The story: 3 childhood friends including 2 boys are in love with the girl. The boy (Dimash) who offers the "talismans" he has made as a sign of friendship, will marry the young girl (the "talisman" is a piece that is part of an old maritime compass and indicates the North). They will have a baby girl (the one who was killed) and the mother is expecting another baby. The third friend who became ruler, the "Piper" (referring to "Piper of Hamelin") is now his enemy, he is "the one who lost the North". When Dimash dies, his son is born and his mother dies in childbirth. But the boy is saved by his community made up of people of all origins and religions and wears his mother's talisman. He will grow up like a war orphan and will then become this pilgrim, messenger of peace, worthy son of his father. Or does Dimash rise to heaven, I don't know? Dimash packs this short film with a ton of symbolism. You need to watch it many times carefully frame by frame to get them all. Examples (details discovered by a German Dimash fan): the little metal pieces Dimash as the boy finds in the abandoned boat are pieces of a sundial with the hole in the middle (called a gnomon) is where the sun shines through to illuminate the time on the sundial. The sundial gnomon has to point to north to tell the correct time and is used by sailors to navigate the seas. Note the older boy does not put the necklace around his neck but only holds it in his hand after crumpling it out of shape. Next scene you see the same crumpled symbol in front of the adult boy (now ruler) and then an upside down version of the symbol without the hole used as the uniform symbol which makes it unusable for navigation (can no longer find his way). The pilgrims climbing uphill are representatives of all the major religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc.) symbolizing the hardship of religious leaders trying to lead their flocks toward the light, struggling and failing. Note one frame shows a man holding the Koran and bearing the cross on a necklace around his neck symbolizing there should be religious unity of purpose. The storm symbolizing increasing difficulties moving toward the light. The town of Waldenburg, Germany that was the last town resisting in WWII and fell to the US Military who killed every living soul in the town in order to rout the enemy soldiers. Every man, woman and child living in the city was killed. (Symbolic of the fact that it doesn't matter who does the killing, everyone died.) Many more if I kept going, it would be a novelette. This is a true masterpiece in all aspects, musical composition, vocal composition, acting, screenwriting and storytelling all created by Dimash. Great reaction, thank you. Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. Qazakstan only achieved independence 30 years ago, Dimash is only 28. He knows the history of his homeland and of current and past heroes of the conflict. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations. He has stated that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice. Dimash composed the music and wrote the screen play. This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there has been four in just this year alone. Dimash premiered The Story of One Sky live at his concert in Almaty, Qazaqstan on the 23rd September and the video released on the 24th. The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events. It’s mostly about life, death and rebirth. Director Alina Veripya is second to none in her field and portrayed everything magnificently.I believe she also directed ‘Okay’ for Dimash which was a great video. The Story of One Sky is an absolute mind blowing masterpiece and deserves unrivalled recognition from all corners of the earth. I think the baby was Dimash’s son who grows up to lead the people towards the light. The dictator was the boy who originally saved Dimash’s life. The girl on the beach became Dimash’s wife and the little girl was their child.
The woman giving birth is the little girl who became his wife. He wasn't aware that she was still alive with the help of a secret society. (from the article on DimashNews) That's why he took revenge by killing his childhood friend. He felt he had nothing left to lose because his entire family was dead. This of course tuened out not to be true and his child would grow up to spread the message of peace that his father believed in.

This is my partial interpretation on this short film. There are two worlds, this earthly life and the other one more subtle LIFE. When we are born or die on either side, we die or are born in the other. The opposite of death is not life, it is birth. Birth and death are just doorways through the cycles of LIFE. In this film, the other LIFE is represented with all the worlds' religions (Buddhists, Muslims, Christians etc...) appearing to be on a pilgrimage, all walking under one sky. At the end of the movie, we understand that they were all trekking towards the point of Dimash's arrival, who will have died in this earthly life. As far as the Christ-like figure dying in the subtle LIFE (he is wearing a cross), could he also be the baby's soul being born in this life? Personally, I found it absolutely haunting when Dimash is singing about life in a soft tone while soldiers are brutally killing each other. In my eyes, the two fit perfectly if only to show the absurdity of war.
The live premier of this music was performed at his 3 hour Almaty concert. The video shows a story with the music, however his live show exemplifies his energy and emotions that always come out with the live shows. Both the video and live show are must sees. I remember when I first heard Dimash I thought he must be from another world. His vocal abilities are nearly impossible even for the most skilled of singers. He bIows my mind.

