Agreed. As a coach and as an athlete. This is my favorite article on him: www.deseret.com/sports/2024/09/03/ed-eyestone-byu-track-coach-olympic-athlete-builder/
He’s amazing. Seems like such a great leader and motivator. Although he was pretty off about his prediction of the medal times. Shows how tough it is to gauge on new courses.
Clayton, you're truly an inspiration to runners around the world (now you know you also have fans in Poland! 😀). It was an honor to experience this journey together with you (even if merely through those TH-cam series) - thank you for inviting us to observe your dedication, hard work and perseverance. Please know that by sharing your story you're empowering and motivating others - I myself, as an amateur runner, am extremely grateful for that. Wishing you all the best!
As a competitive runner myself this series has been an absolute treasure. To see everything- working out the niggles, bad workouts, good workouts, even some of the hours and hours of warmups and drills is so incredible. And the ON TOP of all that we get this episode of you and your family and friends just screaming "I love you" and soaking in all the joy from you getting to perform at such a high level on the olympic stage. What a blessing you are for our sport Clayton and what great role model you are to show that pride, joy, and love are things experienced by even the most elite athletes. The utmost congratulations to you and Conner for this build and performance! Thank you to Andrew Storer for such beautiful footage and editing! Can't wait to watch NYC marathon (:
When you talked about how “you belong” I didn’t know it could rain indoors in front of my tv😭 you’re such an inspiration to me and I thank you so much for this amazing docuseries! Looking forward to your future plans!!!!!
been following this series since episode 1, & the release of this final episode on the day before my peak race tomorrow (erie marathon) is the most perfect coincidence I could’ve hoped for. thanks for the inspiration, for this awesome series, & for making 🇺🇸 proud at the olympics! would say I’m excited to spectate you at the NYC marathon, but I’ll be running a few waves behind you :)
After going along with you for all these weeks I found myself choked up watching the race portion tonight! It’s been such a journey. Thank you for welcoming us all along with you, Connor, and Coach.
Andrew, Your shots in this series were incredible! The end with the shots of Clayton’s family were so moving. The shots of his girls were always my favorite and the shots at the end of this were just magic. Fantastic job! 🏅
Dear Clayton, it took me a while to watch tis last episode of the series, but wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your journey, your dedication and the fact your faith powers you. Your performance was exceptional and am really looking forward to see your next achievements after this one. This series was exceptional - very well done to everyone who worked on this and you for taking us through that journey.
Loved every minute of this entire series. Congrats on the achievement and all the hard work that went into it. Big props to the videographer and editor for making the story such a great watch. Hope there is more to come...
Thank you for doing this series. I don't think I've ever been as invested in someone whom I've never even met! I was inspired and touched again and in tears with you. So appreciative of your giving nature. You will inspire many more! Thank you to you, your family, your videographer and Asics for doing this!!
Best produced running series ever made. Planning on binging the whole series again very soon ! I've been looking forward to these every Saturday when I'm on my LRs I can't help but think of Clayton cuz I'm wearing the Superblast just like you! I'm chasing Olympic trials now & possibly the Olympics in 4-8 yrs. Thanks for inspiring me Clayton! I strive to be like you in every way! 🤝
This series has been a massive inspiration for me. I used to fear marathon training but Ive been watching these while recovering from Sunday long runs and it gave me so much passion and motivation for running long! Will see if all the training pays off at the Berlin marathon this weekend. As a European, it's also been great to discover a new part of the world through these videos. Hope you keep sharing your story in future.
I’ve never commented on a TH-cam video before but thank you for this wonderful series and genuinely humanising your experience. Take your running speeds out of it and every aspect of your preparation was truly relatable and inspiring
I’ve really been lacking in what I would define as a true modern male role model in my life, but to see someone throughout this series with such a humble, kind hearted, meticulous and grateful approach to life has been truly inspiring. Please keep the videos coming. Love from England 🙏❤
Incredible docuseries @clayton young congrats on all of your success. You deserve it for all of the hard work and sacrifice you put in. Rooting for you in your future endeavors. Send it!
Absolute legend. This series was beyond amazing, and inspired runners across the world. Can’t wait to see what the next 4 years has in store for Clayton & Mantz. 🇺🇸 marathoning 🔝
Great work! Awesome series. Thanks @ASICS for supporting this inspirational athlete. As a Puma/Nike guy, will buy a pair of the ASICS Paris Sky just because.
