That's a very nice resto. You should have put the Ghia badge on the front as that seems to be the version you have. It was withdrawn early one due to a licensing issue. I've done a couple of different colour versions, plain white, red underbody and blue too. Thanks for doing these, I think your castings are most excellent.

Hi Paul, You’ve done an excellent job on this! This is my very favourite Corgi model. They’re probably rare because I have over 20 of them! I have very early castings exactly the same as the one you have restored and some of the later ones. You can tell them apart from the Ghia badge on the underside. Only the very early ones have that. Corgi used the Ghia badge without permission, and had to blank it out on the later models. I also have quite a few examples of the metallic green Mangusta that Corgi made with Wizzwheels. A few points to note. The front wheels are actually smaller than the rear wheels, and the original tyres were different on the front than the ones on the rear. All the original tyres said ‘Corgi Toys’ on the sidewalls. The original box has a vacuum-formed yellow insert that the body and chassis sit in. I have a few mint and boxed examples of both the blue/white model and the metallic green model. I also have a few rough ones that need restoration. You should sell those decals, because I would definitely buy some from you. Once again, you’ve done an excellent job on this one. Definitely my favourite one.
wow. I am very glad that you have so many copies of this rare kind. of course i can resell you detomaso decals. Please write me an e-mail with the address paul.restorer@wp.pl
Absolutely InSane Those headlights turned out great as did the rest of the car. The 2 step display box ads something extra on top of an already impressive Diecast. Again you knocked it out of the park.
Fantastisch!!
Pozdrawiam.
First rate work, enjoyed the making up of the wheels. I wonder if a simple fabricated flat floor with wheels and axles, so the backbone chassis, engine and suspension ending in disc brakes could be displayed on axle stands next to the car. However, I realise away from restoration, so thats not the point. Thank you for the excellent work, always look forward to watching.
Corgi. Wow this takes me back to my childhood. I remember where i saw one back in 87. In a variety store in the town i now work in. Dad and i went to buy shoes . The store has been closed down for a while now.
Always wondered how much to restore or if it is worth it to restore my 1968 Ford Mustang. Amazing job you did with your restore on this video, thx for sharing
Very interesting effort and the only video I can find on restoring this model. I'm particularly interested in the job you did attaching the makeshift antenna. Why did you use sanitary silicone instead of cyanoacrylate glue to attach the aerial? Also, what is the white powder you sprinkled on the join after it was affixed?
Thank you very much . silicone and is always easily removable and does not damage the varnish. while the antenna must have some kind of flexibility, that's why I didn't use cyanoacrylate glue. the powder that is added to the cyanoacrylate glue is baking soda. She have. accelerating and reinforcing properties of the adhesive reaction.
It's beautiful, you did a great job on this one. I remember DeTomaso Mangusta (next to Alfetta Spider) as a bigger, plastic toy with a remote control. It was quite popular in 80s.

Another suggestion, to make your restorations more durable, you should airbrush some high gloss clear over the body. Also, paint the silver parts, like the engine, before you put it together. Spraying clear over the silver parts will ensure the metallic paints won’t rub off when handled, especially those nice rims. Silver and gold paints have always had a tendency to rub off really easy and they can make a mess of the rest of the item when handled. Lacquer high gloss clear works the best. I use it for all my scale models and anything that I paint that needs to be shiny. You can get satin and flat too. Cheers
