I wrote a college business essay about how GoodGood is changing the world of golf and digital marketing through TH-cam. Cool to see you guys cover them as they really are one of the most interesting things going on in the space right now.
So give us an example of how he changed the world of golf? The only example I ever see given is the uptick in golfers... Somehow Garrett Clark has been credited with this and not the fact that it was the only sport anyone was allowed to play for over a year during Covid 🤣

I'm classed as a senior, and have followed Garret from his very early GM golf days, with his cousin and friends helping him make content. The crossover from GM golf to Good Good, was a natural platform to build upon, and is why Good Good grew so quickly. GM golf, would likely have passed 1 million earlier than it did, currently 1.24 million, very much deserved, based on his passion for providing content for each of his subs. Garret, has never lost his positiveness and appreciation for those who make him wealthier, as a direct result of them following and staying loyal to him. Garret has a natural flair for making good content, which people of all ages appreciate, I am proof of that. The mix of personalities is what makes Good Good and GM before it, a natural fit for those who subscribe to them.
You guys nailed it on the head. Their success is from the group dynamic. I’ve been watching good good for about three years now and I just love the personalities and goofy challenges. I love golf but for me that’s a secondary benefit to the entertainment they bring.
Garrett and good good are true pioneers and paved the way for the golf TH-cam space. We’re all blessed to have them, especially Garrett, he’s done an incredible thing being the leader of this whole category of content. Everything from the group chemistry, to the shot tracers, to the cart cam stuff, the editing, the long content, the trips, the random golf formats, etc. I’ve started watching golf girl games recently and they basically use all of these stylistic elements and then they add in crazy challenges for the losers of each episode, and it’s basically been incredible content since they locked in their core group. Thinking aloud…I wonder how much Garrett has to do behind GGG, as an advisor, mentor or even silent partner…it was basically started right after Sabrina and Cailyn showed up on his GMGolf channel…
I’ve been a massive supporter of Good Good for three years, I’ve seen a lot of interviews with Good Good where the people conducting the interview don’t come in with their own research. It showed in this episode how much Garrett, Max, and Colin respected you both for doing your research beforehand by asking thoughtful questions they hadn’t been asked before. Overall, great questions and insights into where it is today and the future of their massive brand.
One day back I don’t even know how long ago this dude GM Golf pops up in my recommended and he was at the driving range with his girlfriend and I was like huh okay interesting. Watched a few of his videos and watched him and his friend play a golf hole that was like a mile long. Thought it was pretty awesome. Continued watching as he started to grow and have matches with other golfers that soon came to be like characters on a show. Then one day he announced he was starting a golf brand and TH-cam channel “good good” and I thought to myself well that’s stupid, he’s going to ruin his own channel and no one is going to watch this. The group is definitely what keeps GoodGood on top of golf TH-cam, it’s relatable, we all might not be as good BUT we all got a few buddies that love to go out and play
This was a great interview. Love hearing more about how things got to this point. You can tell Garrett is very humble in not wanting to talk about the revenue side of things.
I’m about halfway through this interview, and they are talking about how to stay innovative with everyone trying to do the same thing. As someone who is trying to break 90 from the senior tees, for me, the reason that Good Good stands out is the personalities. Each one of the gentlemen, Garrett, Steve, Matt, Bubbie, Brad and the other golfers who rotate through for a year or so, have incredible personalities that feed off each other. I’ve been watching them since 2020, discovered them when I couldn’t leave the house because of COVID, and now I feel, in a way, I really know them because they really connect to each other and are their true selves.