Thank you Clayton and asics for this video series it was very inspiring to follow this journey and the montage and direction was incredible. Weirdly I ended up switching from Nike shoes to Asics (Novablast and Superblast) during this series (Some of my friends said I finally seen the light lol), but as a marketer, this series was hands down the best way to showcase how great your brand was and I’m glad I ended up watching it. Thank you.
This has been an incredible journey. I experienced this Both as a first time marathon runner and as a photographer. It's rare that stories about the two things I love are told so beautifully. Congrats to you both Clayton and Andrew. Asics, if you see this, I bought my next Asics trainers because it this series.
Clayton! Congratulations to you for your brilliant performance in the marathon! I never would have imagined that the darling toddler in diapers living two doors down would become an Olympian. You are truly amazing, and I couldn’t be happier for you and your family! And many thanks to ASICS for producing this fantastic series so we could all follow you on this journey; they did a spectacular job. Blessings ❤️
Standing ovation for you right here in my office at my desk. That was a great series and a great race. Thank you for putting in the effort to make it happen. It has been a much-appreciated gift.
Middle aged battler from NZ inspired by your journey Clayton. You mix being an Olympian while being incredibly relatable to the average runner. A powerful combination!
Simply inspiring. As a non-elite runner and older man (64), it was joyful to follow your journey. Thanks for putting out this docu-series. Well done on your achievement at Paris. All the best for NY in November, then LA in 4 years. Go and enjoy your wife and family. You are blessed.
I am running my first half in less than a month. When I do train, I often think about you and Conner’s build, and that makes me run better. Thank you for everything
I found the series very inspirational. It was good to see the pros also struggle with Achilles, hamstring, etc. The key is to figure out figure it out and help moving forward.
Definitely didn’t tear up towards the end of this 🥲 best series on TH-cam and it’s not even close. Thank you for inspiring people like me and helping us chase our dreams and goals!
Amazing serious. Clayton, you are truly inspirational not only as an athlete but as a person. Love the openness of your experience. You made BYU, team USA , and our country proud. Can't wait for New York !
I really enjoyed the whole series. The handshake with Mantz during the race and the way you welcomed everyone at the finish was so nice to see. And congratulations for the 9th place and a big PB on such a difficult course.

You’re my absolute favorite athlete to watch. Let alone your talent, you’re all that is good about this sport! Rooting for all the big things for you, Clayton!
This series has been incredibly generous. Particularly when the efforts must feel so zero-sum, to give people something to follow and connect over and root for is really something. Massive congratulations, to you of course, Clayton, but really everyone involved.
I’m Running my first marathon this Saturday, having been watching these right along with my own marathon training has been amazing! Thanks so much for them!
You've got me out of the door even on the days I didn't want to and have restored my love for running again. Your & coach Ed words of wisdom is what I now try to incorporate in my training. This docu-series is a piece of art and inspiration. Thanks Clayton!! I love you and you belong ❤️
Clayton, I'm inspired by your journey and I really enjoy your updates week on week Please keep them up. Congratulations on the Olympics, many go but few are chosen. LA2028.
Quote from Every Good Endeavor by Tim Keller: "The original word 'sanctify' meant to set yourself apart like an Olympic runner. We know what it means to train for the Olympics. it means that absolutely everything in life is subordinate to one goal. It means that every minute of the day, every activity is done in such a way as to contribute to that aim. There is a great deal of pain every day, but it is endured without complaint. Only that level of passion and commitment can earn the gold." Thank you for setting yourself apart to represent our country at the Olympics. A top ten performance and a 2:08 on that terrifying course in the heat and humidity are amazing! Rich blessings to you and your family!
Thank YOU Clayton! You are an amazing runner and even a more amazing person. I love you; you are so inspiring. You also represented the USA with great dignity and made us all PROUD of you for carrying the flag and put it among the top 10 best Olympians Marathon Runners in the World. Thanks also for this docuseries. I enjoyed every chapter of it! Wishing you the BEST of luck in your future. Please continue to be YOU!
