October 2nd and have no family of my own. My friends are off doing their own thing and my presence in their stuff would be, at best, rude. The Holidays are, for lots of people like me, synonymous with Lonelidays. Thanks both for thinking of folks like me, and for entertaining and educating folks like me. It is very appreciated, and very welcome. Oh, and you did make a slight error in my view about one thing. There is no such thing as "too much" frosting. If there is more frosting anywhere on the planet, you don't have too much. ;)
I celebrate my holidays alone too. Same situation, and I'm 35. I celebrate them like Mr Bean. Lmaoooo I find they're still really nice holidays. Thanksgiving dinner etc is always perfect. I'm the awesomest relative because I always get me the PERFECT gift. I'm really looking forward to Christmas because I'm getting me some bitchin gun parts this year.

Mr. Fritts, I too spend the holidays solo, not "alone." May I suggest considering doing something with the day.....something you like doing, somewhere you like or might like going, some "event" you might like doing, some "adventure" you might like to do. It can make for a fun, maybe even, great, day/weekend/etc, and you may find that you have a better holiday than many who may have suffered through interaction with in-laws and/or family, that were less than enjoyable.

Happy Thanksgiving, Paul! Yeah, I'm estranged from what little family I have left, and am sitting at home, with only my kitty as company. I was very glad to see your Turkey Day Special show up. In our house, growing up, we used Thanksgiving as a day not only for a massive horde of kin coming over for my mom's cooking (can't blame them, mom was an awesome cook), but to remember everything we were thankful for. I'm alive, reasonably healthy, have enough to meet my needs, a roof over my head, food to eat, and a kitty that tolerates me fairly well. So many don't even have a roof or a bed; yeah, I'm thankful for what I have. It's not a lot, but it's enough.
Best wishes for a good holiday. Cats make great family members. Let me encourage you to get out there and create your own "family." Lots of people you can find that would be happy to share part of their life.
Lol when he’s shooting he is “shatner-esque” but when he’s cooking he’s “Bob Ross-esque”. Love your content Paul, most informative/non-bs guns and ammo content there is! Thanks for the years of entertainment.
I know I'm some days behind, but I didn't have a very thrilling thanksgiving. In particular, I didn't get to spend it with my son, which is always hard. So I made my food, sat at the computer and watched this, and I had all the joy I could have gotten if I had spent it with my own family. Thanks for your content, Paul. You make strangers feel like close friends, and that's exactly what the world needs.
Paul, thank you once again for a lovely thanksgiving special. since my divorce, thanksgivings are a very boring affair with an empty house and no nearby family. these specials really help me zone out and enjoy an otherwise empty holiday.
I look forward each year to Paul’s thanksgiving & Christmas specials. Paul is definitely a national treasure! Man I’d give about anything to be able to have a camping trip with Paul just so I could hear all his stories
Camping with Paul, I'd pay whatever he charges! That could be great money for Paul, a hunting/camping with Paul. He could do a weekend or week long type group workshop.
This has fast become something of a tradition for me, to watch the Paul Harrell Thanksgiving cookout and listen to anecdotes and always learning something. It's relaxing. Sometimes, I can watch the whole way through. Other times, like this year, I was busy with other errands and things and so I watched this in bits and pieces. I am thankful to have this entertainment and resource.
@23:50 - Flour can be quite explosive. That's why there were never any flames, even candles, in mills. Grain silos are another place you don't want to inspect with an open flame. Great show as always!
It was really thoughtful that you made this long video with certain people in mind who may appreciate the length for the holiday. I watched with my wife and kids thinking, “Ah, cool! It’s way too long so we won’t watch all of this. But we’ll watch some.” We watched almost ALL of it! We especially loved the cooking, and the kids especially enjoyed laughing at your sense of humor. Thanks, Paul! Great video!
I am honestly way more excited for this than I am for food. I mean Im really going to love the food, but Paul's special's are absolutely amazing. Thanks Paul and crew.
Mr. Harrell, what a nice premise for a long video! Even though I spent a rather sanguine thanksgiving with family, well the few that are still here, I will enjoy this presentation at my leisure, when I need it. Thank you so much!
Been watchin your thanksgiving specials since you stared doing them in 2019. Love it. I look forward to it every thanksgiving morning when I wake up. Its become a yearly tradition. Happy thanksgiving Paul to you and your family.

Hi Paul. I’m English and therefore, prohibited from the majority of firearms. However, I enjoy all your videos, finding them entertaining and very informative. Happy thanksgiving!
While I would not attempt to invite violence. But is there not a way to work through your government's legislative process to change the laws and bring about some form of legal self defense with forearms?
@@danielmaine45 My American friend, the law in England sends the HOMEOWNER to prison should he injure an intruder if they are attacked. So I would say defending yourself with a firearm is completely out of the question in any scenario. Trust me, your second amendment is sacred and you need to protect it.