As a big fan of Colin and Samir, and an OG GM Golf viewer who has been around since way before BroFive, this was a very well spent hour. Good selection of guys as well, G-Rat is obviously the key figure, but Colin and Max are so important for the vibe, for the "Good Good Universe" created way back. Also interesting that Bryan Bros is mentioned a few times, since George was in the first few Good Good videos. Keep up the good work!
I personally, love the vlog parts of the videos. I miss Collin’s vlogs, it was like a behind the scenes take on the Good Good weeks. You have to think that people who live in cold climates like myself, we only get to golf with the boys for 6 months per year, so when golf season ends, we’re getting our golf fix through you guys.
Even the Pros are into Good Good golf. Just got done watching their round with Jim Furyk. It was very enjoyable. Many of the golfers in their original group became TH-cam stars in their own right. Luke Kwon, Micah Morris and Grant Horvath are great examples of that.
Huge GG fan. Garrett is a real key to their success bc of his humble personality. Nobody likes an ego monster. But the tracer...the tracer is such a massive part of their success. Not being able to see the flight of the ball is a massive contributor to the boredom of golf.
The PGA tour vs Good Good viewership question is ease of finding where to watch. Im new to golf and figuring out where to watch golf youtube makes it easy 😅
I've been watching Garrett since the trick shot days, and it's unbelievable how far it's gone. I watch Rick Shiels, Peter Finch, Bryan Bros, Grant, Micah and some others and feel that we do get a much deeper look at the Good Good Guys. They have certainly put a new and refreshing look on golf.
Have not made it through the whole video, but I just learned about the BroFive side. It is interested considering Garrett, Matt, and Steve left for difference in future goals. It adds an interesting element to Grant and Micah leaving Good Good for difference in future goals and how it was handled by the Good Good squad. I know there is a lot of background the viewing audience does not know, but interesting stepping back and seeing the entire story.
Amazing video. Huge fan of GoodGood since they began and you guys nail it on all of the questions. Like you brought up, GoodGood within a title or description of a video brings along a certain audience and here we are. I was wary about watching this, but you guys did a wonderful job and I really enjoyed the way you go about asking the questions. Keep up the great work.
a couple years back i had a pretty traumatic back injury, similar to what Matt deals with, and while laid up in bed i found these guys, i lived vicariously through them and they kept the love of golf with me. i’m thankful to be healthy now and can play golf again, and now i get to watch these guys set the golf world on fire
I think when they did the goodgood cup when they brought frankie and riggs in to colour commentate made it seem a lot more cohesive and work as a hybrid broadcast. Lot more light hearted with great banter and jokes. Probs to the nbc commentators, they went along with it pretty well.
Garrett off the golf course is still a great personality, very intelligent and a genius at marketing. He has achieved greatness on his own terms before the age of 25! Remarkable!
Golf is surging in 18 to 34-year-olds. The growth of golf is based on TH-cam. The potential for their success is unlimited. GG figured out tournaments were a way to grow Scramble tourneys should be considered.
"I made a 16 and made more money than if I made a par." LOL great quote from Garret in context of making money as a YT golfer as opposed to a Pro D1 Golfer.
one thing that stands out for me with good good compared to the other channels I subscribe to is that because they're so successful in TH-cam golf specifically they can make plenty of money FROM the golf world! Other channels I follow, some of which have far more subscribers, well there's no Callaway or Taylor made in whatever it is they do so their only sponsors are those VPN or self help things. Also good good are one of few channels where the main members are stakeholders. Now anything can happen between now and 100 years from now, but it'd be cool if eventually when they can't play as much golf for content anymore that they can eventually just bring in new kids and still make money
Lets just appreciate that MBKHD was thoughtful enough to think "Hey, I'm going to talk about GoodGood. let me go grab their hoodie to rep them". Thats an thoughtful creator right there

