- I live in Greece and I am not a dog trainer. Joe is the very first dog I own and in the video, he is only 10 months old. His accomplishments are a tribute to his intelligence and not to my training abilities. The only thing I contributed was treats and a lot of love. I acquired him from a breeder in Italy, Mr. Juri Geidons, whom I cannot thank enough for entrusting me with this gem. He is not only intelligent but is also a Greek Junior Show Champion.

@@RocketCalcutta had mine for 10 years and he's still the cutest thing I've ever seen. On two different occasions I've had two complete strangers walk across the street and tell me that he's the cutest dog they've ever seen.

My little guy is a Papillon (his ears don't stay up, so official he is a Phalene) Poodle mix. He looks nothing like a Toy Poodle, has all the markings of a Papillon and he is so intelligent! He is a snuggle-butt too! He is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

I want to compliment you on training Joe. He is very attentive to you. I too have a Papillon who will be 5 at the end of the month. Petey is now a therapy dog. He goes to nursing homes to visit patients. He just passed two months ago. It is with Therapy Dogs International. He must be a year old; however, you can start training him now. That way he will be ready when he is a year old. Your dog would be an asset to any therapy dogs in your area. Mine is afraid of so many things; yet, he seems to love to visit with the patients in the nursing homes. Please keep in touch with me, and let me know how you and Joe are doing.

There's some stubborn ones for sure with minds of their own, too much ADHD and may have to weigh all their options prior to deciding if they want to be your puppet. My one male is truly very submissive and yet he still had to do this just to decide if he should go out the door in the morning. Then I got out my reacher and started tapping it on the floor like a staff and started herding him out the door. He also needs me to yell at him sometimes and most paps you wouldn't even dream of yelling at!
Seems incongruous but yet I also do some training for functional skills totally without voice! Go figger!!

So sweet! I have a 17 week old papillon puppy girl named Musa! She's really eager to learn, picks up things fast. And she's really curious and active! Papillons are amazing!
The Papillon who Could Perform Miracles
My little princess Cordy would only sit on the carpet or a blanket because she didn’t believe that a princess should put her butt on a cold floor. It was so cute, it feels like just yesterday, I miss her so much. She was perfect. She would even alert my parents to my seizures even though she was never trained to do that. After I had had one she would sit next to me until I could look her in the eye and say “Mommy’s okay”. Even if it took an hour. As soon as I could tell her that I was OK she would nod and then go back to bed. She was the best thing that ever happened to us. We got her right after my dad had his first open heart surgery hoping she would help him live longer. She changed all our lives and 15 years later my dad is doing great. After 3 open heart surgeries and 3 brain surgeries he is 70 but literally looks and acts like a 50 year old. She was absolutely one of a kind. People thought we were crazy when we got her because we wouldn’t go anywhere she wasn’t invited and refused to leave her alone. None of our Papillons have ever been left at home without one of us there. Witch means we haven’t been to a restaurant together in 15 years. Their worth it! Cordy was the center of our universe and we made all decisions with her in mind. My parents and I were always close but she made us inseparable. I choose to still live with my parents because of her. But I consider myself luckier than most because I have seen her 3 times sense she passed away and she looked happier and more beautiful than ever. She even managed a minor miracle. My dad bought a new car and that night it snowed heavily. The next morning everything was covered with 1 1/2 feet of snow except the new car witch only had water droplets on it. The car was in the open, no trees around. And next to the car where tiny paw prints. My Mom saw her once, the night before she was hospitalized. So we know she is still watching over us, exactly as she did in life. After the worst of our grieving had passed,
( My Dad woke up crying every day for weeks, they had the closest relationship because he literally never left home without he unless he had a doctors appointment.) we decided to get a new female. And we knew Cordy approved because she brought the baby ( as we still call her ) two toys. ( At different times. ) I buy all her toys on Amazon, so I know for a fact I didn’t buy them. In the morning they were lying beside the sleeping baby. The most incredible dog in the world, still amazing us even after death! The toys she brought were a replica of the baby’s favorite toy ( witch had lost an eye ) and a tiny yellow rubber ducky. We still miss her every day even though it has been 3 years. Sadly she was only 12 when she passed. None of us had ever owned a dog, except my dad who had one in Vietnam as part of the K-9 unit. One of the things that have led to him having PTSD since then was knowing that the government executed the dog that saved his life on numerous occasions. So because we had never had a dog, we were completely ignorant about buying a puppy. Because of that, we ended up unknowingly buying her from a puppy mill. Despite all that, knowing how much we loved her she defied expectations bye holding on for 2 more years than any on believed possible. ( she didn’t suffer, she just had a week heart. ) To prove how ignorant I was about all things dogs I remember telling my mom that buying one would be exspencive because they probably cost $300!!! LOL We eventually paid $1,500 for her. Worth every penny!!!

My Papillon/Chihuahua mix, who looks just like this little dog, makes me do tricks for her. She's always trying to nudge me out of my chair to get her food or to take her somewhere or to play with her.

I once found my Pappilon smoking my meth in the bathroom, the door of which I had to bust down because the clever bastard locked it. Can't say I'm mad at him, I mean, I did let him see me open the safe I keep my meth in once. I just wouldn't have expected him to remember the combination. What I really was left to wonder was how he managed to use the lighter. Those things get smaller every day and even I have trouble with them from time to time.
I do have to give it to the Papillons, man. They really are pretty damn smart.
Tell me about it. My Papillon stole my credit card last year and hitched to Vegas, where he made a killing playing high-stakes poker. I won't even tell you what he blew the money on, you can guess. He came back home of course because I do still have his favorite squeaky dragon toy, but now he gets calls from his Vegas "friends," and. Well. I *think* he may have ties to organized crime.
...I've said too much.

Amazing. My wife and I are looking for a purebred Papillon and hope to find one by October of this year. We had a wonderful Papillon who died of cancer at age 8. Can you share any information on good breeders of Papillons on the east coast of the US (perhaps in the Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania area)?