@@CaptainoftheCs my British compatriot, I would offer a gentle correction here. The second amendment has no bearing on wether or not I am allowed to own a firearm. I would have the right to own one if the second amendment prohibited firearm ownership. I was born with this right, and so were you. Every person born in every country has the innate right to property and to self defense. Firearms are both property and a means of self defense. I'm sorry your government has seen fit to strip you and the rest of the subjects of the crown if this right. It's a travesty.
@@innawoodsman Thats all good in theory, until you get to court and some liberal judge sends you down for 30 years.
So call them.
Call a truce for one day.
@Sontar - Agreed. I’m thankful for much as well. Forgiveness and acceptance can provide a way back to family harmony- if you want it.
Happy Thanksgiving Paul! Thank you for all you do, from humor to education; we appreciate your time and effort.
It really is a decidedly cozy experience watching Paul cook while innawoods
Right there with ya on the divorce. I hope you are able to spend Christmas with family and/or good friends!
God bless brotha 👊🏻
As much as I enjoy Paul's normal videos, I've come to enjoy the dutch oven cooking videos even more. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
@@iKeto_gal Some people might drive him nuts though 😂
@@Tyrfingr lol, this.
I like Paul's co-hosts for this special, the deer as technique judges in the background really added a fun element.
As someone who has to ride along 2.5hrs to my grandparents for Thanksgiving I really appreciate your holiday specials.
Finally something to watch to cool me down after the in-laws leave.
That would be a good time for gun cleaning.
1:06:06 “Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being watched?” Deer behind him: *He’s onto us, he knows*
It's amazing how Paul gets the deer to hold his camera for him for closeups.
I am honestly way more excited for this than I am for food.
I mean Im really going to love the food, but Paul's special's are absolutely amazing.
Thanks Paul and crew.
Less than two minutes in and I'm really excited for the long-winded anecdotes!
Settling in for a marathon watch w/ Paul today. RIP Peace
Mr. Harrell, what a nice premise for a long video! Even though I spent a rather sanguine thanksgiving with family, well the few that are still here, I will enjoy this presentation at my leisure, when I need it. Thank you so much!
This has become a wonderful and beloved part of my Thanksgiving tradition. Thank you, Mr Harrell!
Been watchin your thanksgiving specials since you stared doing them in 2019. Love it. I look forward to it every thanksgiving morning when I wake up. Its become a yearly tradition. Happy thanksgiving Paul to you and your family.
Thanks, Paul, for putting in all this extra effort for the extended Holiday Special. It is appreciated.
I am less than two minutes into your Thanksgiving presentation and I am already spitting a gut laughing. Paul, you are one of the funniest personalities on the interwebs! Thank you for your dry, dry, dry humor.
A truly wholesome Thanksgiving in the woods! Cheers, lads.
Ha, I’ll be eagerly anticipating the Paul Harrell Woodworking Holiday Special where you (and by extension us) learn to make a hardy chest of your own design!
Thanks for the laughs and class as always Paul. Happy Thanksgiving
That would be excellent!
So thankful we have someone to share their stories and experiences with us. Paul Harrell has become a tradition in our household
Oh boy 2 and a half hours of Paul! What a great holiday treat!
Living Breathing Legend, i listened to his presentation while working on a report. Beats the hell of out chill out music.
Just wanna say I love these Paul. You’re a great talker and I don’t get bored listening to you talk. You teach things great and overall think we should see more of these
Here’s the difference between watching the PH Thanksgiving Special and the various football games: the latter leaves you empty and depressed, the former instructs, educates, illuminates, entertains and informs. Plus, well, PAUL HARRELL!
Nicely said 🙂
Paul, thanks for posting this video! It helped me pass the time on a lonely Thanksgiving holiday. As always, I enjoyed the stories and the tips on cooking. I look forward to ALL of your videos, especially the Thanksgiving videos each year. Thanks again!
Me too sir. Paul certainly has provided us with many hours of education and entertainment indeed.
I’m thinking maybe Paul has an interesting story about some problems he’s had with a desiccant pack in his past. Lol. Happy Thanksgiving Paul, you’ve definitely improved my day greatly!
I Love Paul Harrell . The UNITED STATES of AMERICA'S GREATEST QUALITY IS IT'S PEOPLE , PEOPLE LIKE PAUL . I Am Thankful I Live In A Nation With Paul Harrell , and People Who Think & Act Like Paul . Thank You Lord .
i’ll miss your specials the most paul
Watching Paul make gravy reminds of what my Pawpaw would tell me about how he grew up.
“Boy you don’t know how lucky we are, we get to use milk for our gravy”
Paul is a breath of fresh air, I love his dry sense of humor and his sarcasm, obviously he has spent many years dealing with the public...If you haven't had the same experience then you have no clue what I'm talking about. Thanks Paul, You are the MAN!
One of the few times Paul tells full stories! Love these specials. Thanks Paul!
Rest in peace Paul, your a good man 🇺🇸
I love the treasure chest for keeping food/ingredients in.
Excellent presentation. Thank You!, for the great amount of time and effort it took to create. I spent the day alone, so thanks for the company...
Your cigarette fuse timer might not works nowadays since most cigarettes sold are FSC (Fire Safe Cigarettes). It might go out before it reaches the fuse.
