Just imagine if this channel took a hard left turn into serious wildlife photography. It’s like “what the hell?” but at the same time, I want to see how that journey would look like. The Sony impressed me. You should explore more point and shoots.
If one can only buy one camera ever, this is one that should definitely be on the top of the list. Took it on a trip to Iceland and it did an amazing job producing nice images and videos while surviving the crazy weather.
The squirrel was eating unripe mulberries it looked to me. The berries come in white, but most are deep purple, so hard to tell at that distance if they are ripe white or unripe red/purple. The flavor varies quite a bit, but they can be very sweet and delicious when ripe. If they fall off easily, they are ripe, unripe berries are toxic.
Honestly looks pretty good and the AF worked really well. Some of the long shots looked like they may have needed a contrast boost but that's about all. Try "Clear Image Zoom" it's digital zoom with some trickery to not lose quality.
So good to see you after a long time bro! The last time I was watching your videos, you were in Thailand. I was following your Thailand videos for quite a while and somehow TH-cam algorithm stopped suggesting me your videos and somehow I missed you.
Transitioned from mostly funny to mostly entertaining, which is the same thing if humor is your only form of entertainment. You’re wildlife shots are delightful, which is a synonym for entertaining. BTW, I prefer my A1’s tilt screen over my dad’s fully articulating screen on his FX3. Sitting off to the side messes me up.
The video quality looks decent though it seemed to be slight off focus sometimes in stationary situations. Probably one of the better fixed lens super zooms for people that want the big focal length range if they don't mind spending as much as a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
Thought about selling all my Fuji gear and getting the RX10. Would be nice to have just one camera and lens to do it all. But still have doubts about the 1" sensor.
I use an RX10iv for a lot of my video work. It's actually a pretty good camera. My wife uses one for her stills work and, quite honestly it is a really good all around camera. Not the best video, not the absolute best stills but it is darn good for all around use.
I can imagine the confusion of the people near the rocks :D you sitting there by yourself waving your hands and talking to a camera that is out of sight XD

These RX10 series cameras are excellent. I have 2 of them. Here is the best S-log 2 settings I have discovered on these cameras. Black Level +9 Gamma S-Log 2 Color Mode ITU709 Matrix Saturation +1 These setting work well indoor and outdoors. Outdoors sunny: ISO 800 Aperture f7.1 with M2 Built in ND on. Indoors: ISO 1250 f2.8 These settings work similar on the ZV-1 but the Black Level needs to only be +1-2 and indoors will need to be f1.8 at ISO 1000-1250
Max zoom is 4k for good rendering. 1080 for best stabilization. Screw clear image, use the digital zoom. The mic on board is actually kinda good too btw.
I still dont know why camera companies havent released a camera with a with a rotating sensor to keep the horizon level... it would be so easy! Optical stabe with a spinning sensor to keep the image horizontal at all times 😭
Getting the signals out of a spinning sensor over a reasonable camera lifetime would be an considerable engineering challenge. Rubbing of contacts in a rotor/stator arrangement would probably create enough vibration to randomly shift the sensor by at least a pixel, possibly more. Hard-wiring the contraption would create torques on the sensor that would need to be counteracted. Some sort of optical coupling would probably be necessary. And you want it to be affordable too?
@@aldolega yes and i love when the IBIS in my olympus keeps the video level but i hate everything else about it. I wish i could customize which of the 5 axis' were to be used.

The video quality doesn’t impress me especially for the price! I’m happy that you made this video because I was thinking about buying one in the future and now I won’t 😀!
@@chuckg4947 As long as it offers image quality on par with or better than the cameras I mentioned for around the same price or less than the camera in this video, then its a win
For me it is the best all around "compact" camera for photography by far. It is the one I always carry on (you never know when bigfoot will show up). But for 600 mm video... It is so hard to stabe that focal lenght. I prefer the ZV1 for both photography and video IQ, but I always end up trading that IQ loss for the mega Zoom versatility. If you can handle the weight (please eat some meat), it is a very good camera. You will have fun with it.

I bought a like new condition RX10 for $500 on Amazon. It was listed as a mark 1 which hey still seemed a good deal for it's constant 2.8. What they sent me however was a seemingly new RX10ii. I WAS SCAMMED!! but like, in a good way. I'm satisfied.
Sometimes, 24fps can be irritating but the stuttering look becomes intolerable when shooting wildlife. It's like a large format GIF, not a film at all.
honestly, this somehow looks better than almost anything youve had. except for the stabe. but also the reason why i like it is cause it reminds me of camcorders, which i enoy for some reason.

Alternatively one could get an M50 with a Tamron 18-400 superzoom lens (and an adapter to M system). It would still be cheaper than Sony RX10 and you would get Canon colors, APS-C cinema magic and what not.
I too got a RX10 IV in an Amazon Warehouse Deal about a year ago. It is effin amazing, but crazy complex. The user manual is near useless, so that was not so great. I love the macro capabilities. The 4k was sharper, but the 1080 definitely wasn't bad, plus it has the stabilization. The s-log with the black pro mist looked best

I would try it without the black pro mist, it'll probably be much sharper, especially in 1080p if you need the intelligent stabilization.
The Sony RX10 line never got the respect it deserved.
It did from me. I sold it.
Very natural colors. Very nice. Easy to grade.
