I’d love to see a video about more of the logistics of teaching. I’ll be graduating in a year and plan to teach and Florida, and I’m curious if they tell you what to teach everyday, if you have to make your own curriculum, etc. I love your videos! They have been so helpful and make me feel a little less stressed out about my first year teaching

You are definitely not the only one whose students lack confidence in Math. I find myself having to encourage that growth mindset in Math more than in any other subject. As their teacher, I see their growth, but it takes extra effort to help them recognize their growth.

You are being obedient to God, he equips you when you are called to do something. He doesn’t necessarily call those who are already equipped.
I was just like you in my first year, I felt so overwhelmed, stressed and like I wasn’t ready for it. I was teaching in a modern learning environment with 120 kids in a giant classroom with 4 teachers. But I knew god called me to teach.
I’m in my fourth year of teaching now in a fantastic school and classroom with 20 students and it does get easier! And I bring my puppy in all the time. Teaching is always busy and stressful but after a few years you feel more on top of it all and less anxious.
I wish I was as organized as you my first year. I am a second year now, and I feel like I am still learning every day. You're doing a great job and seem so sweet/kind!
I love your channel--it's real life as a first year teacher. It's a great perspective for parents of young children.

oh my gosh, im the same way about breakfast! my mom made me eat breakfast every morning so if I skipped it, I'd be starving. When I started student teaching, I would be way too nervous to eat anything. Now when I teach, I drink the breakfast essentials too! 😅

I am in school for elementary education and I worry about my anxiety effecting me when I start teaching and demonstration teaching. Any advise?

I am at the end of my degree. My suggestion is this: you are expected to make mistakes as a student. You are not expected to be perfect, even as a first year teacher (or even a veteran teacher). Do your best, ask question- your supervisors/mentor teachers are there to help you become the best you can be. I had severe anxiety at the beginning of my program (I would choke on words, I would get hot and sweaty and red... and as time went on I became more and more comfortable.
Give it time. Be confident. :) You will learn as you go

Never make a spelling error on the board. Best advice I was ever given!
It is hard to begin with! My anxiety is helped a lot with practice/repetition. The more you do it - the more your mind will be at ease. My student teaching was so stressful at first but you've gotta recognize that this is your goal, something you've been working SO hard for so you can't give up (: I'm in my third year now and I'm so much more at ease.
I would also say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with respecting your own boundaries. That includes only working your contracted hours, taking mental health days and sticking up for yourself in scenarios when you feel uncomfortable. Finding a team you vibe with and are supported by helps a lot too!

You might have contact allergy to metals. Allergy to nickel is common in females, so if you use twizzer buy one covered in gold. Or resort to nickel free stainless free metal products only.

I sympathize with your hot room. I have to dress in layers because our rooms get too hot. I am in Pittsburgh so at least I can open a window. I use Wonders too.
I can totally relate when it comes to Anxiety, because its the story of my life actually and has been for as long as I can remember and its all from the Social Challenges I tend to experience because of my Autism, which I was bullied, harassed and teased for as early as Kindergarten but aside from that I’m sure you’re probably an absolutely amazing teacher especially because you seem like you’re so sweet and easy to talk and with that I’m sure you probably make academic learning an absolutely wonderful experience! Oh yeah and that reminds me, I was just wondering if you have any students you know who happen to be on the Autism Spectrum, Bailey?

I will be turning 50 in about 3 weeks and was thinking of going back to school to be a teacher. Many people tell me to not do it, that it's horrible; a headache, etc. Teaching elementary school is something that has always interested me and it would be something that I could continue as I get older. What do you all think?

What an interesting year you're having as your first year as a teacher. Not exactly how you were trained to teach i'm sure. Even though I don't have any children myself I want to thank you for what you're doing. What you're doing is essential because it's you and others like that are educating the children of the world. You look much too young to be a teacher. In my school days my teachers were considerably older and they all wore glasses. I do see glasses in your hair on top of your head, but you apparently wear contacts rather than glasses in your daily life. You should consider wearing your glasses at least when teaching to look more teacher like. I'm actually a retired optician and many of my patients were teachers since our store was rather close to several schools in the neighborhood. Congratulations on your first year as a teacher and let's all hope that your second year is much more like the way it should be. Please take care, stay safe and healthy.