The story: 3 childhood friends including 2 boys are in love with the girl. The boy (Dimash) who offers the "talismans" he has made as a sign of friendship, will marry the young girl (the "talisman" is a piece that is part of an old maritime compass and indicates the North). They will have a baby girl (the one who was killed) and the mother is expecting another baby. The third friend who became ruler, the "Piper" (referring to "Piper of Hamelin") is now his enemy, he is "the one who lost the North". When Dimash dies, his son is born and his mother dies in childbirth. But the boy is saved by his community made up of people of all origins and religions and wears his mother's talisman. He will grow up like a war orphan and will then become this pilgrim, messenger of peace, worthy son of his father. Or does Dimash rise to heaven, I don't know? Dimash packs this short film with a ton of symbolism. You need to watch it many times carefully frame by frame to get them all. Examples (details discovered by a German Dimash fan): the little metal pieces Dimash as the boy finds in the abandoned boat are pieces of a sundial with the hole in the middle (called a gnomon) is where the sun shines through to illuminate the time on the sundial. The sundial gnomon has to point to north to tell the correct time and is used by sailors to navigate the seas. Note the older boy does not put the necklace around his neck but only holds it in his hand after crumpling it out of shape.
Next scene you see the same crumpled symbol in front of the adult boy (now ruler) and then an upside down version of the symbol without the hole used as the uniform symbol which makes it unusable for navigation (can no longer find his way).
The pilgrims climbing uphill are representatives of all the major religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc.) symbolizing the hardship of religious leaders trying to lead their flocks toward the light, struggling and failing. Note one frame shows a man holding the Koran and bearing the cross on a necklace around his neck symbolizing there should be religious unity of purpose. The storm symbolizing increasing difficulties moving toward the light.
The town of Waldenburg, Germany that was the last town resisting in WWII and fell to the US Military who killed every living soul in the town in order to rout the enemy soldiers. Every man, woman and child living in the city was killed. (Symbolic of the fact that it doesn't matter who does the killing, everyone died.)

Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. Qazakstan only achieved independence 30 years ago, Dimash is only 28. He knows the history of his homeland and of current and past heroes of the conflict. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations.
He has stated that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice. Dimash composed the music and wrote the screen play.
This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there has been four in just this year alone. Dimash premiered The Story of One Sky live at his concert in Almaty, Qazaqstan on the 23rd September and the video released on the 24th.
The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events. It’s mostly about life, death and rebirth.
Director Alina Veripya is second to none in her field and portrayed everything magnificently.I believe she also directed ‘Okay’ for Dimash which was a great video.

If you look at the beginbig again, Dimash was the main solder from the very start, he is the one who killed a man and got shot in the arm. Dimash has worked hard for 3 years on this MV, and it turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end; 2) Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end; 3) The young girl, became Dimash’s future wife who gave birth to his son at the end, and Dimash's daughter who was killed by the Piper's army. They were all torn by the war.

The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love.
While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge.
However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace.
A parallel line of pilgrims are people of different religions, walking the hard path to some place of power where they could unite and discover the Heavenly Eye that would illuminate the world. By uniting, they create a common energy in which the protagonist’s son is born, as Hope and Faith for the Better. Their journey is a symbol of faith in general, because it always goes through trials. When we go to the truth, we go through certain lessons and our way to God is difficult, but only possible if we come together.
The words at the end of the video are from the "Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" signed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb, on February 4, 2019. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.

My opinion: The whole song is an outcry. My heart aches because of the wars and misery in this world. The greed, envy and intolerance of men will wipe them off the face of the earth if they do not come to their senses. Children and women are targeted victims of annihilation and rape in wars. But they are not just victims or mothers. They are half of humanity. Where are they? Why don't the women climb the mountain side by side with the men and head towards the sunrise and a better future? I only see men running mercilessly past a collapsed comrade-in-arms. Nobody helps him. What future can such a humanity await? Will anything ever change?

Indeed! Human beings are totally ignorant at times...until age or experiences force them to wise up, then they may stop their stupidity & value the most important things in life. DQ is quite a wise young man!
This is my partial interpretation on this short film. There are two worlds, this earthly life and the other one more subtle LIFE. When we are born or die on either side, we die or are born in the other. The opposite of death is not life, it is birth. Birth and death are just doorways through the cycles of LIFE.
In this film, the other LIFE is represented with all the worlds' religions (Buddhists, Muslims, Christians etc...) appearing to be on a pilgrimage, all walking under one sky. At the end of the movie, we understand that they were all trekking towards the point of Dimash's arrival, who will have died in this earthly life.
As far as the Christ-like figure dying in the subtle LIFE (he is wearing a cross), could he also be the baby's soul being born in this life?
Personally, I found it absolutely haunting when Dimash is singing about life in a soft tone while soldiers are brutally killing each other. In my eyes, the two fit perfectly if only to show the absurdity of war.
The live premier of this music was performed at his 3 hour Almaty concert. The video shows a story with the music, however his live show exemplifies his energy and emotions that always come out with the live shows. Both the video and live show are must sees. Thanks for your reactions. I believe that the boy saved was Dimash and the dictator is the older boy. The token shared between the three children are see later in the doctor, Dimash and the girl. Later the child born and the leader played by Dimash in the last scenes .

Pipper leads us to the slaughter long enough, so we have to stop the trailing because we are choosing life over war! The vast majority of us. Dimash shows us all the different religions, all teaching us the same important values, but Dimash also represents each religion in his vocals: first, the sound of a Muslim call to pray, then the “OM” of Budism, then a Christian music introduced by the bell (what a skill from an incredible artist). In the end his revenge kills him too because it’s not the right thing to do, but when he dies, his son is born and wears the pendant that he will be wearing until he grows adult and becomes the leader of a new and more tolerant generation.
