Something people don’t talk about enough with goal setting is goals that make your life better now, and aren’t future focused, are very important goals. Long term visioning can be very scary depending on what’s going on in your life. Particularly for people who have an illness or care for others with illness.

I tried to do SMART goals and that's just not how my brain works. I really appreciate your distinction between a habit and a project, Laura! And how a habit can fall into the "maintenance" category. Will check out the planner! 🙂

This is one of the best, most REALISTIC goal setting videos I’ve ever seen! If Covid taught me one thing it’s that things can change literally overnight. Long term planning went out the door in March 2020 and I’ve been leery to plan long term goals (or anything really) ever since.

Omg yes! I couldn't put this into words. I've been getting the itch to set goals again lately (new year and all that jazz) but I guess I have PTSD because these past three years have been like riding a roller coaster blind folded.

I'm totally looking forward to watching more and becoming better at following through on my organizational skills and productivity. Thank you again!

OMG! That notebook is SO CUTE! AND love how each section and question really gets to the heart of it and causes you to really think about it, clarify what it is you want and, hopefully, motivates you to actually get it accomplished! And who doesn't love color coding? ❣❣❣

Your system makes so much sense to me! I wish I'd found this BEFORE I paid a lot of money on a different system for 2023, lol. But I'll definitely be buying your planner for 2024! :) (And now I'm going to check out your Plan Your Days video.)

Thank you for breaking it down in such an easy way to understand. I especially like the difference between a habit and a goal in the pantry example. Normally I would’ve put maintaining the pantry as a goal.

I love this. It is clear and honestly better than most planners out there. My only issue, and wonder if others can relate, are maintenance tasks/chores/life admin stuff. Those are neither goals or habits (maybe, but like once per month type things) but they take as much time as a personal project would. I would love to see a system integrate what we all know to take most of our time outside of work and family.

This is brilliant. At last I’ve found a system that I think will work for me. I also loved your last video on daily plan. Only thing is, I’m in Australia and thinking along with the exchange rate and postage, it may not be affordable for me. 😞 I’ll still go look though.
EDIT Just saw there is a digital planner or one you can print. Sucks I don’t have a colour printer, I want the pretty colours and stickers.

@@GetOrganizedHQ this approach really makes so much sense because it lets you think big picture without committing to doing everything in the next year or a specific time period. I like the SMART goals framework, but I like your concept of focus area instead of goals, because longer-term goals are hard to fit within that framework. I think it’s best for the shorter term goals, or the ones that are very well defined, such as get a degree.
