Thanks very much! It was good to point out how strings, tunings and finger hardware affect the sound. What are your thoughts on a slotted vs. solid headstock? Keep up the good work!
Although some say there is a difference. I cannot tell or hear one. Some say different string tension, but again can’t personally tell. Other factors are much more of an influence. Strings, picks etc. thanks for watching!
Thanks for this great comparison! So on the video it sounds like the wood body would cut through in a group just as well if not better than the steel. Is that your in-the-room experience? I play fiddle tunes, no chords, with a flatpick and am so far drawn to the wood body.
The wood body would cut, but not as strong as the metal, however more full. All reso’s are very loud. My favorite wood for a flat pick would be a wood body triolian single cone. VERY strong attack. I think I have a comparison video up with triolians. Personally really dislike the wood resorocket, very flat sounding. Only National that I purposely sold due to the sound. The M1 is great, but more sustain than attack. Try to check out the WB Triolian. Very clean attack, less sustain. Thanks for watching and commenting, appreciated!
Hey leeasnin, thanks for watching and commenting! Much appreciated. Although not compared to wood. This past video digs into German silver. Personally, I would always go for German silver if affordable / available. Generally to my ears, much mellower sound (metal finger picks and metal slide). If I could only have one guitar, it would be unfinished German silver cutaway!! Thanks again. th-cam.com/video/mwFaoUQb0XY/w-d-xo.html
@@bfrank3468 Thank you. I own a Style 1 Antique Brass Cutaway Tricone and a deep body Maple M1 Tricone. I have a German Silver Style 1 Cutaway Tricone on order showing up next week. So, I’ll be able to answer my own question myself…😎👍🤔✌️ Thanks again!
a very good comparison😀
I agree with you that the wood one has more bottom end. It also projects more than the metal ones.
I love just the sounds of a steal National! I’ve got to save up and get one of these.

I like the unplated one the best
Me too, even sound across all strings, for my style anyhow…Thanks for checking out the vid!
I wish that you would had a German Silver Tricone added to this comparison.. It would be fun to have that represented…TY
