The biggest misunderstanding is that people confuse reggae music with smiling music. Reggae music and it's people, artists, musicians, composers etc suffered a lot, and therefore the lyrics, the message, the heavy baselines that can kill a man;), these extraordinary riddims, are much more powerful than just a sitting piece of music. This is history and art at the same time. That's why they deserve to be played on a soundsystem. First time I ve heard a soundsystem and my perspective on reggae music as a whole has changed in a major way. All these sound originators and revolutionaries created something unique and irreplaceable. Goddamn greed and imperialism though, shadowbanned revolutionary music and it's lyrics has been replaced with the happy smiling reggae beats and fake dreadlocks. Looks can be deceiving
You just can't get music like this anymore with real people playing the instrumentles when everything went computerised it killed off the ki d of music we once loved. The way has been lost but big up to the sound man of yesteryear because if it wasn't for them like sir Coxsone fat man jah shaka count shelly saxon King tubby unity we wouldn't of recognised the importants of our identity in this society so big up to every black person living in the UK.
' Prophecy ', is a song by Fabien, it's the most intense track, with a deadly baseline. If you do choose to listen to it, choose one of the 12" versions. If that bass doesn't come through like an earthquake, you've got the wrong version. Very few tracks make the top grade, this IS the top track.
