I have a feeling narratively Kwon will not struggle to any randos. They'll probably portray him similarly to Johnny and Mike Barnes in the All Valley. Easily crushing every opponent as to build them up that they are almost invincible fighters. Although your take about emotions is true. Kreese says this himself, skills can only go so far. You need to be heartless, pierce the heart of your enemy by harnessing all the hate inside of you. Kwon needs to be fully focused or else he thinks Kwon's limits will be reached and he'll lose.

Reason: They most likely have the final scenario in their heads that exactly must be the case, Robby is 100% Miyagi do and Daniel is his Sensei otherwise this scenario won’t work. I have strong doubts of Robby ever joining Eagle fang as well simply because Johnny realized it’s just like Cobra Kai and it’s not his legacy but the legacy of the Kim clan.
I personally believe that the main issue for kwon in that tournament is gonna be self control we all know kwon is a hot head so maybe he does something stupid like injure an opponent after the match ends which costs him and his team the Match

Maybe Axel Kovasevic is the best tournament fighter and Kwon the best street fighter. We will see. Maybe Kwon has problems to obey the tournament rules and later gets DQed because he uses banned strikes.
