Snowman Applique - What to do on a Snow Day - Crochet Pattern & Tutorial

- If the weather outside is Frightful, crochet something Delightful! Make a Snowman bunting, add him to blankets, scarves or bags!

Want to add Arms?:
Join yarn with a sl st to body, 4 sts down from the edge of Scarf. CH 7, sl st into the 2nd, 3rd and 4th chs from the hook, CH 3, sl st into the 2nd & 3rd chs from the hook, sl st back into the base of the first "twig" (the 4th ch), sl st into each of the 3 remaining chs. Sl st into the same st that you joined your yarn in along Snowman Body. Fasten off, knot ends together and weave in tails.
Repeat for other side. You might want to add a little drop of white glue, fray check or Modgepodge to keep ends in place and stiffen arms.

HI Lori, if you're short a couple of stitches, you can just cheat them back in :) If you're several rows out from where you accidentally missed the stitches, you might want to frog back to the skip and fix it from there, otherwise, depending on how many stitches you missed, you might find the edges of your blanket wanting to 'cave in' in that area. :)

Hi Kathy, it depends on the pattern :) Typically the stitch chosen by the pattern author is chosen on purpose, so if you can speak to the author directly, they might be able to answer that :)

I have noticed that some crocheters just go under 1 half of the v instead of the whole v. Can you tell me why and should I use one method over the other.
Texture purposes usually...going just into front or back loop. I prefer to work into both unless the pattern specifies front/back loop only

Hi Sondra, then skip them! You can always sew on little black beads, tiny buttons or use fabric glue and glue on tiny pieces of black felt :)
