If you film clients or yourself in talking head type videos, this AI tool called Gling will blow your mind. This can save video creators HOURS every week on one of the most tedious tasks when editing video, cutting out all the silence and bad takes/mess ups. And it does so quickly and fairly accurately. It does need some tweaks to get it just right, but it's easy to do with the editor page in this desktop app. Highly, highly recommend this, especially if you create content on TH-cam week in and week out.

The “bad takes” part of Gling, gives it a competitive edge against something like Descript too. Been working it into my workflow for sure. The top tools I’ve been keeping my finger on lately are Gling, Descript, Opus - I would say AutoPod too but it’s only for Premiere 😒 just need something like that for FCPX!!!!

It perfectly figured out which parts were bad takes and cut out all the silences… When you first said the $15 a month I did cringe a little bit but then your point about paying someone $15 a month to do it and everybody would if they were smart with their time
It literally took 20 seconds for a four minute clip that would have probably taken me at least 10 minutes to go in and do if not longer

Thank you so much, bro, as always providing the best editors content. I just tried it out and that's why I want to leave this comment. Perhaps the developers will see this when they watch your video. I believe it's not working very well for the Spanish language. In my case, I tried it and it only made one cut in a 10-minute video, where I made several mistakes and repeated many words. I can only imagine that it's a matter of the algorithm not quite understanding Spanish very well yet. But without a doubt, this is just the beginning and it will only get better. I will be keeping a close eye because incorporating this into my daily routine will save me a lot of time.

@@postandfly Hola! I suspect the issue might be related to the fact Spanish has a much higher word-per-minute ratio than English. We currently break down the text into "takes" based on the pauses in the transcriptions. We do plan on improving this in a way that will improve the experience for Spanish and other fast-paced languages.

    • @dylanjohndickerson

Such a timesaver huh! I believe so. You can upload as many clips as you want to each project but as far as I know, they won't sync. So if it's an audio file that you need to sync to that angle, it's better just to manually sync it by dragging in the audio file into the Multicam that you exported and lining it up. Hopefully that makes sense.

Hey Paul! Not a rookie question at all. So maybe I'm just not working it right, but here's what I've been doing. I use the Multicam.xml feature. The clips should be all cut up on your timeline as Multicam clips, and then you hop into that and just drag your boom mic audio into position. Yes you have to manually drag it to sync it, which sucks (once again maybe I'm just not using it right), and then when you hop back out of the Multicam clip, all of your cut clips will have the audio from that boom mic.

Take the fact that you stop to take notes and combine that time with all the time it takes to cut out the dead space and mess ups and I’d put money down that you wouldn’t be able to beat AI. I believe you’re fast brotha, but everyone has limitations.

Do you have a recommended #shorts app? I’m trying Opus. I made thirty minute long videos and finding ten 30-59 second clips is a pain… 😂

@@dylanjohndickerson opus is working well. They just upgraded it so it does a better job of following faces. It also seems to pick clips pretty well. I love the transcription and summary. I was curious if he had any other suggestions.