I won’t ever be able to explain how special this series was for me. I ran that evening, and I’ve been watching these videos since episode one. I felt so many of those same emotions, even thought it was on a much smaller scale. The build, the sacrifice, those dang hills (up AND down!), the finish…it was amazing. And this last episode brought just a little bit of closure I needed. Keep up the work. Doing amazing things out there man!
thank you for sharing your highs, lows, triumphs, and challenges with us. it has been incredible to watch your journey and the positivity and hope you radiate to runners everywhere who look up to you. we are all so proud of you not just for how you raced, but how you represented our country with your good heart. i live in NYC and i am so excited to cheer you and Conner on in November!! 🫶🏻
The moment when that MEN can still smile and waived to his supporters during the harsh course you knew that this men is in top shape and definitely going to deliver his best results in this race, congrat to Clayton on top 10 and he is definitely going to continue running and race for LA Olympics 2028! This is the best marathon documentary series covering training in different workouts and elevations, nutrition, post run recovery massage and most importantly the mental built up especially on dealing with injuries and anxiety. Thanks Asics and Andrew and his team efforts in producing this epic series which I'm going to rewatch again and again as long as I'm still running for whatever reasons. Can't wait for upcoming videos but for now it's definitely time to celebrate and enjoy the break!
One of my favorite lines from this episode - getting to the start line is the success, everything after is the celebration. What a wonderful perspective to have ☺
Just finished watching this episode. It was such a great honour to follow along with you on this journey. Lots of big things ahead for you by 2028 in LA. A big takeaway is that you are in the top 10. Massive achievement man! Time to rock and roll and continue to inspire others :)
In tears. What an amazing documentary of what it takes to be amongs the worlds best - individually and the village behind you. Definitely inspiring to see, watching this series has only made me more determined to chase my goals. Congrats!
This has been such an inspiring and well produced series to watch. Congratulations on your Olympic spirit and marathon race. I am running my 51st marathon in October in Falmouth, MA incorporating parts of the road race course you have raced. I am trying to beat the time I ran in my first marathon back in 1977 when I was 18 years old. Watching this series helps me know what it takes to be my best.
This series has been epic! Thank you for being such a guide as i enter my base building phase for London next year!! And goodnluck in your next build for NYC 😊
This whole episode I kept thinking, "this is what it is like when your dreams come true". All the focused toil to attempt to be among the best in the world, having a good day when it matters and most importantly having people around you who love you. None of that other stuff matters without the love.
This has been such an amazing documentary series! It’s been so fascinating to connect with Clayton through this - and how incredible is his progression… can’t wait for New York - I’ll be there running!
Thank you Clayton. Thank you Asics. This series was such an inspiration to me in my own small-world run goals. More importantly, congratulations to you for your Olympic successes! Same to Conner! I felt a deep swell of emotion watching this recap of marathon day. I was invested in your success through sending many prayers to you and your family through this "build" and I'm sure many others did the same. 🙏 God bless you and all the best!!
What an amazing journey you’ve completed and started all at once. Congratulations on a special achievement and it’s a true blessing you got to share it with your family and closest people in your life. Aside from being an exemplary elite athlete, you’re an even better role model for what a great father, husband, friend, and training partner should be. Many blessings to you, your family, and your team, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for you.
Absolute legend. Such an inspiration. Two weeks before my first marathon. Just watching before my second to last big run. Giving me the motivation I need. Thanks from a rainy Liverpool England
This has been such a great docuseries to follow. The people in it, the struggle, the nature, the footage, the music, the running, the panting. So mesmerizing in its simplicity! Also followed the Olympic marathon with extra interest since you were in it. I was glad to see you put on such a tremendous performance, Clayton! Big congratulations from Sweden! Hope to see more from you!

Also kudos to coach, Ashley, Connor, your videographer and editor and all who were remotely involved in this project ❤🇺🇸🏃♂️💨
I got to be on the phone with Kendy while she was at the finish line. Your family was so proud and I loved watching the journey through Kendy’s eyes! Can’t wait to watch you medal in LA28!!

In this house we support the Youngs! Loved this incredible series and will continue to rewatch!

Best running docu series I've ever watched. Awesome work mate.
What a fantastic human, documentary and build. Literally, World class Clayton Young, thank you for providing us all of these behind the scenes progression videos, I’m sure you will never know the number of youth you’ve inspired to run (as well as this old man). Your enthusiasm is unmatched and is very refreshing. Thank you for allowing us in! I wish you nothing but the best in NY and LA in four years, looking forward to more of these documentaries.
I shared your qualifications story with our primary and I hope to one day share with you that experience. You’re inspiring so many people! We’ve felt closer to Jesus Christ watching you!
Can’t wait to watch you medal in LA28!!