Good good golf is what got me into golf. I randomly saw Matt’s hole in one on a par 4 and I was hooked. I started watching their videos and then started chipping in the back yard, then going to the range. It’s been about a year and a half now and I’m golfing every weekend. I watch TH-cam golf almost every night.

G left out that brody got salty cuz they would wear their own merch in the videos
I applaud Garrett for pioneering the vision for both GG and GM golf, as well as Colin and Max’s creative vision for production in a space that was largely untapped. That said, GoodGood went from creating relatable content to now also having to market themselves as a professional product exponentially fast. Sadly, I never felt that the quality of golf improved at the same rate and it got rather annoying watching some of the core guys continue to hack it around really exclusive courses. I don’t gravitate to their videos anymore but I do respect the impact they’ve had on growing the golf community as a result.
Correct me if I’m wrong but the idea and name of “Good Good” came from outside marketing guys who wanted to capitalize on the guys’ content and talent?
GG will definitely have to evolve beyond the core group and I think they will. But I’m also confident that no matter how much haters want to hate on G Rat, in fifteen years he’ll be compared to Steve Jobs and hailed as a visionary in the golf entertainment vertical. There have been quite a few people who “invented” Good Good and were there from the start but it wouldn’t have moved an inch without Rat. That’s just a fact.
I'm a 43 year old golfer from Sheffield England and when I'm not golfing or working I'm watching good good videos on TH-cam, I feel that TH-cam golf in general is far more entertaining than pga golf, unless it's the the ryder cup!! Would love to see a Europe versus USA content creators Ryder cup style event one day! @goodgood @gmgolf @rickshielsgolf
Not only are they the sole reason I made the decision to pay for TH-cam premium, but they are what made me pick up golf and start my journey to be a scratch golfer. Had my lowest round this week and still getting better.
What wasn't pointed out here is this: GoodGood is successful as a genre, in this voyueristic, multi-media, visual age simply for the fact that so many people came to the realization that the whole animus of "Reality TV" was a complete scam because reality TV was not "real". My brother, worked in the film industry for 2 decades, would show me shooting scripts of reality shows. I wasn't surprised to see that they were directed, and scripted right down to an eye-roll. Garret, rolling out of bed at 5 AM and looking pretty rough, disheveled and flighty (as we ALL ARE at 5AM) is what most people relate to. It's AUTHENTIC, that's why, even myself, a 60 year old golfer (who had once had dreams of turning pro) continue to watch and enjoy the 6 -10 minute intros that have no golf content at all. It's real people doing real things. It's what Reality TV never was: HONEST. Here's the other thing: which I'm not sure anyone else has articulated about the zetigeist of TH-cam content and its creators.People love process and biography. By that I mean, I for one am far more attracted to a story of a persons personal path through life, and the choices that led them there, than say, the story of someone who my be exceptional at what they do, but was handed evrything on a silver platter. That's why I too could spend an hour watching Bubbie's personal testimony about his life's path. Most of us are interested in each others process but nine times out of ten we're too afraid or reluctant to ask a person about it. Even in generic GoodGood content, out on the course, you're typically learning something about one of the group members, or they'll relate a story about their process/ path and it might resonate. In my book, communication beats sensationalism every day of the week, and it's always going to be more lucrative. And a big shout out to Colin and Max too for their unbelievable editing prowess. These gents are burning some serious midnight oil and I am just amazed at not only how quickly they can turn out the content, but the level of quality they contain is impressive. (PS: NBC/ Peacock's production for those livestream golf events sometimes pales in comparison to Colin and Max's production quality). GoodGood needs its own "Frank Chircanian" (look it up), and that would solve the continuity issue y'all have with the live events. I enjoyed the live events but honestly, they were kind of all over the place. Great interview Colin and Samir. Some really good questions. Enjoyed it and you have a new subscriber. 😁
I think part of the reason they have their fan base and people will watch for two hours, is that they include the blogging aspect into their videos, and it’s not just them on the course the entire time. It’s more compelling and the depth it adds to it. I typically watch every video the entire length. There’s others that I watch and do enjoy, put may post a 20 min video and I’ll skip half of it. I don’t think I’ve ever ffwd one of their uploads. Same for Grants stuff, bob does sports, and Bryan bros. No disrespect to the others, cause I do watch plenty of them, but the more straight forward video formats, just bore me, even if it’s only a 15-20 min video. They just seem to lack depth
The pandemic and proliferation of golf was the perfect recipe to set GoodGood on this path. I’m not so much into the personalities as I was watching Garrett, Micah and Grant specifically play on that channel. The space has really grown and I’ve moved on to other creators, but the path/template GoodGood has set is definitely apparent with other creators’ channels and videos. Wish those guys all the success they’ve earned and have coming their way.
The PGA Tour has a younger audience, with the highest interest among Americans aged 25-34. However, the PGA Tour still has a presence among older demographics. Here's some related information about the PGA Tour's audience: Interest by age 19% of PGA Tour enthusiasts are aged 25-34, followed by 17% for each of the 18-24 and 35-44 age groups. Interest decreases among the 45-54 age group, at 11%

There have been quite a few people who “invented” Good Good and were there from the start but it wouldn’t have moved an inch without Rat. That’s just a fact.
Have you looked at Big Wedge in the UK?
On the same day as colin and samir?! Got all my free time booked with Good Good today, I guess!!!
so glad you guys did an episode w these guys!
I got back into golf because of Good Good💪🏻
What wasn't pointed out here is this: GoodGood is successful as a genre, in this voyueristic, multi-media, visual age simply for the fact that so many people came to the realization that the whole animus of "Reality TV" was a complete scam because reality TV was not "real".
This is cool
You guys should get OpTic Hecz on a podcast, he was one of the investors behind googan and good good
Well Garrett doesn’t read TH-cam comments, because I’ve commented about Bro5 on several of his videos!
Such a banger. Great channel choice for combining the great content and great business.
Garrett needs to make a GM video with Brody
W episode
We are here for Steve
The pandemic and proliferation of golf was the perfect recipe to set GoodGood on this path. I’m not so much into the personalities as I was watching Garrett, Micah and Grant specifically play on that channel.
The space has really grown and I’ve moved on to other creators, but the path/template GoodGood has set is definitely apparent with other creators’ channels and videos.
Wish those guys all the success they’ve earned and have coming their way.
This is dope

I have never heard of 'Brofive'. I honestly only started watching GOOD GOOD after seeing Matt's first par 4 hole-in-one. I immediately went back to the first video and watched everything. Total fan since. 👍
I’m in Australia and have a Good Good putter and people recognise the brand when I’m at a course. The branding is undeniable
So many millionaires created during Covid. Love to see it!
Oh let's go.
What percentage of Good Good, does Garett own ?