I was unaware of current cigarette technology. Now I'm the one acting with insufficient data. I'll have to buy a newer pack of cigarettes and try it again.
@@PaulHarrell If you noticed, I didn't talk in absolutes. Only the Sith talk in absolutes.
Lol Paul is the man with the master plan dont doubt the genius you will only be proved wrong.
@@markc2643
I noticed.
I would have never thought there were different types of cigarette paper.
Thanks for the info.
Not all... I’m Native American and I buy Native American cigarettes from the reservation. Mine in particular come from the Mohawk Nation. Native made are the few that are actually 100% pure tobacco and do NOT have the crap in commercial cigarettes... even the filter is natural fibers. No “carpet glue” to make them go out!
Man I love this dude, “Bogarting the waffle iron” …. As always a great video. I’m running back and forth now, between the Turkey, Apple pie, giblet gravy and a now annual tradition of watching Paul’s Thanksgiving special. Happy Thanksgiving brother and straight shooting.
Same here.. And now I'm looking for a waffle iron like that one.

The law is so backward in Britain, you can be prosecuted for using anything as a weapon, even a stick in the forest, if it was one’s intention to use it as so. Get your head around that.
@@CaptainoftheCs very sad state of affairs there in the UK indeed. Hope something changes in the backwards mentality there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
"Damn, that's good" ... ROFL ... keep the videos coming, Paul. I mean, really - they are so uplifting and funny when not being greatly informational. You have a real gift. A great comfort during these times of stress and uncertainty. God bless you.
Paul, you’re a treasure. We’re all thankful for your educational videos
You sir, are a saint, never stop. Thank you for making my Thanksgiving livable every year. And happy Thanksgiving to you and all of yours.
Lovin' the video so far brother. May be the greatest intro/ prologue in the history of this platform. Thanks for occupying space for 2+ hrs. May God bless you mightily for your Thanksgiving endeavor! Now I'm done taking up space here in the comments, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Paul !!!🫓🍗🍗🍗
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Paul! Thanks for the Dutch oven recipes and anecdotes; entertaining as usual! :)
I really appreciate Paul's sense of humor, it is like he knows my family.....and the necessity of hiding out.
I watch every PH video released and always learn something and enjoy them. This one just made me feel good as I sit here alone on Thanksgiving. Thanks, Paul.
I read that very wrong
Let’s do this! Always appreciate the holiday specials
For some odd reason when you did he math equation I had a flashback to Abbott and Costello's "7x13=28" routine. Thoroughly enjoyed this!
Thanks for that one. th-cam.com/video/lzxVyO6cpos/w-d-xo.html
He has mentioned Abbott and Costello a few times :)
Outstanding, Paul, I enjoyed every minute of the Holiday Special!
"Can you bring in some more chairs?"
"Of course. Just as soon as I finish this training video."
Thanks for making Thanksgiving special opps Mr. Harrell!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Paul. It's always a joy to watch your holiday specials. Food looks great, by the way. I laughed watching you eat (in a good way) because I thought to myself, "Paul eats like a military man. Fast and with big bites. No time to waste. "
True. It took me years to sit at a table and eat "civilianized" again.
@@ChristopherKnN haha! Good one. At least you figured it out.
@@ChristopherKnN Every time I came home from a cruise, my wife would constantly tell me to slow down, that I was not on board ship. It is one of the unwritten military rules.
☺☺ Thanks for the cooking demos, the deer story, and the very intelligent way you made a point about being right or wrong. I've never seen such a clever analogy.
Paul, you are a treasure.
God bless all here.
Ah yes, the good old days when on any given weekend my buddy and I would raid the old mans ammo cache and go through 2-3 boxes of 20ga and most of a brick of lightnings.
"lightnings"
That just gave me a flashback.
A box of pop tarts and a brick of federal lightnings. Had to use the Nylon-66 because they wouldn't cycle worth a damn in my 10-22. Good times.
Mr. Harrell, You sir, are amazing! I am so glad my husband introduced me to you and your videos! Thank you for everything, you are such a gift!
The sheer joy that runs through me when I see there's a new Paul Harrell video out.
Boy oh boy, what a Thanksgiving treat this video was! I thoroughly enjoyed this. This old dog just learned a new trick in math as well. Paul, keep up these types of videos, along with your terrific Halloween vids. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it.
Just want to say, I'm thankful for your channel and your Thanksgiving specials. I enjoy your anecdotes and humor, as well as the knowledge you impart. Thank you for your efforts.
Paul, my wife & I have been eagerly anticipating your 2021 Thanksgiving special all month. Today we got a long drive from Seattle to visit family out in your neck of the woods. This should help keep us entertained along the way.
Today we're thankful for you. Happy T-day!
I appreciate your videos; I've learned a lot about guns from you, and I value your wisdom and ability to speak clearly and concisely. Keep'em comin'! Godspeed.
Thanksgiving this year i had a full blown case of the flu (the beer virus didnt kill it completely off) fever, aches, chills.. I felt like 10lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag... so i have held off for an entire week before watching this years presentation... it didnt disappoint .
Thanks Paul
