I'm looking for suggestions. I've tried the combover over the last year and I'm a fan. It looks great until the wind hits it and blows it up. Then it looks like a toupee. I've grown it long to help cover my almost bald spot in the back and keep the sides short. My hair is about as thin as this guy's but not as curly but not really straight either. I'm 33 and looking for something different that I can do myself. I've been cutting my own hair for about 9 years. I'm not afraid to put up with a bad cut if things go arie. I'm glad I found this channel. I use a 2 on the sides and am not a fan of a dip down hairline in the back. I always used to just spike the bangs but my wife said to change things up. I'm looking for a new style on the top that takes my thin hair and nearly bald spot into consideration. I don't have a receding hairline thankfully. An updo seems to work well with my head shape and bangs make my thin hair obvious. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would be cool if you had a segment where people send you silent videos and you make recommendations. Like you just tell us what to do to help you see what we have to work with in a standardized step by step guide and you commentate and show examples of your suggestions through pictures of other people.

Sometimes while using my flat comb to remove bulk on the sides I end up creating a horrible line where the comb sits, any tips on how to properly do it?

Yes! you can try using a half or one guard to create softer lines! And make sure you are angling the comb outwards at the top!

    What product do y'all recommend?

I use axe messy look in the yellow tin. It works best if your hair is just the slightest bit damp. So when you get out of the shower do everything else first and then run your hand all through your hair to spread/ even out the dampness. For more hold you can leave the lid off the tin and let the product dry out a bit. Takes some experimentation to really figure out.
